WizardTrip
MIR!!!!!!! Long time!! (my fault, not yours ) I'm with you on the frugal part. Been trying my best to do that so that I can be debt free by the end of this year. It's a struggle, so I do let myself slip every now and then, but I keep with my budget the best I can. As for the running and lifting.....I briefly tried it, but failed miserably. I just hate running, so I'm thinking of trying out some swimming on some off days now that my gym has a pool. I love to swim, so if I can set a routine, that is something that would work for me. Morrigainz
Damn, that is a sweet Earth scholarship. Congratulations Mir! Totally a sweet Earth too MIR!!!!!!! Long time!! I have a history of being not-great with money. I did really well for a while when I didn't have a bank account, and I kept all my stuff separated into piles of money for all my bills. But, these days, not having a bank account is not really a good option for me. So I think what I'm going to do is give myself a monthly allowance (I don't know if you saw that whole ridiculous thread on FB) in cash, and when it's gone, it's gone. We'll see. And I like Mint, but I don't like it 100%. It has some limitations that are frustrating...but it's the best tool out there right now, next to tracking everything by hand, and that's just too time-consuming that I probably won't do it. I love running. It's how I got into fitness. And I suck at swimming. Still sore today. Last night I could barely move, so I ate pizza for dinner, watched Machete, and played Triple Town on my rooted Nook. It was good times. Level ? Blueberries
Mir! You've got this, my friend. Basics are good! I'm with you on the hyperfocus, so I can't help, but the scheduling suggestion sounds legit. Calendar appointments for "Running workout" or "Lifting workout" would be the only thing to keep me going. Damn, that is a sweet Earth scholarship. Congratulations Mir! Gah... every time I think I love you guys as much as I possibly could you go and make amazing references. Yes! We use an envelope system (like the piles of cash you described), only everything is tracked in Quicken with the "envelopes" set up as Savings Goals. It took some funny set up to make it do what I wanted it to do, and it takes two tracking steps for paying bills, but it is so beyond worth it the little bit of extra work for me b/c at a glance I can see how much is left for groceries or whatever the category is. Every penny is assigned to an envelope as soon as it comes in, so nothing's ever just floating out there with no purpose. Shoshie
Yay, scholarships! I've successfully done lifting and running together for...like...a month at a time. Mostly I end up injured after a month or so, so maybe I don't eat enough? Or do enough stretching work? IDK. One time I didn't get injured, but just couldn't deal with the time commitment. I wasn't really lifting heavy, though, just a dumbbell upper/lower body split. I also had a ridiculous schedule for extra fun, like, lift every other day in the morning, run every other day in the morning. Plus a bonus jog in the evening every day. Though I was also 20 and could probably recover from basically anything then. I also ate constantly. Like, if three hours went by and I hadn't eaten anything, I would get this awful wrenching hunger and needed to eat NOW. Morrigainz
I can't help it... Hokay, so. Here's Mir. (I'm sorry it's just my favorite video everrrrrrrrrr) STILL sore from Monday. I was going to go workout anyway today but I FORGOT MY IPOD AT HOME. You guys might understand how crucial the tunez are for me to have a productive workout. I just...don't think I can do it without NIN blasting in my ears. So, I'll go for a walk at lunch (I actually need to go pick up some tickets for Oz that I won - woot). Then tomorrow and Sunday run, then back at the weights Monday and hopefully not so sore. I want to take a vid of my OHP. My bar path didn't feel right when I did it Monday...so...we'll see what happens when I bring a camera into my gym. I made a "new" recipe last night - not new to me, but new to Mr. MirGSS. He doesn't like mushrooms, and I didn't feel like cutting up an onion, so it was mainly chicken, coconut aminos, and bok choy...but he liked it. He even ate a little of the bok choy. I'd really like to get him more involved with the recipe-finding so we don't have another cauliflower crust pizza debacle. I thought there was something else I wanted to say but I don't remember. I should probably get some work done Level ? Half-Dwarf/Half-Amazon Warrior STR:21.25 STA:15 DEX: 10.95 CON: 14 WIS:15.5 CHA:17 SWOLE BUCKS: 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Link to comment

Morrigainz
Chaze: it will. Trust in Mir, and Mir will provide. Today I AM STILL SORE FOR SHIT'S SAKE. I LIFTED ON MONDAY. HOLY HELL BODY. ALSO CAPS! Dentist appt today, and then....I bought this Groupon....I'm a little worried/concerned about how it's going to be....but I bought the 20-session one. Apparently they have boxing/kickboxing classes. I asked when each of the classes were, and the guy responded that "it's kickboxing if you can kick, otherwise it's just boxing." He apparently tailors the workout? So.............we'll see. At least it's something different. And...here are starting pics. Ugh. Later maybe I will upload my pics from last year. Level ? Kickboxing lessons makes much more sense. I would buy this groupon. I've always said that the first person I'd hire for my entourage when I won zillions in the lottery was a personal dental assistant. It strikes me as the height of frivolous affluence to have a full-time tooth flosser on staff, but something I would truly enjoy. I really enjoy going to the dentist for that post-dentist clean you can't get anywhere else. There is no signature here. Link to comment
