OtakuJolyn
Hey guys, So today, I found this sugar blocking pill supplement. I was tempet to buy it, but didn't. It was basically Chromium and Gymnema sylvestre, and one more thing which i forget... I wanted to know your thoughts and any types of tips on other similar supplements. Synyster
I hear "Sugar blocking" and think of people with issues of too much glucose. I wouldn't recommend taking it, unless you talk to your doctor about it first. If you're eating a very clean, healthy diet, you don't need any "Sugar blocking supplement." Quote Link to comment
notanartmajor
If you don't want sugar in your diet, don't eat sugar. No need to add crazy chem blockers. If you have a problem consuming too much sugar, this pill only enables you to let your problem get worse. Fix the problem instead and save your money. Quote Link to comment
Waldo
What on earth? Sugar blocking? Throwing money at the problem isn't going to help you lose weight. Typical American consumer culture is the cause of weight problems in the first place and a large bottomless money pit with no results exists for people to try to lose weight the typical American consumer culture way; unfortunately you can't buy things to make the fat go away. goodwince
From my understanding the sugar blockers are actually supposed to help you block ingesting them. It's supposed to help lower the cravings for sugar helping you avoid your desire to eat them. I'm not familiar with them beyond that. If that's the reason you wanted to use them and with further research you can't find negative effects to your body.. I don't see a complete problem with them. I think the end goal should always be to eat healthy, but sometimes we need an extra push. I do not think they will actually prevent you from gaining weight from eating sugar.. if that's what you're thinking? I was hoping that, using the sugar blocker, it would help me not intake any of those pesky hidden sugars into my system that would sabotage my diet and weight loss. Also hoping it would assist with kicking my cravings for the sweets while eating healthy. If you take massive handfuls of laxatives with every meal, it'll block most of the calories from being absorbed too. That doesn't mean that it's the right way to eat healthy. Joe_Cannon
Ive looked at the chromium research for many years and I can tell you that the research uslaly says it does not work. it does not cause weight loss and it does not build muscle. It may reduce blood sugar so be carful if taking meds for diabetes. most sugar/carb blocker supplements contain an extract of kidney beans (which are carbs-ironic huh!) but the research finds it does not block carb absorption. remember gaining weight is not about carbs - its about calories. Just my 2 cents but I say save your money on sugar blocker supplements I hope some of this helps. Joe Quote Joe Cannon MS CSCSJoe-Cannon.comSupplement-Geek.com Link to comment
