AgentsSka
The first 10 days of this challenge I'll be back in the States visiting, so working out and eating right will require the kind of dedication that I've been lacking the last couple of weeks. From Croman's first post. Not that he specified where in the State's he would be. ;-) Current Challenge || Previous:: 2020 Reset There are a ton of previous challenges that I'm not linking "Freaking pansies. Croman Red
8 June 2013Just finished the Sound and Narrows a couple of hours ago. Had a great run with Mrs. Red. It was the first time she had run further than 2.5 miles, so this was a huge PR for her (7.5 miles). It was awesome; beforehand she was ready to bury me deeply (for getting her into this), and 100 feet after the finish line she was talking big smack! ("Let's stick around and cheer on the slow people!") She's already talking about next year's race... The madness is infectious. No one is immune. Kinda like the Zombie Apocalypse, only different. Croman Red
Wait, what? I missed this. But there is a Sound to Narrows run tomorrow. I thought you lived in Germany or something far away. I'd go and run with you to support you if I didn't hate running and was too lazy to get out of bed early on a Saturday I was in town for my Daughter's graduation and a quick visit. It was down to the wire getting Mrs. Red to commit to the S2N. Not really the right conditions to coordinate a link up. Cro Magnon Assassin "Hold my beer and watch this..." Link to comment

Croman Red
9 June 2013Week one review:Did some running.Ate a lot of tasty crap, mostly at social events.Pretty moderate drinking. A challenge since I'm in the land of awesome brew.Overachieved the family and friends time.Overachieved the chores accomplished.Had fun with the Chaossins and the Tabulator:) Summary: Lots of good things happened, but the fitness goals took a back seat. Next week: Get back to a balanced diet. Work in some mobility and stretching. Final prep for the Zugspitze. I'm ready to get this done with and move on. The ultra stuff is all well and good, but I don't have an enduring interest in high mileage. A lot of punishment and some mind-altering achievement, but one dimensional. Zug zug zug!Enjoy your time stateside! Looking forewrd to the destruction."We share the same enemies & our means of triumphant escape are also the same: a delirious & obsessive play, powered by the spectral brilliance of the wolves & their children." Hakim Bey Vector, about Hakim Bey, interesting artistic/social agenda. Nice to know the counter culture hasn't totally devolved into excessive drug use and politically correct posturing. I'll have to do some more reading about it. Funny how you lose track of that kind of stuff when you're raising kids and paying mortgages. Cro Magnon Assassin "Hold my beer and watch this..." Croman Red
What's the next insane goal after the enduro focus is done? Sustainable, well rounded fitness. Lose the flab; which means a reasonable diet, less alcohol, and probably lifting. Over time developing movement skills. This last is more of a sideline than I originally figured it would be, there just isn't a regular use for ninja flips in my daily life so those kind of skills are mostly about bragging rights. So are the enduro feats, but they involve less skill development for me. More about determination and conditioning, but ultimately limited in my world because I'm not too interested in the lifestyle. I don't see it as the be all, end all. The next goal then, would be finding my sustainable "thing". Not thinking I'll jump right into another bout of insanity for the remainder of this year, but really? Figure the odds... Cro Magnon Assassin "Hold my beer and watch this..." Link to comment
