bgvanbur
Nice goals with a theme. Paper clutter seems to add up so quickly if you don't work on it regularly. For us, we have a crate with hanging folders in our bedroom anything that is important or currently adding new papers. In the basement we have a filing cabinet for the older folders that are not needed often. Now that we are caught up on the paper clutter, we just make sure once a month everything gets filed where it needs to go and seems to work for us. huSTLer
Love this theme! (Even if they're not all Avengers) You and I actually have a couple of similar goals - to continue the momentum built up in running, and start strength training and experimenting with free weights. I think clutter is a problem for everyone, so don't feel bad or guilty. The only rule for getting it under control is to create a place for everything, and then just make sure that everything winds up in its place ASAP. I have problems with the second part. aimless
So far have done one run, and one weights workout... I'm working on bigger full-body movements that I haven't tried before, so I'm sore in lots of little places I forgot existed!! (Weird... like it's not supposed to hurt when you put on deodorant, right?!?!?) I tried deadlifts, and actually LIKE them! (shocker!) ...I'm starting at 45 pounds for deadlifts. Also pulling my body up row-style on TRX bands (my husband called them Renegade Rows, or something like that?) and doing throw-down squats with a 15 pound medicine ball. I found a 5K in September that I've actually convinced some girls at work to do with me (Dirty Girl Mud Run) here... and I'm signing up for a 5 mile run on April 28th... First organized runs!!! I'm EXCITED!!! I also have the dining room totally torn apart with the beginning phases of the paper-clutter war. I told the kids to get comfortable eating dinner on the couch for the week, cause that's a project I can't put away and take back out. I'm finding all the hidden boxes/bags/etc of stashed papers and bringing them out to the light of day. I've already gotten rid of a 55 gallon garbage bag of junk, and have burned at least half that much again that had personal info on it. The war is ON! I've gone over my 1L of water intake each day... averaging 1.5-2L. Yay! I found an app for my phone that breaks it down into time intervals instead of distance intervals. Run until the music stops then walk until the music starts back up. aimless
Made it out today to run... sucked it up and did it in the snow because the weekend's jam-packed (one kid swimming in Districts far far away, another one competing in Solo and Ensemble and husband working all weekend) and I know it's unlikely another run will happen. As it stands, I have now done my 3 runs of the week, so on track there. FInished w5d2 today... first time I've ever run an 8-minute interval... and *eek* looked at the next run, and it's TWENTY minutes in a row without walking!!!! (scary!)Have done strength training twice... surprisingly to myself, I've been liking it!Have met or exceeded my water goal every day so far... but have yet to take it that step further and try to limit my coffee or wine... need to get on that.Followed my meal plan all week long, and have not had to make any 'emergency' trips to the store.Continuing to work on paper clutter goal. Spent another 3 hours on it today... slow going there. Stole and then altered fabulous spreadsheet to track goals and progress... LOVE it! (Um... from Haikoo, who I saw on Hammlin's thread, who stole it from someone else.... and someone before that.... it's getting around! It's the Rainbow Spreadsheet of Happiness!!!)
