leighanne1941
After making some awesome progress in my last challenge and starting the forward momentum, I'm looking to keep it going this challenge. 1. Strength train - I'll be following the edit: dumbell workout in the Rebel Strength Guide. 3 workouts per week. After completing all of my bodyweight workouts in the last challenge but not progressing as far as I liked, I realized I wasn't pushing as hard as I could. This time around I will be focusing on really pushing myself. I want to feel some soreness the day after a workout!A=18 workouts B=15-17 workouts C=12-14 workouts D=9-11 workouts F= <9 workouts 2. Cardio - 3 workouts per week (running, zumba or yoga). At least one of these workouts must be running. I am making a tentative goal to get my 5K time down to 36.xx On Tuesday I ran 5K in 38.45 which was a full minute faster than the week before. This is a doable goal as long as my foot injury doesn't flare up.A=18 workouts B=15-17 workouts C=12-14 workouts D=9-11 workouts F=<9 workouts 3. Eat 90% Paleo Last challenge I made a goal to eat Paleo but one cheat per week. This was too restrictive and was problematic when I had 3 events in one week. I've been thinking and calculating for the last couple of weeks and believe I've found a good balance. I generally eat 3 meals and 2 snacks per day (occasionally 3 snacks if I'm hungry but not often). That works out to 210 meals/snacks over the 6 weeks. 10% equals 21 cheat meals/snacks. As before, my salad dressing and quinoa are allowed.A=90%+ B=80%or above C=70% or above D=60% or above F=<60% Life Goal When I got pregnant with my first daughter, I started a journal for her. I jotted down my thoughts, stats about the pregnancy and then her growth, funny stories. Basically anything I wanted to remember and she might like to read some day. I did this fairly consistently until my second daughter was born and life got crazy. My poor baby only has one third of a journal filled compared to 3 full journals for the oldest, who hasn't had anything written in two years I got myself convinced I had to write pages per night per girl and hwen I couldn't do that I did nothing. On Tuesday I brought their journals up to put on my bedside table and I am committing to writing in each of them every night until it becomes a habit. Even if I only write 2 lines, it is better than not writing at all.A=42 days B=35-42 days C = 30-35 days D=25-30 days F=<25 days. Bonus goal: Make myself one piece of clothing. I have material and patterns for at least half a dozen but have never gotten to the actual cutting stage. I sew every other item you can imagine without issue but for some reason sewing clothing for myself terrifies me! Starting stats: Weight: 195 Chest: 42Waist: 38Hip: 41R. Thigh: 26R. Arm: 13.25 Before Photos My only goal with these is to be smaller. Although my prepregnancy weight was 187 and it would be lovely to see that in 6 weeks time! The scale is in the closet and will remain there for the duration of the challenge Oh and would someone please harass me until I get a profile pic up! 1 Challenge 1 Challenge 2 Current ChallengeRandom Treat Free Streak: 10 Days (start 05/28) Link to comment

cline
I love that you are trying to find a workable paleo balance. Keep trying!! And the 5k goal is so doable. The journal goal is really the most awesome I AM going the distance 'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood. Minimal workouts, ate pretty much all of my favorite non Paleo foods. I'm pretty sure if I retook my before photo yesterday it would not look the same. But those weeks are a good reminder of why I am doing this. I felt bloated and tired and moody. Of course, it was also PMS week so the eating and side effects could easily have been linked to that Today just felt really good. At least until we heard the horrible news about Boston. Quite a few local runners were down there and a woman I work with would have been scheduled to finish right around that time. It was a stressful hour while we waited to hear about all of them. Thankfully, they are all safe, although shaken up. But I still spent several hours feeling stunned and sad about the whole situation Challenge 1 Challenge 2 Current ChallengeRandom Treat Free Streak: 10 Days (start 05/28) Link to comment
littlewings
Good first day on the workouts and food! I agree about the Boston marathon, it was a tragic drop on the day. I'm glad your friends were safe, though. Also I totally agree with the off week!
