Day #25

 

Wtf, how did the number 25 get there so fast?

 

An unbelievable day off the web i have to tell you about.

Weighting day as well.

Lets hit it w day #24 first.

 

After all i've been through yesterday I am really scared of how much time consuming the web is.

Not being able to go tech I did tons of stuff!

 

1) Woke up and cleanned and uncluttered my ENTIRE room. Seriously, Goal #4 is done, i just have to keep it up now. The room is awesome, by the way.

I'm wondering if I get the photos now or if only at week #6.

 

2) Sanded and painted a box we bought about an year ago to organize the medicines that end up being everywhere otherwise. Hole box painted to resemble a box of medicine (rivotril actually :P).

 

3) Went down to the shopping mall and bought my gf her birthday present, got myself a lighter (i just love them), got my mom her mother's day gift and bought some thermal paste to apply on my vga. Also ran out of money. :P

 

4) Got back home and washed 3 of my pairs of shoes, completly.

 

5) Went to the gym to my workout session.

 

6) Came back home, disassembled my pc, cleand it up and applied the thermal paste (this actually ended after midnight so i turnd the pc on just to check if i hadnt destroyed it).

 

Just, wow.

 

About today:

 

1) Weighted my self and i am currently at 114,25 kg. No loss from last week, but thats fine, as i said i did really had a lame end of week #3 and beginning of week #4.

No trouble here, as i am only down to 1kg yet to lose and still have 2 more weeks. Things are going great, i got right back on track after that little bump.

 

2) I never again drank soda and lived happily ever after.

 

3) I almost missed my stratching classes this week. Waking up on time is really hard. But i managed to accomplish it, so still 100%.

 

4) Done. As I said, incredibly I'm done with my room. Which turns out to be even  better, as i have the new challenge to keep it organized for at least 2 weeks, time I hope will also help me to develop the good habit of keeping it organized always.

 

This week is making me really happy about myself, and it's just awesome³ to feel the self esteem rushing through my veins :D

Yesterday was my gilrfriend's birthday and my brother's college graduation, (and my last day at that reasearch i talked about), reasons why i didn't drop by.

Your room seems so different from the before pictures! This is awesome. It feels great, isn't it?

 

And I love the box. That box rocks. This is a really badass box. Did I mention how much I like your box?

 

It feels so awesome that it pushes me to keep maintaining it organized!

 

Let's first review Week #4:

 

1) Grade: B. Although there were no changes in my weight, i feel like i really stepd up after a bad couple of days and turnd it around. And i think that matters the most.

 

2) Grade: A. I'm running out of ways to tell you that I'm still clean : D.

 

3) Grade: A. Here as well I'm 100% keeping it up.

 

4) Grade: A. You all saw it, finally I did something about my room and I love the result :D

 

Week #4 went by craizily fast. The best of it was the feeling that no matter how bad the weekends are I can always pick it up and keep fighting those bad habits back.

What brings me to...

 

Day# 29

 

Mother's day and my girlfriend's birthday kinda of threw me off my game again, but once more I saw that although craving for some more unhealthy food hits me hard, resisting is never impossible.

Today I almost ate bad like a thousand times, but remembering my commitment to myself kept me from doing it.

A new villain stabbed me from behind though. My brother asked me to install The Sims 3 (damn game) on his pc, so i ended up installing it on mine as well and spent THE ENTIRE DAY playing it..

As I speak to you it hits me that I am not strong enough to resist the temptation and play just for a couple of hours a day. So, by the end of this post it will be uninstalled from my pc.

 

The Sims is the ultimate example of how I spend time building up virtual characters while letting my own life on the side. I mean, I am actually getting my Sim to "study" to get smarter, "workout" to get fitter, "meeting new people" and none of this is getting done in real life. Just lame.

 

I can say that today was my "vacation day" as a semester just ended at college and another one begins thursday (and the last one, finally). The calendar is really messed up because of a 4 month strike that happend last year.

 

Let's kick some asses on week #5!

Mury, don't beat yourself up over a few hours of gaming.  It HASN'T stopped you from achieving what you want to - you're still avoiding soda, your room is clean and you're doing fantastically otherwise.  Cut yourself some slack. You've had a hard semester and the next one starts in a few days - some game time/down time is 100% allowed :)

Day # 30 (first month of my new life \o/)

 

Great day!

No The Sims 3 (my brother listend to my arguments and had me uninstall his as well) and i went out to solve some problems in my mother's laptop (what is it in this house with tec-problems?).

Problems solved.

