Faline
Well I guess its time for another challenge. This month I am trying to be more focused and really trying to bring some structure to my crazy life! Brief overview of goals: Fitness Goals: 1. Walk/Jog four times a week for at least 45 minutes 2. Strength training 3 times a week (a new one for me..Yay )....plan on trying to accomplish this with resistance bands (hopefully I don't hurt myself lol...bands seem dangerous for clumsy people like me!) 3. Loose 5-7 pounds (currently 176.6) 4. Fit meditation into my daily routine Life Goals: 1. Do all required reading for classes (two classes left until I am done with classes for my MA!!!) 2. Limit computer time to one hour a day (I just know my farm will suffer) 3. Oh and lastly... To post on the forum until the end... last two challenges I ended up stoping just before the last week. Eating: Vegetarian approximation to paleo (husband's description lol) I have been doing this for about 5 days and have lost 4 pounds. I have a daily menu set up that my husband and I have put together(well he did most of the work lol) If I decide I am tired of something I just figure something new to replace it. I do still miss the carbs but I am learning the mac and cheese is not my friend no matter how many canned veggies I add to it. This challenge is epic for me because this is the start of me trying to relearn how to eat. I don't want to count calories anymore, I want to focus on getting enough protein and fat (good fat) and not dieting!!! Seraphsody
Vegetarian Paleo sounds hard, can you tell me more about it? (I'm vegetarian too and had originally just nixed any idea of paleo for myself) http://twitter.com/#!/Seraphtide Link to comment
Sanjh
She's asleep and wanted to post the spreadsheet we made, so I'll answer: Basically, Eggs, Veggies, Nuts, Seeds, Good Oils, and the approximation part: Tempeh, Veggie Burgers and meat substitutes. We tried to focus on whole foods, and approximate the macronutrient count. It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty good. This is what we came up with: Link to comment
Seraphsody
That does sound really cool! Thanks for posting! http://twitter.com/#!/Seraphtide Link to comment
Faline
Day One! Eating: Did great! I am having problems eating everything on my menu (mainly the whole salad) but I am working on eating over an hour ...when I can find the time lol Workouts: Did a 30 minute walk with four bouts of random sprinting (felt soo good!) Overall I know I could have done more today but ...I did start a new book .... A Cavern Of Black Ice by: J.V. Jones ...This week its all about having relaxing and having fun Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Tsimyriah
And I thought cutting dairy was hard! Great job on day one! It sounds like you are off to a good start and I love how positive you sound. I think I will add the "Post til the end" creedo to my adventure as well. Now go enjoy J.V. Jones while holding an amazing plank!! Sher I find Star Wars references to be a great motivator to do things..... Link to comment

Faline
Day Two! Eating: Well Had some issues with lunch but I improvised and decided to just grab stuff that was on my menu that was more convenient. In the end I am glad I did this, I hate the feeling of having no idea what to eat and now I feel that if I don't have my lunch salad ready I will just grab stuff on my menu that would be more convenient and that I can fix at work. So score there! Exercising: Day one of Strength training! Also, got in a 35 minute walk w/ hubby and dogs I decided to make myself a routine and do max circuits in 20 minutes. I think the routine needs some tweeking but overall I liked the idea. I completed 18 3/4 sets (had four seconds left for 15 secs of planks lol) My Routine was: 2 Pull ups 4 push ups 6 Squats 15 seconds of plank So in review I think I need to remove the planks....I will ponder doing a 30 second plank as a warm up or at the end. After the first couple of sets I found the tops of my feet hurting from jumping down and getting back up from the position (pondering if this would go away if I keep doing them?) My pull ups were chair assisted and I hope to work to doing non-assisted and my push ups started normal and after only 4 sets I went to the knees lol. But I would call it a score because first I only stopped to sip water and second I completed the 20 minutes with the thought that I could do a few more! I liked having four exercises however I need to find one to replace the planks...If I even need to replace them ...decisions decisions lol Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Malva
Like your routine! I am impressed that you can do pull-ups! I don't think I will ever be able to do those. Level 1 Earth Mother Druid STR-2 DEX-1 STA-3 CON-3 WIS-3 CHA-3 Link to comment
Faline
