Plex's Pre-Summer Zombie Fit Challenge

GOALS:

1) To do the RSG workouts as mentioned and compete in Steve Kamb's ultra-fun challenge for 6 weeks (book still hasn't arrived yet)

Why? I like challenges and contests. It makes me ang...er, motivated to see people doing better then me. It's no fun to compete on an even playing field. Much better when everyone else is better then you.

2)To hit the gym 4+ times a week (hopefully more)

Why? Honestly, I have been slacking, the move crushed a lot and the week after made it super hard at 3 times a week. I need to make use of this damn membership or it becomes a waste of money.

3) To attempt to do landscaping twice a week (hopefully more)

Why? To get out into the sun and its a great fat burn.

4) To do one zombie apocalypse related goal each day

Why? Because I hate zombies and have no desire to become one.

5) To do my paperwork!

Why? I am notoriously bad at paperwork at my job (expenses) and at life (taxes). Both of these need to get done pronto.

6) Set up a savings account and put money in, every paycheck.

Why? Because theoretically I am an adult, and this is what adults do.

First day

1) No book yet, hadn't arrived.

2) Hit the gym after work.

3) Did landscaping with my buddies today for 5 hours.

4) Did the gym work out with 5 pound ankle weights. (Figure I will be carrying around 10 pounds of guns and ammo so better get used to the weight)

5) I.... failed here. Mostly this goal is here to see that it gets done this month.

6) Going to see if I can do this online.

1)Obviously, if its online content only, I am not the smartest boy.

2)Nope, off gym day

3)Rain meant no landscaping

4)Wore ankle weights all day. Make stairs hard. Backs of legs are feeling funny

5)Uhm no paperwork today

6) No paycheck today...

So, I kind of took a day off from goals because of rain, catching up on sleep, and then took a personal night to do life? related goals. That have nothing to do with me being a better person, but have to do with me being a happier, infinitely more smug person this (Weds) morning.

Whaddup forgy!

1) Spent time setting up computer today to GET online content. Have own computer now instead of borrowing roomies. Move in right direction.

2)was going to gym, but then got call that Goal #3 required me to get up at 5 am tomorrow. Getting done with work at 930 meant no gym.

3)None today as other work came first

4)MOAR ANKLE WEIGHTS! these are fast becoming normal, and normal is becoming lighter...

5)Did all my tutoring scheduling for now and the next month with 80% of my tutoring students. Load off my back.

6)No paycheck today (lol)

Woke up, and went to work. In between work, I did paperwork. Then I went to more work and chained work back to back. Then I came home and set up my computer so I can do paperwork when I have a free moment at home.

So progress being made, progress being made...

1) Downloaded book, took a look at it today. If time after run tomorrow before work (because boss called me in early, of course) then I will try the warm up routine to see what it is all about. But its on my desktop! Progress!

2) Went to gym for about hour or so. Got interrupted by a friend who was having a small crisis so left gym and went see her. Determined that RL is more important than my body. BUT I did manage grab my work gloves and pump out some extra reps of stuff in her basement AND I wore the ankle weights the entire time. (Grabbed the I-Beam crossing her basement and did pull ups shoulder width and neutral grip with my head switching sides till my shoulders touched the ibeam. Then I did about 30 push ups with my feet on her couch.)

3) Got up at the ASSCRACK OF DAWN (5:15 am) to get ready to landscape. Did a total of about 3 hours actual landscaping (actually, making a paved driveway) and 2 hours of napping in a car which I got paid for.

4) Got COMFY ankle weights which means early morning 'flee from zombie runs'. Did a mapmyrun.com around the neighborhood, just a shade over 2.25 miles. So plan is to run the opposite way from the grocery store and hit the grocery store for a key item or two and then walk back as a CD. Also, wore ankle weights all day again.

5) Submitted time sheet on time for the first time in 3 weeks. Go me. and gooooo overtime.

6) No paycheck today.... but I have to set up separate savings account with bank that can be accessed online. Doing soonest.

On the whole, good day for progress.

In other news, apparently I have gained roughly 7 pounds in 3 weeks. This worries me but I need to weigh myself a couple of more times before I confirm this. May have been food/water bloated.

keep up the good work

also quick question i have ankle weights as well, how do you keep them from scratching and irritating the skin around the ankles, whenever i wear them for more than an hour the skin around the weights gets all red and hurt

maybe i just need to get more comfy ones

as for gaining 7 lbs in 3 weeks, i wouldn't worry too much about it if you are eating well and exercising, especially all that landscaping

Weekend 4/15 -4/17

1) Have taken a look at workout, should be doing workout 'A' tomorrow

2) No gym time. All work time.

3) No landscaping as it was either lolrain or lolotherjob

4) Comfy ankle weights are comfy and were worn all day friday, all day saturday (except in the evenings from 10pm to about 2am both fri/sat) and all day sunday. (including sunday evening). Ankle weights are now viewed as normal by my body. Hunted for increased ankle weights (for walking/running) and weighted vest (figure if I can haul around an extra 40 or 50 pounds like it was nothing, I can probably haul any zombie killing kit i need)

5) Taxes ARE DONE as of sunday evening. Federal AND state. Paperwork WIN.

