Lift some weights (barbell, dumbbell, toddler, what-have-you) at least once a week
Go rogue and incorporate the Assassin’s Beginning Parkour Workout 3x/week

Ranger Base: Scout STA +3; DEX +2 Graded Weekly
A: 4/4; B: 3/4; C: 2/4;  D: 1/4; F: 0/4
Cardio 3x/week (run, walk, bike, jump rope, what-have-you)
Go rogue and incorporate Monk Plank 3x/week and Druid Pilates / Yoga 1 x/week

Diet & Lifestyle STA +2; CHA +3 Graded Daily
A: 7/7; B: 5-6/7; C: 3-4/7 D:1-2/7 F:0/7
Smoking: 3 or fewer daily   Bonus goal: Track personal record and total days without any cigarettes

Life Goal WIS+3; CHA +2 Graded per item
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification: Pay fees in March; Take one test each week, to begin April 1; WIS +1
PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) Certification: take one test every week until complete April 26 WIS+1
Update wardrobe: Have skirts altered; Buy three new tops CHA +1
Move house (yes, that is just as big and scary and painful as it sounds, and I am thrilled, which is making me smile) WIS +1, CHA +1

I wanted to increase the flexibility of the plan, so that as long as I was doing weights or strength or cardio, I was sticking to my vision.

You're gonna be a black belt? Awesome!

 

Yes. I completed Lean and Green in the summer, and I'm looking forward to the Black. It will mean I am a Master Six Sigma when I roll it all together.

 

I like having the class base, but stealing (nay, "borrowing") from other guilds.  Looks like another awesome challenge!

Last challenge I made "borrowing" a goal in its own right -- now I'm trying to be all Rangersome and make what i "borrowed" part of the base work. I'm crafty like that. :)

The Morning Report

 

I am totally stoked to have gotten back to the gym.
I feel like a new woman.
I forgot to list my stuff from Tuesday, but it is on the battle log spreadsheet.
Also, I have been doing something every day on my list of Life Goals, and it feels great to be making progress, even if it is just baby steps. 
 
Sleep: 9   
Cardio: Bike 30 minutes @ level 4 6.25 miles [186.25 total] 
Weights: Deadlift 45# 2 sets of 10 
Abs:
20 incline Russian Ab Twists with 7.5# dumbbell
2 sets of 10 leg lifts
Pull-ups: 1 @ 25# assist, 1 @ 40# assist, 1 @ 55# assist
Push-ups: 2 sets of 10
Water: 96 ounces 
Food:
4 eggs with 2 slices of provolone, basil and black pepper
One can Progresso Italian Wedding Soup
A handful of baby carrots with balsamic vinaigrette dressing, two dill pickles
Plank 1:30; 1:14, 1:37
Life Goals: 
  • On Sunday I cleaned out the jeep.
  • On Monday I took tests 2 and 3 for the Risk Management Professional Certification
  • On Tuesday I dropped the Clothes For Donation box (mountain!) at a collection point
  • On Wednesday I made and posted a weekly routine with chores clearly defined and scheduled
  • On Wednesday I planned a Once-A-Month cooking menu and scheduled it. I'll have pictures and a progress report next week. Video, too, if I can talk my brother into giving up his Saturday for me. Details are in a document, which includes a shopping list.
  • Today I submitted a copy of my 2011 taxes to the mortgage company (paperwork! we hates it we does!)
  • Today I filed to have my name changed (Courthouses and Legal Stuff! It's like living in a Kafka novel!)

You'll have to let me know how that parkour workout goes. I've been thinking of adding that in to my own routine. Im already feeling like I do quite a bit of exercise but if I want to get into freerunning, then I'm going to have to start building my upper body and my precision.

Hello Heidi :)

Just wanted to drop by to take a look at you challenge and wish you good luck! I hope you manage to accomplish all your goals :)

 

Do I understand this right? You want to do Strength training 4 times a weeks, as well as 3 times Assassin's Bodyweigth stuff? Or just a mix of those two added up to 4 overall? 

Also what is your diet goal? 

 

I really like that you keep your goals flexible. If it works for you, it's awesome! 

Excuse my ignorance on the topic, but what is a 6sigma? Whatever it may be, being a blackbelt in it sure is great :)

The Weekend Report

Saturday I cooked a planned fest for freezing and storage to help streamline the dinner-after-work-before-karate hour. Food and friends and good times.

I know it probably sounds crazy to say that my Pilates day is like a rest day for me, since there is plenty of workout going on. But honestly, it is restorative at the soul level. After a post-Pilates nap, I cleaned the house a bit and overall felt grounded and centered to face the coming week.

Week One Report: Dominated!

I really felt solid this week -- not a rock star or anything (well, ok maybe when I was deadlifting) but just getting it done as planned. I liked that feeling a lot, and the flexibility that I incorporated into the goals has made a huge difference in feeling a sense of control and competence. 

 

I'm overall very satisfied with this week, though the water intake and cigarettes are still not where they need to be.

 

Assassin: 3/3 A

Warrior Weight: 2 of 1 A+

Scout Cardio: 3/3 A

Monk Plank: 3/3 A

Druid Yoga: 1/1 A

Cigarettes: 3/7 C

Life: RMP at 50% A+
