Hi everyone! I'm here. I was too busy worrying about my race to think up a challenge. And now it's here!  I'm not 100% sure what to do. I have 2 goals worked out, but I'm iffy on the other two.  My theme is to enjoy life because too many tragic things these past (now) 3 weeks have struck close to home and I'm ready to live my life like it should be lived!

So far I have using my workouts as time to play and try new things, and my second is to finally do those healthy pinterest recipes I've been pinning all these months.I'm sure about those. The other two are to drink (hot unsweetened)tea when I feel like having something sweet and to do 30 minutes of dance-cleaning per day, but I am not quite as excited about those. 

My challenge will be up as soon as I can collect myself.

I epic failed last challenge - I'm not even going to count it, I just got so behind and didn't keep up with either my workouts or (importantly) logging my progress here! I feel SO BAD, GUYS.

I'd love to do better this time - I think I've got more realistic goals given what happened to my family and my life situation - but I know I'm going to need help, and someone to kick my ass if they see me on Twitter/Reddit and not posting here.

Any volunteers?

Good luck with your challenge! Finally making some recipes you've wanted to make for ages but never got around to doing is so satisfying :)

If you go through with your tea goal, maybe try some new flavours while you're at it. I really love lady earl grey(/lady grey) or black tea with fruity flavours (lemon and orange is good, but if you really want something sweet try tropical fruits or mango or something like that). Herbal infusions are also an option (if you like those, I hate them ;)). What's your actual goal here, though? Reducing sugar? Losing weight? Just trying it to get rid of sugar/sweeteners in your tea? That might give you (and us) an idea of what to change to make it a better/more interesting goal.

Amazon has a bunch of Lady Grey.  Not sure on the quality of the brands they offer, though.  I'm a tea newbie!

I did just that. I decided to incorporate the tea with meditation and dancing/cleaning with accepting that my life is going to be messy for the time being.

I'm doing just that. I bought a bunch of samples from the bulk tea section at Central Market which has some pretty awesome teas. Thanks!

Also another question for everyone!  How do you keep up with reading and replying to everyone's challenge threads?  And if you don't follow everyone, how do you choose who to follow?  I would love to read about and learn from everyone!

 

I do basically what sammiejune does, if I didn't I'd spend all my time on my computer and never do any of my own stuff. Which is very easy for me to do, I'm actively trying to do less of it. I keep adding one or two threads that I pay attention to to each challenge, but I don't often post in many unless I feel I can comment directly on something. I've never been one for general 'rah rah, go you!' type comments, though maybe I should be more...

Where are you finding Lady Grey tea? I have a friend who loves it but I can never find it anywhere...

I'm not sure about where you are, but we have this store 'Simon Levelt' and they have great teas, but Twinings also has Lady Grey (teabags). As far as teabags go it's really quite good :) Should be available online.

Have you tried Fitocracy?  It's a lot of fun.

I'm on Fitocracy. I bounce back and forth between there and here. It's pretty awesome. Sometimes it can be hard trying to figure out what label to use for an exercise to get it to log, but people are pretty helpful with suggestions. Also, I just leveled up tonight! Yay!

I... I really just use my notes app (on iphone, but really it just takes notes) if I don't have my computer on for immediate logging.

After I input it into my excel sheet and delete the note.

Yeah I keep a pretty basic tracking method :tongue:

Every time I do something relevant to my challenge goals, I tweet about it: @KawaChallenge. Since I'm on TweetDeck handling multiple Twitter accounts all the time anyway, it's trivial for me to toss in a "oh, I did fifteen push ups"/"oh, I ate an ear of corn"/"oh, I called School Y about teaching" tweet now and then to the dedicated account. Then every night, I check the account, summarize my progress, and post in my challenge thread. The I tweet a quick "oh, I logged up to this point" Tweet, so I know where to start from for the next day. It's working really well so far!

Man I'm jelly.

Those warriors have all the fun. Virtual powerlifing meets. A PVP competition to see who can lose the most fat.

We've got the poses in weird places thread (still meaning to download a phone timer app so I can join ze fun). At one point the idea of a virtual bodybuilding comp was posed in the lifting forum before being shot down, and before he was banned Eduard was all about BBing type things.

But I think us assassins do the best pics; progress photos and exercise photos (plus we have the best looking exercises).

...I think....we should have an awesomest photo comp.

We could have multiple categories, exercise, modeled (progress photos or not, somethat that shows YOU), creative, etc...

Obviously this would have to be at some point fairly far in the future. Could do like the warriors and set a date a few months off give everyone plenty of time to prepare.

Thoughts?

I've tried Fitocracy, I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. It just seemed like a lot of work to enter stuff in LOL! I'm lazy, gotta be simple! I love the Twitter idea, probably the best use for Twitter I've seen ;-) I've downloaded a few random apps I'll test them out and see what I come up with. I'll probably end up just in my note app too haha!

That would be super cool!  I looove taking pictures of myself!  Definitely something to think about.

 

I broke down and got a timer app so I didn't have to try and look at the clock while in a handstand....gets a little tough after a while.

Pictures or video contest would be definitely nice and I will even have a nice place to display them :P

It would be fun to make a video showing your progression with an exercise!  I think I am going to start doing that, just for fun!