I had a lot of time to spare, so me and my brother took the volley ball for another spin at the beach until we were too tired to lift our arms. And at the end of the day we took a swim at the sea.

It was great, I wish all of you could've seen those sunset colours in the sky and reflecting in the water. It was like a sea of gold, and when the waves moved it a bit it turned into a purple sea, and then back to that deep blue. And no, I had not used no drugs, at that time :tongue:.

It's a great feeling, feeling the world around with it's colours, smells, tastes and touchs that usually just pass by without being noticed.

When i got back in the house (yo!) I was really tired, but it felt awesome.

 

Challenge wise, same-o, same-o, doing pretty good : )

Reporting for Day #32

 

Yesterday i went out with my best friend and ended up eating this snack we here call "coxinha" (there is no translation to that, i think it's a portuguese recipe - Deep-fried dumpling filled with shredded chicken) and two slices of pizza that i didnt intend nor plannd to. Specially because I have this wedding to attend to on saturdayu and  a barbecue  for my friend's birthday party on sunday.

Oh, almost forgot: and i gave in to one of my weakest spots: sweet treats. After the pizza I had an alfajor and some (and when I say "some" I mean I'm too embarrassed to say 8) chocolate cookies.

 

Food wise this week was not the best of all times. I absolutely must work specifically on diet goals for my next challenge.

 

Today i managed to eat better: Rice and fish for lunch, whole wheat bread with shredded chicken by the afternoon, and a misc of vegetables and 2 not-so-big steaks for dinner. Not ideal though, I'm still not used to doing mornings, specially eating, and i should have more meals during the day with reduced portions. A work in progress.

 

Exercise wise the minichallenge just dropped from the sky: I havent had a single workout this weekend.

It's true i swet my shirt of 2 times (including today) playing beach volleyball with my brother for an entire hour, but my muscles miss those liftings.

I've been sleeping bad and fecking my schedule and not being able to get to the gym, i have to work on this to get a really good week #6.

 

A sad sad thing happend today. I missed my stretching class. Fortunatelly, I can attend another one that takes place on Saturday, but i ask for your help to decide how it should affect my grade on this goal. On the latter of the law i ddnt specified wich classes exactly i should attend, just that i had to attend 2x each week. But i feel i failed myself a little bit not waking up on time.

 

I also missed my weighting day, leaving only the last one left. Guess it'll be a surprise, than. I took photos of myself, and I've decided to post the before and after the challenge, by the end of it, despite how embarrassing it'll be.

WOOT for no soda!

 

Don't stress about the stretching and the lifting, if you're not doing it on planned days but making up for it.  If you only have to do 2x stretching classes a week and you do them on unplanned days, you're still doing 2x stretching classes, right? Right!!  I understand that you want to make it a routine and the only way to do that is to do them according to a plan, but you need to remember that all plans should be slightly flexible and completely adaptable in order to succeed :)

Day #33

 

Just got back from the wedding still soda-free.

Completed my stretchings for the week, : ).

Obvisouly ate really bad at the wedding, but i'll make it up by getting back to my routine.

The room is, at this moment, a little messd, as i just got from the wedding very tired, tomorrow morning i'll straight everything up. 

And now off to get some sleep!

Week #5 Review

 

1) Grade: B. As I've been saying this last week was kind of workoutless. Kind of, because i did spent some hours playing ball w my brother. Food wise it was a week of getting out of the routine, what kinda bothered me. Nonetheless when wearing my belt I found that I actually lost some measures in my waist! I know it's no good weighting off the weighting day but as it is a holiday here tomorrow and my gym wont open i had to do it yesterday. Surprisingly enough the scale showed some weight loss. But I wont trust it too much, as I'm off my weighting day, the challenge's final week will be the true comparison.

Anyway:

 

 

Was: 116,8 / 257.5 

Am: 112,8 / 248.7 

Goal: 113,3 / 249.8 

Total loss: 4 kg / 8.8lb

 

I actually past my goal in 0,5 kg. Let's hope it's for real, we'll know it next week.

 

2) Grade: A. emptation knock my door once or 200 times. But I kept clean :).

 

3) Grade: A. Kind of an A-, as I attended to an extra class to make up for one i missed. But 9/9 so far (I attended to it yesterday).

 

4) Grade: A. Room still neat, clean and organized :D.

 

Day #38 (is it?)

 

All I have to add is that it feels great to be back at the liftings, thanks to AngelBlaidd and the #5 Minichallenge.

Day #40

 

Two more challenge days left. Six weeks flew, wow..

