Morrigainz
Also, no lifting today (BOOOOO). My morning training went way over and I only had a few minutes to gobble down lunch before my afternoon training. Still debating whether I feel up to trying to run tonight. Totally beat from the time change. And also Monday. Level ? Half-Dwarf/Half-Amazon Warrior STR:21.25 STA:15 DEX: 10.95 CON: 14 WIS:15.5 CHA:17 SWOLE BUCKS: 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Link to comment
Morrigainz
I like posting on my own thread. Lalalalala. Yay. So here's how my night went: 6:30ish-McDonald's for dinner (I know, I KNOW - I was so tired) 7:30ish-"I'm bored but really tired." 7:45ish-"I should go for a run." 7:48-"But I am le tired." 7:49-"Well hop on NF chat. Zen go for ze run!" 7:50-hop on NF chat, get linked to Hammlin's blog. Immediately feel lazy. 8:00 (minute 1): get on treadmill. Immediately get a cramp. minute 5: cramp still there. Dammit, I guess we'll see how far we can go. minute 10: cramp STILL there, but seem to have boundless energy minute 20: deep in runner's high 22:15-2 miles. "Huh, this is a breeze." 30:00? Maybe? Really lost track of time in here. Step it up a notch. End up at 6.5 mph. (basically sprinting for me) 32:19-3 miles. Pant, pant, pant, middle of my body is huge cramp, let's cool down at 5.2 mph 34:00-"Huh. I really feel recovered. Let's see if we can keep going." 35:00-this isn't fast enough. 5.5 mph! (lost track of time in here again, but I kept upping the speed every little bit) 42:55-4.0 miles, ending at 6.7 mph. Lesson learned: McDonald's does a body good? Level ? Chaze
Did you get a McDonalds Coke? I don't like soda but that stuff is incredible, the only thing I like about McDonalds. I think there might actually be coke in it. And that would explain your burst of energy. CapN_Tommy_Sunshine
I think the key to McDonald's coke is that they have a slightly wider straw than everywhere else. There is probably some math and physics involved that could explain it, but I think it is so much better there than anywhere else, and that is the only difference that I can pinpoint. I haven't had a coke in so long, it would probably hurt to drink it due to how sweet it is. Link to comment
Morrigainz
I agree! Oh man it tasted so good. And I really don't drink pop that often. It was a nice treat. I think there was definitely some actual coke in it And I've always thought their straw diameter was just about perfect. Is that weird? Level ? Rob__
Its not! They've done studies on the proper ratio of straw to cup, bubbles per mL, flavour particles ppm, etc. minimal salt required on fries to induce maximal thirst...Good run! There is no signature here. Link to comment

Morrigainz
Yeah! I usually try to wait 2 hours before a run, because once (a loooooooooong time ago) I had a handful of peanut M&Ms before a run, and puked them all up at the end. But this felt gooooooooooood...I was in the groove. Since I didn't do my squats yesterday, I was hoping to get to them today...but my legs are sore. I'm thinking I might start of 5/3/1 with some OHP. Strawberry Squatcake
I always have a great workout after I have a burger, even with gluten sometimes bothering me. We finally ahve food trucks around here and one makes a pretzel bun. OMG. So nom. I had one of my best workouts amidst a string of really craptastic/uninspired/unproductive workouts after I had that burger. Well, and their fresh made fries, which are also good and are drizzled with aioli. Hmmm. So maybe it was the fries. And also, yes on the Coke from McD's. It annoys me endlessly that their Coke (and their diet Coke) tastes better than anywhere else. All that is said to say, FANTASTIC RUN! I'm jealous of your endurance and ability to ignore the cramps! IfItPlugsIn
Nice run! McD's doesn't have to be horrible for you. I actually really like the Southwest Chicken Salad, and if you take half or all of the bun off a grilled chicken sandwich, it would be decent. Of course, there are days when only fries, Coke and a big burger will do. IfItPlugsIn (Jenna)Current ChallengeBattle LogMy MFP Page Link to comment

Morrigainz
I wish! I managed to drag my lazy ass out. 33 degrees is a bit cold to go running (even for 5 mins or so) in shorts and a tank top. But I've managed.26 degrees and windy is DEFINITELY too cold. I am an idiot for not bringing anything to wear over my workout clothes. Today's workout:.42 mile run ~4:26 (it was fucking COLD)Squat1x5 651x5 703x5 805x10 50Hips were crunchy. Mobility time! Also, I've noticed when I get A2G, I have more trouble getting out of the hole...and I arch my back as a result, giving myself some wonderful lower back pain. Also butt wink, but I think that's a separate issue from the arching.OHP1x5 301x5 32ish3x5 42ish3x10 24ishI say "ish" because there was this strange looking, smaller than Olympic bar, but it didn't look like the standard 15- or 20-lb bars (or whatever they are). So I weighed it on their scale and it came out around 12.2. It will be nice when my OHP gets awesome again and I don't have to use that puny crap. I also missed my last 2 sets of OHP because I was trying to cram 2 workouts into one day and I was already late coming back to work Then,.42 mile run 4:42 Ugh. ----- So, has anyone else had this happen? Ever since I started hitting it hard again, I just haven't been hungry. I feel like I have to force myself to eat. I've been trying to make sure I get enough protein, but I guess I haven't really been tracking. I dunno. I just feel like I've been eating less. Last night for dinner I had a pork chop (medium sized) and a little bit of that rice crap that comes out of the box. Today I had some breakfast scramble that I made at around 7 when I got here. Then I worked out at noon. And just now, at 2 pm, I'm eating lunch, but I'm not experiencing any hunger. I don't know what to make of it. Sometimes when I go for a run I'm not hungry for hours afterwards, but this is...days. Over a week. Level ? I proclaim it a still-good workout. For the squat problem, have you ever tried them with a full stop/pause in the hole?