6) Talked to bank on Saturday. They recommended coming in during the week in person as its a heck of a lot faster then online. Doing that this week.

also quick question i have ankle weights as well, how do you keep them from scratching and irritating the skin around the ankles, whenever i wear them for more than an hour the skin around the weights gets all red and hurt

I have the gold's gym ones? They are super comfy and soft. Also, grab long socks, bunch them around your ankles maybe? create a cushion? I want to weigh myself tomorrow to see whats up. Plan was originally to get zombie lean, but may not happen. Inadvertent bulk phase I guess.

1) Did Bodyweight Brigade Rank 2 'A' Workout.... with 5pd weights around each ankle.

2) Then after did some extra stuff at the gym.

3) Landscaping happens weds morning as tuesday is rain and work-y.

4) Ankle weights still being worn. Almost completely used to them now. Looking at getting a 12 pound harness to continue working on building up carry ing stuff abilities.

5) No paperwork monday

6) No bank visit today. Work work work.

May get updated later tonight, but so far.

1) off day for RSG

2) Going to gym momentairly

3) Landscaping Weds morning.

4) Looked at using banks thank you points to purchase either (light chest weight) or (bigger leg weights) or (weighted wrist weights)

5) DID SO MUCH PAPERWORK. Did 6 weeks worth of expenses and I am all caught up as of this moment. And going to be much richer in like 2 paychecks. Took 4 bloody hours.

6) Maybe bank visit today if things go quickly at the gym. Considering trying ab ripper x at gym with ankle weights.

4/20

1) Did RSG workout today with a buddy. Who inspires me to do better. Through Spite.

2) Didn't go to gym, but made it through RSG workout. Long day and RSG counts for something right?

3) No landscaping today or thursday and possibly not friday. My other job is picking up considerably and I have first priority to that.

4) Ran 2 miles in 19:20 today with 5 pd ankle weights. Come get some, zombies, that's a five pound gun and 5 pounds of ammo. Shotgun to the face!

5) Submitted expense report today. It got approved. Hellooooooooooo money. Timesheet is tomorrow though.

6) Did not end up hitting bank as between sleep, work and workout, there was no time.

Seriously considering redacting goal 2 and replacing it with "Alternate exercise other then RSG" to include outdoor runs which are better then gym. I just want more.

1) No RSG, off day.

2) No gym either. So far, 2 out of 4 days. I guess I have to go suck it up tomorrow and Saturday. I kind of like this.

3) No landscaping either of these days. Landscaping this week has been fail due to work in the early morning and such.

4) More ankle weighting.

5) Submitted timesheet on time again! hah! more overtime. *gets ready to hear another lecture* Gotta bust my hump next week. Gotta get ready to do it to it.

6) No bank between work work work! Out the door at nine back at like eleven...

I have to do better with planning my time. So, hopefully TOMORROW will get up early and go running with my roommate. Debating hitting gym now though for a bit. Means I would get back at like 1 bed by 2 for 5 hours of sleep probably not worth it. Besides, I am going to WRECK myself tomorrow. 100 burpee challenge! and another 2 mile attempt tomorrow.

1) RSG BW WO R2 'A'

2) Went to gym to do more things after this. Was very tired at end.

3) No landscaping. This is more due to work being nuts and every kid being on spring break and wanting day time tutoring. So over all I feel this is good, as this job pays better then landscaping.

4) Printed out crop rotation list so when the fall of human society happens, I know to how to rotate crops to not wear out the soil.

5) Talked with boss. Got huge list of classes to look at for scheduling ahead of time.

1) no RSG off day

2) which means I did gym today! hah! AND I ran in the morning with gym in afternoon. Go me!

3) No landscaping on weekends

4) More ankle weights

5) Nothing work related

6) Deposited about 3 checks for various things that had been sitting in my wallet. Felt good.

Easter day. Nothing happening.

1) RSG tonight! at the gym! its the best!

2) Gym tonight!

3) No landscaping today, but tomorrow hopefully!

4) Ran today for 2miles, with ankle weights. 19:00 or a little under. This is called zombie escaping ability.

5) Emailed boss about courses to teach. Going to work at tutoring.

6) Nothing for bank today... sad.

1) No RSG. Off day

2) Went to gym. Worked out cardio and core

3) Landscaped today. Was awesome. Think I burnt my shoulders

4) Learned how to mulch things. Useful for plant growing when society breaks down in the zombie apocolypse

5) Solidified teaching courses

6) Busy all day and night. Too busy to bank.

1) Did RSG again.

2) Did more gym after RSG. Lots of cardio and more focus on upper body.

3) No landscaping as early work happened.

4) Ankle weights: after 18 straight hours of wearing them, you get tired and muscles start to feel funny.

5) and 6) nothing here because my phone took a giant poop and died. So I had to get a new one.
