I havent even introduced myself at the forums, must do it later.

It's my first week of NerdFitnessing in practice, i'v been reading the blog for quite a bit longer than that.

Yesterday was actually my second workout following the Rebel Fitness Guide.

I signd up spot on: openning of 6WC!

 

Let's have it:

 

I'm a 23 y/o brazilian guy, almost graduating at college.

I'm 6'1" (1,85cm - i might get lost with this metrics stuff).

My weighting days r wednesdays, when i had 257.5 pounds (116,8kg).

As i said, just began this week my working out routines, so i'm still prettey noob at it.

 

I also dont have a char, but i'll assign APs so i can distribute them along later.

 

My goals:

 

1) Drop at least 7.7 pounds (3,5kg).

Getting this way to 249.8lb or 113,3kg  (yeah, i bet you guys really needed me to solve this complex math equation :tongue:)

CON 2 (1.5, 1, 0.5, 0)

STR 1 (0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0) - As i am focusing on eating healthier and weight trainning w/ my Rebel Workouts

A: 7.7lb / 3,5kg or more

B: 6.6lb / 3,0kg

C: 5.5lb / 2,5kg

D: 4.4lb / 2,0kg

F: 4,2lb / 1,9kg or less

 

2) Cut out soda completly.

CON 2 (1.5, 1, 0.5, 0)

WIS 2 (0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0) - I think it's very wise of to quit on soda :tongue:

A: 0 soda

B: 1 glass (200ml)

C: 1 can (375ml)

D: 3 glasses (600ml)

F: 3 glasses and a sip or else

 

3) Attend to my stretching classes 2x every week

This one is actually a preparation to a further goal, as i want to join the Muay Thai classes in my gym later. 

DEX 2 (1.5, 1, 0.5, 0)

CON 1 (0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0)

A: 100% attendance (12 classes)

B: 80ish% attendance (10 classes)

C: 65ish% attendance (8 classes)

D: 50% attendance (6 classes)

F: 5 classes or less

 

LifeLvln) Organize the GIGANTIC mess in my bedroom.

There will be photos hahahah.

STR 3 (2.25, 1.5, 0.75, 0) - There is some heavy stuff hanging around here.

CHA 2 (1.5, 1, 0.5, 0) - Or at least the possibility of having people around.

A: Desktop, crates, floor and  bookshelves organized 

B: Desktop, crates and floor

C: Desktop and crates

D: Desktop

F: None

 

For a possible total of

STR +4

DEX +2

CON +5

WIS +2

CHA +2

 

BTW, nevermind the english horrors i probably wrote!

Welcome Muryanp! You've got some good goals, but if i could recommend changing your first goal up a little.  Weight can be very tricky and somedays you can lose 5kg and then the next day have picked up 7kg - very tricksy and demotivating. Maybe measure by body fat weight loss or choose an item of clothing that you almost fit into as a goal.  Good luck and we're thrilled to have you.

This is a nice list of starting goals! And I notice you also chose a goal that helps you with an another goal (cut off soda --> lose weight). Smart indeed, man. I respect that :friendly_wink:

 

Heheh, got to make sure it works! I wouldv had a goal very close to one of yours, the yoga thing, but the damn yoga classes at my gym are way too early, and as i study at night there would be much too little hours to sleep - wich is actually also bad for the other lose weight and build muscle goals... And i'm not very fond of trying it out just by myself, maybe when i get a little more prepared.

Hm, dully noted.

I have no way to measure my body fat, so i think i'll go with my waist measurements. Just kinda took the measures here, my biggest waist circunference measures 119cm.

I have no idea, though, on how to create an estimative of progression through 6 weeks. I could pick dropping 10cm and this could be either too little or too much, hahah, no clue.

Btw, jus followd you on twitter, i'm beginning to love it there (better late).

So, I'v got this question regarding goal # 2 that maybe someone can help me w.

 

Sparkling water: i read the label and found nothing related to calories, sugar nor other bad stuff. 

But is it bad if instead of going only water, i drink it now and then? 

Is it bad/good/indifferent to my health?

Should it be quitted along w the soda?

Day #1

 

Not the best way of beginning any challenge: More than 2h stuck at traffic jam on my way back home from work. On a bus. Standing.

