ARock10's Still Fighting It Battle Log

Recommended Posts

Hello, this is my first battle log although I've been a part of NF since 3/2012.  I like exercising but know that not everyone feels that way.

Age: 32

Weight: 131

What am I still fighting?

1. A lack of confidence - had an interview yesterday with 5 people and got nervous.  Couldn't regain extremely firm footing during the interview although I knew I had the experience they wanted to hear about.

2. Not pushing my body to get greater results - have been doing mostly body weight exercises since 11/2011 and am now wanting to workout with weights more.  Also, visited my 94 year old grandmother last week and saw firsthand what can happen if you do not use what you have.  The muscles and the movement go away.  She is practically bedridden and can't even turn over in her bed by herself.

It seems like exercise and diet are the key to making me more confident.

Today's workout 9:30 pm

Deadlift with 12 lb dumbbells - 5 reps for 5 sets

Lunges with 12 lb dumbbells - 8 reps per leg for 3 sets

Planks - 1 minute for 3 sets

Steps for the day +9,200 (goal is 10,000)

Sunday, 5/19/13

great progress today! I brought my road bike to the bike clinic at a farmer's market near my apartment.  I haven't used my bike in almost 3 years and wanted to get some help before using it again.

The bike clinic guys accept donations.  They instructed me on how to change my pedals from clip ins to regular pedals, cleaned my chain, put air in my tires and did a through check of the bike.  I gave them a very nice donation for all of their work.  We got everything checked and ready except the front tire.  I needed a new tube.  Had one at my apt so brought my bike home and changed the tube (yeah!).

**After lunch, I went out for a 30 minute bike ride and then ran a mile at the track.

**My next race is a 4 mile run around Father's Day.  Very pumped about my bike!

9,500 steps already.
