It's another unambitious one I'm afraid, for reasons I'll get to later. In this challenge I will be...

1 Running Along Girders

Run

1 long run and 2 short runs per week, looking again at technique and increasing speed

2 Leaping Over Barrels

jump

At least 1 heavy squat/jump session per week

3 Climbing Ladders

climb

Keep working on "plups" - one test and general bodyweight/resistance work towards the elusive goal

4. Impressing Pixelated Babes at the Top of Towers

Top

...and how else would I do that but by wowing them with my knowledge of the language of Camões, Saramago and Pessoa? So then - another two chapters of L+D then. It worked well for me last time

And I'll be doing some other stuff too, but I will just keep the goals simple with these.

Now, why have I chosen an arcade game from the golder age of Dragon 32 as my theme? Well, because you can pause a video game and I will be pausing on May 8th because I have an operation scheduled which will mean (Oh, I don;t want to think about this) that I can;t run for 6 weeks or row for 8, so I will have to pause my quest then and pick it up where I left off in the next challenge. I'll make myself a mini-challenge I can do while I'm out of action.

Good goals as per usual, planning a pause, but working until the last minute is one smart approach to it, best of luck!

OMG, I have been thinking about a Donkey Kong themed challenge a few times now.  Definitely one of the best games out there.  Running, jumping, barrel throws, and ladder climbing were some of my ideas.  Good luck with this fun challenge!

Thanks. Donkey Kong, Ring of Darkness and Pac Man were my childhood. I haven't played the new version at all!

I love your challenges threads so much. <3 I will silently follow them as usual. Keep on the good work and the puns!

I would expect nothing less than silence from an assassin such as yourself. *waves in general direction of the shadows*

Hm, I've never heard of one of those. What a mine of information & ideas you are! Thanks

Yeah, both terms are recognised but I think Osteopath is more common. My former sculling teacher has stopped teaching now to concentrate on studying to be an osteopath as it happens.

Good luck with the OP, We do love themed challenges! 8-bit wonderland! Sent from my Android mistakes in text may appear, fat rain drops on head.

Love this!  Donkey Kong rules.  Its awesome that you are planning for your "pause"!  Working hard up to it & then finding a mini-challenge during your recovery.  Very cool.  Good luck!

Thanks. I'll need it!

So it's been a quietish start. Out running in vibrams today, doing mini-dips on a horizontal bar, pullups on a lower bar, and then bw rows on an even lower one. Back at the ranch, trying not to sit in too terrible posture. Maybe I should get another job. Eating well,  and feeling OK. Ordered a slackline. It was going to be a birthday present to myself but my b'day is just before the opp so I thought I'd get it early so I can have a play before I go into the era of blah. Oddly, what has been my biggest problem so far was that the books I have been reading at the weekend and yesterday have just been too damn interesting. I have been Shortstuffin' it up, with my page-count scrolling up at a crazy rate. Has anyone read "Gone Girl"? It was big hit this past summer. Crazy book and completely absorbing so there was no way I could get anything else done till I finished it. One day I will finally perfect the face rack I've been working on so I'll be able to strap it on and read while I run. Much more civilised than audiobooks, although they have their drawbacks as the many face-shaped indentations in the trees near my house all attest.

Happy pre-birthday!

Running and reading combined in a single thread, guess I'll have to check up on you more often ;)

I've always found it quite easy to read while on a bike, or in traffic jams. My BF now forbids me from having any books in the car.. But running and reading is a new one. Wonder if you figure out how to do so.

I have a feeling what I need is an airbag mechanism for the book so if you run into something it doesn't hurt so much.
