So this time more specific goals:

Goals:

1) Handstand Push-up Progression

Progression work towards doing this here, also frog stand work.  Goal after 6 weeks is to be able to balance for 5 seconds in the head stand position, and push off and fall towards a wall.

+2 Dex, +2 Str

2) L-Sit/L Seat Progression

Progression into a full ring L Sit, right now I can get my knees up and my lower leg at a bout a 45 degree angle.  Work on this, goal is to get to a full L Sit for at least 2 seconds(steady).

+2 Con, +2 Str

3) 50 Rep Sets of Push-ups

Work toward doing 50 push-ups in a row, and hopefully at least 2 sets of them.  Right now I can do 3 sets of 20 but it's pushing it.

+4 Sta

4)Finances

Save at least 25$ per week, that would have normally been spent.

+3 WIs

Good luck on your challenge. I've pushed myself pretty hard to be able to do 10 good reps of handstand push-ups but it wasn't easy. But I am so glad that I started practicing them, they are one of my favorite exercises.

Thanks.  I'm getting much better at balancing on my hands.  Next of course is building the extra working overhead strength.

The strength do start doing the push-up once I got into a handstand came pretty quickly for me. I just kept lowering myself a little bit each time till I was able to do one full rep.

I helped a friend move yesterday so I didn't have much in the tank for a workout this morning. So I decided it would be cool to try out doing myo-reps(was mentioned in general chat thread. link) anyway, as one of my goals is moar push-ups I tried a couple sets of myo-reps on push-ups and rows.

Pushups 15,4,4,4,2

Rows 5,3,3,2

Crow Pose - 10 sec

Ring Dips 5, 5, 5

After this I didn't really have anything left in the tank for much else so I stopped there.

I'll try to get more of this done on wednesday. For sure my triceps and pecs are feeling more now than they usually do with 3-4 sets of 20, and I've only done 29.

I've been trying to increase the push-up reps by doing loads of them :)  I've done a few wall handstands and I'm getting better at them, same with frogs, I will hopefully devote more time to them next week.

Pullups 9 Sets, 60 sec between

2,2,2.2,2,2,2,2,2

Supposed to fail on the last rep of the last set which pretty much happened but I managed to get it over the bar !

I'm not sure the every day schedule is working for me. I've been more tired, grumpy and hungry than usual.

I'm going to take 3 days off instead of 2 and see how I feel on Monday.  At that point I may do 4 on 3 off again, or I may do 1 on 1 off like I had been doing before.  If I'm feeling great next week I may get the 5 on 2 off action off the ground for sure!

I'll probably just do some light yoga and maybe a bit of frog stand stuff tomorrow but no strength stuff.

You doing the Armstrong Pull-up program?

Training every day can be rough, especially if you're not used to it.  I would focus on only doing one exercise every day (the pull-ups, in this case, and dropping the push-ups).  I know the program calls for both, but that's to prevent muscle imbalance.  This is obviously important to prevent but... 1. if you're like 90% of the population, you probably have much stronger pushing proficiency right now and you're not going to correct that imbalance and then overtake it with this pull-up program in the next six weeks, and 2. you have a training program in addition to the pull-ups program and you're getting plenty of push work there.  No need to double it up.

Yup.  Thanks Wolverine, so you think I should do my normal 3 times per week workout, then add on just the pull-up sets in the evening(a different time than my normal workouts)?
