ARock10's Still Fighting It Battle Log

Hiking with a friend sounds lovely...I'll be doing loads more of that when I move to Wales in July. Currently, I live in a desert and none of my friends are active enough to willingly join me on a walk or hike anywhere.

I know I'm a little late on the draw here, but it's awesome looking at your progress. Keep it up! :D

Thanks for dropping me a line.  This is definitely a long term battle for healthy living.

Having active friends is awesome.  My friend Elizabeth is about 20 years older than me and introduced me to rock climbing and road biking.  She's all around awesome.  We met at a meetup event 5 years ago.  Maybe you could meet someone active in your area through a group like that.

Hey, you're doing really well! And you're a fellow assassin!

I hear you about liking exercise. It's really a matter of finding what you like. You jog a lot. Did you ever run a marathon? Is that one of your goals?

I appreciate the encouragement, SilverRapier.  My abundance of jogging and walking came from living in Washington, DC and feeling far away from hiking/biking trails which I enjoy.  I would like to do a 10k but not a marathon.  I recently moved and will start tennis lessons next month so there should be more diversity in my activity now.

SilverRapier: Hey! I am in Georgia and the high is 24 degrees F today.  Last night I started a new challenge - http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/42573-arock10-mind-the-quicksand/ and did the first workout from the NF Rebel Strength Guide Barbell Battalion.  My workouts take place at home so the dining room became the exercise room.  Am considering doing the 4 time a week plan for the challenge instead of the 3 time a week plan.

tennis lesson #1 7 pm - 8:30 pm

It was myself and 2 other women (plus Coach Rick).  Worked on forehands and backhands for 40 min and then played doubles after.  That showed me just how much I have to learn.  Next lesson is on Tues.
