KiwiChick
How'd the run go?? Just got my second in.... not from dog munchings... did my injury to my own self... bloody footprints are never a good thing.... But it SURE did feel good to get back out there!I did a quick 5km on the treadmill (shudder - i hate those things) but felt good so now just got to find some confidence to run outside again (and convince my work mates its an good idea!) Awwww i hope your feet are healing ok that sounded so nasty. I running it is seriously one of the only things that keeps me sane. Speaking of staying sane - I am now celebrating 2 weeks of being completely anti-depressent med free! I spent the first week in a dizzy nauseous haze but feeling pretty good now It took me several attempts to taper off over the last year, this last one being a slow 6 months long so I am very very pleased - I just have to keep running and eating well and I should be ok. My new aim is to be relapse free. Massive thanks to all you lovely folks out there for the support in general since I joined NF, seriously it has made a massive difference. KiwiChick
Anyway - back to current challenge goalsHad 2 small runs this week - hips and knees a bit troublesome, but stretching every night and I have a foam roller due to arrive in the post any day now. Prob stick to smaller runs for a few weeks until I have sorted my hip tightness out as Im still in injury prevention mode.3 gym sessions (2 with abs focus) in prep for my final plank trial on sunday! Super excited.Food - logged everyday using MFP - pretty much eat between 1700-2200 cals which ok, just really focusing on what I eat rather than cals.Procrastination - getting things done but on a much slower timetable - I think by the end of the challenge I will have achieved everything I made on my list but not within the week I wanted too. This is going to score low but i learnt a lot so that is worth the journey.SOME of my bonus extras are going well too, i make my bed everyday, multivitamin etc. others not so well. KiwiChick
30 min treadmill run then attempted my prone challenge - I was not up for it today, I was feeling weak pre run, and I know Im getting a bug but it wasnt until I tried to do my challenge that I realised I prob shouldnt have done that run - but I just needed some mental time out. So also during my prone hold I was attacked by mosquitoes! Was horrible so decided to accept that 7:30 will be my best time which is a B grade. Im still happy to have added 2 mins to my best time so still a success. Traveling Scoutly inclined Druid “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.â€â€• Oscar Wilde Link to comment
MissMormie
Wow. A 7:30 prone hold is an awesome time. Especially when your inner ninja is disturbed by mosquitoes, that would definitely kill my concentration. Hopefully the other bug will not actually make you sick. Good luck!. KiwiChick
Kiwi’s 4th challenge: Kiwi hits the road. The roundup! This was one of those I learnt a lot about myself and what does and doesn't work for me challenge wise. Ok it wasnt as bad as I thought, but much room for improvement, especially in my task management and working to deadlines. Goals#1: Scout Quest STA 2 DEX 23 runs a week (total 18) on sealed roads, working on building my road running back up and not irritating old injuries. Usual kiwi grading system. Aim is to complete 3 runs (even if small) as need to build up slowly.I went on some really cool runs and I am happy with my transition into firmer surfaces and some longer runs, but I didn’t hit my run number target. I did end up battling some running leg pain demons but learnt from this so hopefully they are under control. 2+2+3+3+2+3= 15/18 which not that bad! That’s a B. +STA 1.5 DEX 1.5 #2 Abs Quest STR 4I want to be able to do an 8 min prone hold. So A=8mins+ B=7.5+ C=7+ etcManaged a 7:30 min prone which is a two min improvement and a B grade so STR 3 #3 Food Quest CON 3Track track track! Yip it’s writing down everything time. A grade here I logged everyday (except maybe 2 half days) I logged using a battle log and then moved to MFP which I found useful and will prob to continue to use this given my current housing and catered situation.+CON 3 #4 Level up: Stop procrastinating! WIS 1 CHA 3Fail. But learnt a lot. Bonus ExtrasFinally antidepressant meds free!Worked on my novel a good few hours in the first few weeks of the challenge Went to the gym on average 2 - 3 times a week before I left homeMade my bed and took a vitamin everydayMade a good start into paying off debtMoved to different country for workDid heaps of leg rolling out and sexy clams for my ITBDressed nice everyday I was in NZ and a few times since being in the outbackTook part in the scout mini challenge and did fun things like running up steep hills and burpees.Had an awesome cross country run race, and placed well given my lack of training. Cant wait for next challenge I feel like I made good personal progress here but keen to nail the next one properly.