Neverminding it, i'm now going to the gym for the starting of my 2nd week of rebel training, so, yay me o/

When i get back home i'll tell you goal by goal how day one went down.

And i'll invite you all to my intimacy and upload photos of my messy messy bedroom.

Day #1 continues...

 

So, back i am from the gym.

Let's see how it was, today:

 

Goal#1) Well, AngelBlaidd to change this goal for other measuring system. I'm keeping them both - because i'm not sure i can properly measure myself: waist size (larger circumference measured, 2" beneath belly button) and lb(kg).

So I'm beginning it 257.5 lbs (116,8kg), and 119cm for my waist size.

 

Today: It was all going fine until i spent 2h30 extra hours stuck at traffic, and it twisted my schedule, so i had to eat latter, and go to the gym later ( i actually arrived at my gym 10pm and left it 11h20pm).

But it all turned out fine, so i'm on track w this goal.

Btw: at first it was very awkward for someone like myself that dont like the spotlights to be one in few at my gym doing stuff like jumping jacks, squats and free/body weight stuff. Now i kinda like it hahah.

 

Goal#2) Although it started today, i'm already one week free of soda.

Just keep swimming.

 

Goal#3) The classes start tomorrow, so i have to sleep earlier today.

So far so nothing happened.

Muryanp, I will upload photos of my room in a few days, it is horrible and I am 41, married w 2 kids. It's gotten worse as I started grad school and have had some anxiety & depression issues, and inherited some good furniture from my grandparents that I haven't done anything with. It just feels like 'stuff' everywhere. We can do this!

I'll be brief cos typing in this effing iPod w portuguese autocorrection is really a bmmr.

Goal#1) Still doing good, today was a muscle resting day so i just jogged a little.

Ate ok, so nothing new.

Goal#2) Still soda free (but not since 1993).

Discovered that squeezing some lemon in the sparkling water is really good.

Goal#3) \o/ i woke up earlier and attended to my first stretching class!

Liked it big time. I was going for yoga but these class are the only accessible rigor now.

My bedroom is all the same, i'll only have time for it in the weekend as i'm át. The semester s end at College so lots of due dates, exames, deadlines and stuff.

I agree about the berries, or juice. I'm not a big sparkling water fan, but I'm from the south where we drink gallons of iced tea (unsweet!) so that works for me. Adding a teensy bit of tart cherry juice always kicks stuff up for me, if you like the tart taste.

Finally my pc turnd on, so up to a proper posting.

 

@AngelBlaidd i think it’s because i typed it at Word and copy/pasted here. My pc keeps turning off so i have to save every sentence i wrote not to lose it. I'll try and figure out what happened. Let me know if it keeps little.

So...

 

Day #3

 

Goal#1) Went to the gym (actually just got back), and i'm watching my meals and trying to eat more regularly, every 3h.

I think ill weight myself tomorrow morning as i chose it as my weighting time (although i said wednesday i actually could only weight the next morning, which will be regular).

 

Goal#2) Feeling suupa confident on this one, i think i'll keep soda free forever. Hahah, being realistic: still no soda, but it is the weekend that come with its temptations.

 

Goal#3) I have actually to turn the pc now and go to bed to wake up early and attend tomorrow's class, my second. But so far so did-it-once.

 

As for the messy bedroom i'm managing not to increase the mess. Weekends i'll have time to organize this tons of stuff outa place.

husband was a huge soda freak so we teamed up and bought him a "soda stream" (CO2 charger/ dispenser).  He adds juice concentrate to it and lots of ice.  Over the 2 years he has had it, he has dropped the concentrate lower and lower so it's now very little.  He now says that soda is too sweet. hooray!

 

regarding the bedroom, if it is bothering you, cleaning it up will make you feel great!  go for it.

Nice goals - and first few days!

 

I've taken Muay Thai classes at a MMA gym; you will definitely appreciate learning to stretch and becoming more flexible!

 

Also, I promise, your room is not too terrible - mine is honestly at least five times worse. :)

unfortunately that's human nature - we think! and then sometimes we overthink and sometimes we think about too many things at the same time.  But the trick is learning to not let the thinking overwhelm you :)

 

"Bad" days happen.  Just take them in your stride and enjoy the little things in those days :) Have a good weekend.
