raggedsweater
Today, I had to get up at 4:30 in order to fit in a workout today. This is really NOT the norm. I usually wake up at 5:45 and get out the door by 6:15 if I want to make it to the gym by 7. It's a corporate gym located on the 2nd floor of the building where I work. The gym opened at the beginning of the year, but I've only kept the wake-at-5:45 schedule for the past month. Before that, it took a lot of effort to take up two hours before I used to wake up just go to work. Plus, the winters in Boston do not make a walk to the train station very pleasant. So yeah... the EARLIEST I wake up is 4:30, which I will do occasionally because I have a meeting at 8AM. This means I'm out the door by 5, catch the non-rush hour trolley and subway trains, get in by 6:00 and I have a good 90 minutes to work out, shower, and throw the suit on. Days like this, I have to plan ahead. I went to bed last night at 9pm. pantinaprovina
I usually get up at 6:30, but I'm not a morning person so I waste my extra time on the internet. BigCurly
I get up at 4 am every weekday morning. I used to get up at 5:30 (I have to leave at 6 to get to work), but I found I was always scrambling in the mornings to get ready, so I set my alarm 10 minutes earlier and had a bit more time. I found I was in a better mood when I didn't have to rush around in the morning. Then I set my alarm 10 minutes earlier again so I would have time to read the paper (online) in the morning. Then I found myself getting sucked into the internet and great websites like Nerdfitness, so I set my alarm 10 minutes earlier. After a while I realized 10 minutes wasn't making a difference, so every week I sent my alarm 10 minutes earlier. I got to 3:40, but my wife got mad because I was going to bed at like 9pm and waking her up as I was rustling around the kitchen at such an early hour. Anyway, since I've embarked on a new healthy lifestyle I get up at 4am and go to the gym. I know this sounds hardcore, but I'm really not hardcore at all, I just like the mornings. I find I'm exhausted after work and I would skip way too many workouts if I went in the evenings. This way I get my workout done first thing, it takes me less time because the gym is way less busy (there are a couple of other regulars at 4am) and I feel great all day! Try setting your alarm 10 minutes early every week. It works wonders! 1 Quote Level 1 - Human Adventurer STR: 2 | DEX: 1 | CON: 4 | STA: 2 | WIS: 3 | CHA: 3. Link to comment

isis
Now, I get up at 4:30, get ready for work, take care of my kitties, pack my lunch and head to work (I start at 6am). I used to get up between 3:30 and 4am when I would go in at 5am. On the weekends, I sleep in. I am more a night owl and actually dislike mornings, but I like being out of work early, so I go in early. cracked_belle
I have a quick survey for the rebellion, mostly since I'm trying to help motivate some friends: What is the earliest you get up in the morning? And, what would you do with the time if you were to get up earlier? For those of you who already do get up early, what motivates you? Thanks!!for a while, I was getting up at 5am to run for an hour. with the next Six Weeks Challenge, I will get up at 5am to go biking. other things that I would like to do if I could would be read, journal, or write. just something to kinda welcome the day in. Erick the Red
I used to wake at 04:30 (4:30am) to run before I had to get ready for work. I was not getting enough sleep most nights because getting to bed by 20:30 (8:30pm) was nearly impossible with kids sports and other evening commitments. Now I wake at 5:30am, and get to bed around 9:30pm most nights, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. crosenblum
I try to get up early around 6:30 - 7am, but then It depends if i went to sleep on time, which is hard because I am slightly insomniac, always doing things, projects, working in the garage, at night. For some reason I feel more energized late at night, then I do during the daytime. I read that some businessmen make a habit of getting up early, to help them prepare more for their day. If you want to have more organized, better time managed days, it starts with taking the time each day, to plan it. Quote Link to comment
srkelly
I wake up at 0445 daily, and while it was hard at first, it's been awesome! Tazo
Sometime between 6:30 and 7 on weekdays. Saturday depends on if I've been doing anything the night before (say, a midnight movie), but very rarely later than 8 or 8:30. Getting up later than that usually means I've done something like an all-night Halloween movie marathon, so something I do like... twice a year. I have my alarm SET for 7, but sometimes I'll get up earlier should I wake, or should my roommate (who's a Naval reservist and thus just up naturally early) wake me up. One time recently he woke me up around 6:15. I didn't realize how early it was, so when I heard movement and voices (he turned on the morning news), my first thought was that someone had broken into the apartment and I needed to call the police.Fortunately my brain caught up with me and I saw the time before I had to have an awkward conversation with the nice police officers.
