Anyone to support you with your goals IRL?Primarily my wife, who is very supportive of all my fitness / diet goals. She's also a smoker, so it's a little harder to quit without getting her on-board, but I've decided to just forge on and try to be an example, instead of waiting. I'm hoping it'll be similar to quitting soda, although I had a good replacement in coffee. I just need to find something to replace my smokes. I'm thinking brownies. RiotInferno
Heh. Next challenge goal - lose 20 lb. by quitting brownies. Heh. I can't afford to lose 20lbs. I'm trying to bulk. I've been ~135 my entire adult life. Now that I have a handy spreadsheet tracking calories / protein, I can try to figure out what I need to adjust to try to put on some weight. I'm shooting for 2500 calories, but that just seems like so much food. RiotInferno
That's a good idea! Jerky is delicious.I tracked my calories yesterday, for what seemed to be a pretty normal day, and the grand total was 1366. WTF. So either that's a 'normal' day for me and completely explains why I never gain weight, or else I just chose a super-low calorie day to start tracking. Regardless, I'm notorious for skipping breakfast, so today I'm starting with a bottle of OJ (220 calories right there) and am being very thoughtful of what's going into my body today. I used to make breakfast at work, so I should start up that again.I forgot that I was doing GTG and only did 1 5-sec hold yesterday. I started off right, with 1 pull-up and a 5-sec hold this morning though. At 6'1", I look rather sad.At this point, I'm not too worried about my body fat % before I start bulking, as I just want to bulk up. I can always do 8 on the first set. I always tell myself "don't go to failure on the 2nd set", and today I got to 7 comfortably, and said "we can do 8", and as a result, was only able to hit 5 ( I really had to work for the 5th one ) on the last set. I like the GTG setup I have. It literally takes less than 30 seconds to do a pull-up then drop down and do a hollow-body hold. Time to go make dinner. My tracker said I'm only at 800 calories for the day so far, so I'll see what I can brew up. I wonder if I can put Peanut Butter in my pasta. RiotInferno
Today was pretty successful on the food front.I had ~1700 calories, which is closer to my 2000+ target, and a whole lot better than the 1300 on Monday.I normally don't have breakfast, but yesterday it was a bottle of OJ, and today it is OJ + Banana. (they sell them at work for 25 cents)According to MFP that's 320 calories. That feels like cheating. I remembered to GTG before work today, so maybe I'm getting into the 4x a day habit. I always wore baggy clothes, etc to try to ignore it. Now that I'm more comfortable with it I actually wear clothes that fit, and it's awesome.Tracking my input has really helped me realize how much I had to focus on my calories in order to (hopefully) bulk. RiotInferno
How was everyone's weekend?Mine was pretty good, with bits of 'meh'. Started out sat morning with my first http://recordstoreday.com/Home'>Record Store Day. It's also probably my last RSD.I spent the better part of month getting really excited for this, only to find out that it's actually impossible to get any the LPs that you actually want. I'm a listener, not a collector, dammit! We had one of our 2 goldfish die on sunday. That was a little sad. We've had them for about a year and a half, so no clue what actually happened. I didn't work out yesterday. I just wasn't feeling it. The weather's been fluctuation between 50F+ and snowing, so that tends to keep me down a little bit. On the plus side, after 1 week of tracking my intake, I found the major hole in my diet: I don't pay any attention to what I eat on the weekends. But I did get a closed beta key for Marvel Heroes, and played that a bit yesterday. It's Diablo 2 with Marvel Characters. Do you like both of those? Then this game is for you!