Day Three: Eating: Did great no cheating ..well I skipped the blue berries because I was not hungry but other than that great! No exercising tho ....was suppose to go to the climbing gym but was lazy and decided I wanted to go to bed early lol But I did watch the documentary "Fat Head" It was very good and kinda eye opening...it did kinda hate on vegetarians but I will forgive it lol Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment

Faline
Day Four: Eating: Well overall I did okay...Breakfast and Lunch was normal but had to eat dinner w/ husband and part of his family. We ate at a vegan Tai place that is amazing and I made a huge attempt to eat good and I think I did pretty well... Had about 1/4 cup of rice and ate yellow curry w/ tofu. Working out: Did a rutien w/ pushups, pull ups, and squats 4 pulls ups 12 push ups 20 squats Did five sets with about two minutes in between each. Did not like the waiting but that is what the workout called for. Overall the day went good and I am sooo waiting for the weekend Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Faline
Day Five: Eating...breakfast good, lunch no so good...salad was bad so ate a Carls Jr. ...I got a Taco Salad (did not eat the shell) and a bean burrito. Did not feel like eating for dinner so I had a protein shake and some "chicken strips" and called it a day. Exercising: Got in a 40 min walk with hubby and dogs Boring day overall... filled with paperwork and a lot of yawning lol Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Malva
How are your classes going? What will your MA be in when you are finished? That is an awesome spreadsheet, by the way. LynnyLee
I need to take a trip to the mall for some make up. I do not have a make up addiction, but having one would probably actually make my life easier. Link to comment
Faline
Ahh too much fun... Eating: Did okay until going out to a friend's going away thing....did not need the nachos or the soda Exercise: Ummm none Had a blast while listening to an amazing local band "Felonious Groove Foundation" and hanging with hubby and friends...so at least I can say I had fun being bad lol Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
LynnyLee
Nothing heals the wound of a friend going away quite like nachos and soda. At least that's what I would tell myself. Link to comment
Faline
@ LynnyLee Yeah for some reason bar nachos are amazing..weird lol Well I have been doing okay for the passed two days Eating: Not too shabby...Today I was great..yesterday was sushi (yummy tofu and veggie roll!) So yep it was carby but I did manage to admit defeat and take some home lol Working out: Took the dogs on a nice 45 minute walk yesterday and today I managed 30 minutes on an elliptical type thingy with pretty good resistance. On my pampering side note...I went to a Spa(for the first time) and got a body wrap ..It was AMAZING!...It was a little weird at first..I always picture beautiful skinny people going to a Spa so to start with I was really self-concious but the lady was awesome and made me feel as comfortable as possible considering it was a body wrap so I had to be in my birthday suit. I was skeptical but I love it...I have always been one for pampering myself at home but this was awesome. I cannot wait to do it again...pending I save up enuf money ...lol Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Faline
Well, this has been a week of ups and downs So to start with I am 171.8 Yay!! *does a little dance* I passed my last Air Force PT test today with a AC measurement of 33 inches! Meaning I have lost two inches on my waist in a month....coolness. Of course to celebrate my husband took me our for New Mexican food and ice cream but to be honest I feel kinda crappy afterwards So back to my normal eating tomorrow. Mon-Wed I spend 35 minutes on the elliptical at the gym and tried to get as much walking in as possible. I am looking forward to going back to the climbing gym this weekend....kinda scary because I have not been back since my surgery at the end of Jan. I am trying really hard to stay motivated for my last classes but I find myself not interested in the reading ....argggg Maybe I can find someone to read them to me while I am on my laptop =^..^= Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
Faline
Well, I would say I have been "taking it easy" since my last PT test and I bad because of it lol. I have been trying to stay away from carbs but I have not been following anything else on my menu. Today has been somewhat good on food but I know the bottle of wine I am drinking tonight is no help lol Working out has been a bust however, I have done a good bit of walking today at least. My husband and I have agreed to go back to our plans as of tomorrow because we are both blah from eat not so good lol Fun Fun Sadness Is Easy Because It is Surrender http://twitter.com/#!/PsychoLoLCat Link to comment
