leighanne1941
As the title implies I have entered two challenges previously but never quite made it through till the end. But this time I'm pretty determined. I've been making good strides with my fitness/weight loss goals and now I'm ready to get back to strength training. I thought about waiting for the next challenge but I want to stop putting it off and just get to it Goals: 1. Eat primarily Paleo. Exceptions: quinoa, store bought balsamic vinaigrette, dip for my raw veggies and a once a week non paleo meal. I also have a few recipes that I cook for the family that use some non paleo ingredients. I'm trying to ease them into Paleo eating as well but I have to do it stealthily lol.2. Get up to using the Advanced body weight circuit. I'm starting at the beginner body weight routine. I plan to do the routine every other day, increasing reps/weight whenever possible and moving up to advanced moves when possible. ie if I can complete all of the squats I will move up to single leg squats even if I am not ready to move up to pull ups.3. Fit back into my pre pregnancy jeans (my "baby" turns three on the challenge finish date). I originally had this as get back to my pre pregnancy weight. But I realized that I don't really care what the scale says, I just want to wear my cute clothes again! I plan on doing a variety of cross training (yoga, running, zumba) on non strength days to help with this. Life Goals: 1. Get up to 50 items in my etsy shop.2. EDIT: Do at least one marketing task per business day This is the year to ramp up my small business!! Monday is my weigh/measure day so tomorrow morning I will post my starting measurements. I plan on checking in at least 3 times a week but may end up doing it daily just to make it a habit I believe not updating regularly was a big reason I gave up on the previous challenges. 1 Challenge 1 Challenge 2 Current ChallengeRandom Treat Free Streak: 10 Days (start 05/28) Link to comment

Thanks for the pep quotes After thinking about your comment about the life goal I think you are right. I chose a number as a way to get myself focused on doing some marketing tasks, which I have been extremely slack about. So I am going to edit that goal to be something I actively do. Thanks! Denniah
Third time is the charm if you decide it is! Consistency is hard, especially with a little one, but I have faith you can do it and will cheer you on every step of the way. My goals are pretty similar to yours, so if you ever need anything feel free to hit me up. Maybe we can help keep each other accountable and strong to the end? My big weakness and downfall is beer, so I'm cutting out drinking entirely for the six weeks. I used the Rebel Strength Guide last year and got amazing results in six weeks, so I know it can be done. Congrats on not being afraid to pick it back up and do it! Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done. - Robert A. Heinlein Link to comment

My start weight is close to your start weight and goal similar to your current Diet pepsi is my downfall and I had waaaaay too much over the last week so it will be a challenging first couple days getting off it again. leighanne1941
Day 1 Update Going primal: I thought this would be easy because I've been trying to eat primarily primal for a while now. But today was an eyeopener. No eating the crusts off the kids' toast. No sharing jellybeans after skating. No nibbling on the goldfishes. But I held the line and made it through. Bodyweight:15 squats10 pushups (this is huge for me! 3 weeks ago I could barely eke out 3. And I'm even doing the "real" ones lol)12 walking lunges (6 each side)20 bent over rows @10lbs (10 each side, gonna bump up to 15 next time)30 second plank30 jumping jacks20 single leg calf raises (10 each side) Cute Clothes: 1 hour hot yoga class. It was a really hard class that shredded my leg muscles. Hence the cut back in the bodyweight routine. I'm hoping to avoid being unable to walk the day after a workout. Life goals:1. Added an item to my shop and have another ready to be added tomorrow2. 4 tasks today! Overall a great first day! Oh yeah and I took my measurements. Adding them here for reference. leighanne1941
Day 2 Update Eats: Rocked this today! The husband promised the kids a trip to Subway for dinner tonight. I could have used my cheat meal to have a sub but I didn't want to on day 2. So I asked on the paleo board and went with the roast chicken salad. I'll admit it was tough to watch everyone else eat my favorite kind of cookies but I'm pretty proud that I stuck to my plan. BBW: Rest day The jeans: I took my before picture (see above). I rocked out a hot yoga class. And I made a pretty big decision. I'm putting away the scale for the duration of the challenge. I'm eating paleo to keep my blood sugar in check and mood stable. I'm working out to look better. If I don't lose a pound but fit into the jeans I'll be thrilled. I weighed in yesterday for a starting weight (204) and will not weigh in again until the end of the challenge. I will take pictures and measurements every 2 weeks. Life goals: I spent an hour doing marketing tasks today. A great second day and I'm diving into the forums full tilt I've always faded out because I didn't feel any connection to the community. This time around I'm committed to making a solid effort. Challenge 1 Challenge 2 Current ChallengeRandom Treat Free Streak: 10 Days (start 05/28) Link to comment

leighanne1941
I've got a perfect storm of binge triggers going on this morning I've got a wicked sinus cold that kept me up through most of the night. My youngest is especially whiny this morning and I have to go to the grocery store EEEEK. So I am declaring for all to read that this will NOT be a cheat day. I will stick to paleo all day today. afflictionreckoning
I love quinoa! It's the one thing I won't go Paleo because of. Not sure what kind of balsamic vinaigrette you're using, but I make my own out of olive oil and balsamic vinegar so I know it doesn't add any unnecessary sugar (I actually like the balsamic vinegar on it's own, but it is quite expensive...). Great start so far! Sorry to hear about your cold, but it looks like you're battling back with fierce determination. I know it's hard to stick to the challenges. I've started many and completed none. Maybe we can stay on top of one another! Good luck! You can do this! Human Ranger (Lvl 2) Be the author of your own adventure. Fitocracy -- Challenge 1: AR's Return Link to comment