This week's been more of a taking it easy week. 

All my stretching classes were attended. I've been a little slopy w food, but havent give it up, I'm still being cautious not to throw away 5 weeks of better habits been built.

I'm actually vaguely strating to think of my next challenge goals, after all I've learned from this.

I'll talk more about it when i review my entire challenge.

 

I'll do it properly then, but i could never thank enough all of you that keep bothering to come here and cheer me up!

You guys are just unbelievably awesome! I hope my sporadic visit to your topics helpd you at least half what you did for me :D

 

My goals for those three last days (fri, sat and sun) is to eat better, as I exagerated a bit those past two days. And relax.

 

Oh, and there is the soda thing: I have decided to go soda free for life, or try at least. One of my best gains from this first 6WC!

Why doing it (even moderately) if all it does me is harm, and if when free of it I still live happily (or happier, actually)?

 

I'm here to stay, defintely, count me in for all the further challenges. : )

Just dropping by real quick to say things are stable, not exagerating on food, keeping my room neat, being away from soda and stuff.

Day #42

 

(This is going to be gigantic, sorry bout that)

 

With watery eyes I sit here to look back at my past 6 weeks and learn yet a little bit more about myself.

And I'll say this just ahead of everything: this first challenge was all about getting to know my ups and downs, about knowing my limits, learning my vices and stuff.

But I'll get to that latter. First let's review my goals:

 

1) Drop at least 7.7 pounds (3,5 kg). Grade: A.

CON +2

STR +2

With its good and bad moments i lost a total of 8.8 (4 kg). And even though I had some lame moments regarding food or exercises, I actually managed to pick it up all the times and re-gain not a thing. This was incredible and made me feel great! I also fit on clothes I had lost a real win situation o/

In regarding what o learnd during this six weeks: I have to pick goals diet related, better eating habits is something I really have to work now.

 

2) Cut out soda completly. Grade: A.

CON +2

WIS +2

I had a crave here and there, but I managed not to give in to soda anytime. I'm soda free and one of my goals in life now is actually to remain free of it.

 

3) Attend to my stretching classes 2x every week. Grade: A.

DEX +2

CON +1

Here I had a bump and had to make up for a class I missed by going in another day in the same week. At the end and by my criteria I aced it, attending to 12 classes.

My classes are in the morning, and I learnd that stretching is an awesome way to start the day, pretty relaxating.

 

LifeLvln) Organize the GIGANTIC mess in my bedroom. Grade: A.

STR +3

CHA +2

As the photos show I managed to step up and clean it up! Trashed a ton of stuff, organized the rest.. The feeling of living in an organized room is sooo good. And it keeps pushing me to keep things organized, which I've been doing for 2 weeks already, and intend to continue. I also have been adventuring out of my room and starting to organize things in the entire house, it's such an awesome feeling to have a neat place.

 

Minichallenges accomplishd:

1) CHA  +1

3) WIS +1

4) CON +1

5) STR +1

I only missed one minichallenge, because I chose walking 15 minutes/day and it's something I already do in order to get to College or to work, so I ddndt feel like I had accomplished anything.

The minichallenges helped me a lot! Especially #4 and #5. It was due to #4 that I was done so early with cleaning my room!

Now, the really important stuff: people.

Not a day passes by without me thinking how much I owe you guys for all the support, the good advise, the cheering, encouragement and good times I had from a lot of people.

So a humongous THANK YOU to telemon, Jenni, Shanna, honeysuckle, skysthelimit, adorkable2007, aranona, Adventuress, Athena and to each of you that dropped by and just sent me good thoughts!

I wouldnt be fair if i ddnt mentioned telemon, Jenni and Shanna specially, for being with me from the beginning til the end! It really made the difference for me the support you gave me!

 

But I have to specially thank Bastet and Angelblaidd for being truely AWESOMEawesome. Thank you with all my heart! If I hadnt accomplishd squat, it would'v still worth it just for getting the chance to know you!

 

I end this first challenge feeling victorious for all of it: accomplishments, self-knowledge and friends most of all.

And I'm very certain that I'll stick around for quite a bit :D

WOW, Mury!  You've really levelled up and it's fantastic to see, for reals.  Even when you were having moments when some of your brain was saying "you can't do this" you were like "I will do this!!"

 

Again you've done well and I am super proud of you.  Congrats on the level up!

MAN, you totally ROCKED this challenge! You made an almost perfect score (to one minichallenge close!)! I don't what the others are up to, but to me you're a serious candidate to win this challenge.
