Recently switched jobs from standing and moving all day everyday to sitting at a desk, realize now (2 months later) that being immobile is 1) leading to additional weight and 2) leading to me not having a vent for frustrations (traffic, mainly).  In an effort to curb that, I'm getting back on the marathon horse I never fully got on and get in shape enough to be able to play with 2 kids and not get winded easily.

 

1) Cut out Soda, Ween off coffee completely.  (3 Con)

 

2) Run half a mile without having to stop because I'm winded. (3 Sta, 2 Dex)

 

3) Do Angry Birds workout every other day, add 10, 20, 35, 50 (L1, L2, L3, L4) reverse crunches on the end. Shoot for 3 starring level 3 of all by the end. (3 Str, 1 Dex)

 

4) Read an entire Adult book comprising of at least 160 pages on either an interesting topic or an intriguing story. (3 Wis)

First week accountability (for me, this is actually week 4 right?):

 

1) I've had coffee 3 days this week (Didn't finish it on Tuesday or Today). Otherwise its been Water or Coconut Milk.

 

2) Due to work schedules I have not run this week: FAIL.

 

3) Did workouts MTW, really sore Wednesday after warmup resulted in me taking caution and doing a light workout and taking Thursday and Friday off. Getting back on the horse today for sure!

 

4) 30pgs in on 'Control'; 130pgs to go. -- Plan on doing more reading this weekend, should put me in a good place to hit the goal.

 

Feeling good so far except for the running, but thats also the weakest part of my routine and healthiness.

Week 5 (2) update:

 

Down 10lbs in 2 weeks; 3 weeks on new diet (with minimal cheats). 

 

1) Had coffee 3 days this week as well, though more spread out and mainly to combat caffeine headaches.

 

2) Ran 3 times this week; up to .2mi without stopping.

 

3) Did workouts Sun,MWSa (had plans Thursday night with my wife for our 5 year anniversary, Concert Friday night that kept me out late)

 

4) Now 50 pages in, 110 to go with a week left; Doable, but I consider that a failure on the week.

 

Feeling Awesome! Have a co-worker I will be running with after work Tu,W,Th as we're gearing up for a 5k in July!

I'm gonna call this a mid-week check.

 

You know what feels awesome? Hitting one of these goals, especially when it comes to running (for me, cause my cardio sucks). Today I ran .52 mi without stopping at the beginning of a 1.37mi run/walk session. It was rough, but I did it and its the greatest feeling.

 

Sidenote: No coffee thus far this week, and no headaches!

Final check in:

 

1) Have cut out soda and coffee completely. Win! A (3 Con)

 

2) Ran .52 miles without stopping because of being winded. Win! A (3 Sta, 2 Dex)

 

3) Didn't hold to any sort of Schedule, only did body weight workouts 2 times last week. Giving myself a C here; The workouts were mostly there, sticking to a schedule was the problem. (1.5 Str, .5 Dex)

 

4) Made it to 105pgs in my book. C, also consider this a fail as I thought this would be a fairly easy goal for 3 weeks. (1.5 Wis).

 

Now I have a question -- Since I only participated in half the 6 week challenge do I stay level 1 and wait til after a full 6 week challenge to level up, or do I go ahead and level up?  Do I do half a level and half those stats?  Curious as to how this fully works, thanks for any help.
