Finally feeling betterish so back to the gym I go.  Restarting this damned program again since it's been two weeks since my last workout.  Oy.

Notes: Dropped my working max 10 lbs on both big lifts to compensate for lack of lifting - weights felt fine.  Hip thrusts are hard right after squats - just fyi. Was feeling pooped at the end of bench so I skipped my rows. Extension and bench were superset.

Conditioning "fun" 

 

This. 

 

She describes it as: 

 

100 blocks each leg

200 M sprint

100 football taps

200 M sprint

100 lunges w/baby side hop (50 each leg)

200 M sprint

50 knees to squat

200 M spring

 

What I actually did: 

 

100 blocks each leg (the burning)

200 M wobbly run

100 football taps

200 M fast run (or slow sprint? ha)

50 forward lunges with side hop, 50 forward lunges (again burning)

200 M fast run again

25 knees to squat (the step version, not jumping) 

 

and then it was just no. No more. I started falling after rep and got really light headed. My face was so red it looked sun burnt.  Bananas, y'all. BANANAS. 

 

Total time: 0:30:17:80

 

Definitely room for improvement, but I'm okay with how it went.  Going to aim to work this with some kind of regularity. 

 

I anticipate not being able to walk soon.

Wow, that is intense, good job with it!

That being said, I may try a nerfed version of it after squats tomorrow.  I could use a good finisher.

Yeah, the craziness of the summer has started to calm down, and I'm starting to get back into some of my old routines.  I'm sure nothing else will be happening in the next few months that could possibly distract me...  

 

I'm planning on having an actual real-life challenge on the next go round too.  I thought about rounding up a few of the old warriors to see if they wanted to throw into it as well.

So, um, yeah. There's been some soreness. I'm not going to pretend it was mild. Or pleasant. Or that I didn't complain to boyf endlessly whilst begging him to rub my legs. 

 

Thank god for deadlift day. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to squat - ha!

Notes: Lots of mobility before and after.  Shared deadlift platform with someone today - chatted a bit about high bar squats and smolov.  I love my gym. Dropped my "max" weight for deadlifts like I did with squats and bench and it was definitely a good call.  This felt exactly like it should have.

And I did a watered down version of your workout, I'm sure the 10,000% humidity in the garage didn't help. 

 

Your gym sounds cool, just having a DL platform puts it above most gyms, actually being able to converse with like minded people is above and beyond.

You're doing awesome at consistency lifting, as per usual. I want to do a challenge, but work blocked NF and phone updates are so hard to commit to. I know I have time after work, but that hasn't worked so far.

We need to.catch up irl!

I'm glad you're enjoying the new program :). I'll second the "your gym sounds cool"--I miss training with other powerlifters.

 

Yes! It's still a little hard on the ego but it's good for me.  I am missing squatting multiple times a week but I'm trying to remember the reason behind this program.
