aj_rock
This does seem rather serious :/ hope you get that fully checked out! Why must I put a name on the foods I choose to eat and how I choose to eat them? Rather than tell people that I eat according to someone else's arbitrary rules, I'd rather just tell them, I eat healthy. And no, my diet does not have a name.My daily battle log! Link to comment
catspaw
After some consideration, the next time I get a wave of feeling better, I'm gonna go to the craft supply store and buy some markers and then paint my mask to look like Bane. Pallas Athena
Cats are good healers... Don't know if this would make a difference or not, but I'd personally recommend visiting a naturopath for this kind of thing instead of a regular MD. Naturopaths tend to offer less drastic and often more effective approaches to these kinds of things. At least that's been my experience. Glad the mask is helping, at least. Feel better soon! weirdquark
Re: Pause squats. OMG yes. I did these 5x5 for my 'back-off' sets for the program I was doing at the beginning of the year and even starting at half my 1RM felt hard. I was able to keep adding weight without failing better than I expected but every time felt super grindy. I know, right?! I was aiming for sets of 10, but I kept finding that while I sat in the hole ("ONLY 3 secs...c'mon Catspaw...") I'd lose tension somewhere and getting it back is pretty much impossible until you get back to the top. In that respect, they almost felt more plank-like than squat-like. so glad you are feeling better! Me toooooo... I had a particularly bad spell today, but the majority of the day was a whoooole lot better. Your progress on stuff is really good. You really attack weak points. It pays off in the long run. Coming from you, this is a huuuuuuge complement. It's my fave complement of the day. And today I had a stranger (male) say to me: "I love your hair. If I wasn't all about the dick, I'd have a huge crush on you." So that's the kind of competition you're up against. Bb squats are hard! If you decide they don't suck enough try squatting from the pins...it's aweful. Same sort of deal, right? Complete and utter stop at the bottom. The 3 second pause at the bottom at 95 lbs is about equal in difficulty for me to maybe 155 lbs back squat in normal circumstances. I chose 95 lbs because the plates fit nicely (heh heh heh) but I might deload it further next time to bust out even more reps instead. Glad you're feeling better! Meeee tooooo. See, I read this and I saw your workout and I'm scared to see you intense O.o Cats, I hope you're feeling better and I hope that your new Darth Vader/Bane alter ego doesn't take over other cities/planets I dunno, Red, I'm flying to NY tomorrow morning............WATCH OUT, NEW YORK. weirdquark
Pause squats and squatting from the safeties is kind of similar, yeah, though the later you have to get tense at the bottom to start the lift and the former you're holding on the tension for longer than usual. So I'd guess pause squats are better for helping you maintain tension at the bottom and squatting up from the safeties is good for helping you recover if you lose tension while in the hole. catspaw
Had a health incident on the plane ride. I think it was due to the nasal steroids, though who really knows -- unrelenting pressure headache that caused nose bleed and tears in pain.
