CB3
Ok, so I am back, yet again to see if I can get through an entire 6 week challenge. <hangs head in shame> This will be the fourth time I've tried and only finished the first challenge I did. So I am not feeling so victorious. With all the stress and strain of the last 2 months I think that actually accomplishing my goals would have helped considerably. Instead I gave up and let all the crud demolish my ambitions. So sad. So, all failure and most of the stress aside; I'm up for another challenge. Working on my self discipline and strengthening my armor against the world. I am going to make my goals very easy this time around. Goal 1: Post to Nerd Fitness 3x a week, even if there is nothing to report. I have to accept my failures as well as my successes. (CHA 3) 3x + per week: A 3x: B 2x: C 1x: D None: Failure Goal 2: Go back to getting up early. Early mornings are a great way for me to get things done. When I get up earlier in the morning I feel better about the world and have a better ability to go into the battle of the day. Recently, I have been kind of depressed and have started to sleep in and press the snooze til the last minute so I haven't been doing any morning workouts and am always running out the door. (more stress) So it's time I get back to 6 am, which is still sleeping-in in comparison to what time I used to get up. Hopefully this will get me back into the morning workout routine. (WIS 3, DEX 2) 5 days + per week at 6 am: A 5 days: B 4 days: C 3 days: D Anything less is failure Goal 3: Back to the gym! Ok, so the goal is a little smaller this time. Gym time 40 minutes, 2 x per week. Light weights to start and then I'll see how much them heavy gremlins beat me up. With all this other crapolla in my life I quite going to the gym as well and I think it made things worse. Time to get back into the habit. (STR 3, STA 2) 2x + per week: A 2x: B 1 x:C None is Epic failure as it should be Goal 4: Waterfalls. I need to be drinking more water, makes me thirsty just thinking about it. So the gaol is 2 water bottles of water per day, about 16 ounces per bottle. (I think)(CON 2) 2+ per day: A 2 per day: B 1 per day: C None is Epic failure as it should be CB3 Warrior Status Battle Log "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. CB3
Thanks, Angel! I will definitely make it a goal! So update so far Goal1: I'm posting right now. Yay, me! Goal 2: Getting up by 6 am hasn't been great. But I was up at 330 Monday morning and I was up at 430 am this morning though trying to figure out what my cat had knocked over! It literally scared me out of bed. So 6 am came and went but 645 was a bit more feasible not that I didn't want to sleep longer....it was ssooooo hard to keep my eyes open. But I managed admirably! Goal 3: Workout time on Sunday, hooray! I kicked them lazy gremlins butt! (and my own!) Another lifting session scheduled for today about 11. I'm excited, really I am! Goal 4: This one is kind of a gimmie goal. Picking an easy goal was for my motivation because I had to get something accomplished. I had three water bottles of water Sunday and yesterday AND I am halfway through one already this morning! CB3
Update, update, update Ok, quick update, since its one of my goals Goal 1: this is # 2 out of three this week, or three out of three if the initial goal declaration is considered a post. I'll have to look into that. Goal 2: I have been up early 2x this week. Which is better but i need to work on this one more. I just have no motivation to get out of bed. I do wake early but then I lie there and read a bit and eventually doze back off and wake up late so...yeah. Gotta find the motivation to actually get out of bed. Goal 3: I hit this one on the head. I worked out Sunday(bodyweight, light weights), Tuesday (light weights), hopefully I wil get one in this evening. Woo hoo! look at me go! Goal 4: Rolling like a river on this one! Only yesterday, when I forgot my water bottle, did I not drink a ton of water. I am averaging 3 bottles a day!and running to the bathroom a lot. ok, so there is my quick up date! Real exciting I know! CB3 Warrior Status Battle Log "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." CakeBanisher
Good for you, making updating a priority! Somehow knowing you've comitted to posting seems like it would make me more likely to do something to post about. Built in motivation = win! I almost made getting up earlier a goal, although my definition of early is before to 8:00...Nice work, hitting your workout and water goals, too! CB3
Hey Cakebanisher, (I love cake by the way!) it is going well. So far so good. Thanks for the encouragement! And no my cat didn't break anything but my sleep cycle. So Goal #1 I think I'll give myself credit for the initial goal posting. So that is Goal reached for last week. Yay! ( This is my first post for this week. Cakebanisher, It does help to have something to post about, makes me want to share it that much more! Goal#2 Last week was a not so good for the early bird that is trying to awake in me! I did get up early on Saturday (why I will never know) so there is 3 mornings. A lowly (D). Monday morning, I was up just after after 6 which is the goal. This morning, not so much. But I was up late and sporadically throughout the night. again, my cat thinks that 330 is the time to nibble on my arm for attention, <evil glaring eye face> So that was no bueno and I got up at 650, almost an hour late. Goal #3: I hit my goal last week ( I only got 2 workouts in.So far this week I have one weight workout in, so I am half way there! I am back to lifting which seems to be my thang and yesterday I got chest and triceps done. For going with light weights, I am decently sore. I plan on going again this afternoon. This time it will be gluteus and quads. I'll post again when I do, then I kill two goal gremlins with one shot! And lastly Goal #4: This one is my ace int the hole! I have no problems drinking water, I am more thirsty now anyway with working out. So 3 out of 4 is not bad. I'll just have to work more on #2. CakeBanisher
Good work thus far! I'm trying to become an early bird...it isn't working...I may need to steal that goal from you for my next challenge I think it's great that you like lifting! Find what you like, and go with it! andithegirl
I think you're doing great on your goals! Just think -- without goals, you might not be doing ANY of this! I totally relate to your water goal; I thought about making drinking enough water one of my goals... but the truth of the matter is that I have never successfully drank as much water as I should for more than a few days at a time... If I do well on this challenge, maybe I'll consider making it one of my goals for the next challenge. The Borg Queen
Just stopping in to say hey! I love that one of your goals is to wake up early. This is something that I have to work on too, because I generally work nights and it's easy to let myself wake up later and later, which sucks because then I have less daylight in my life. Great work on your goals! Whenever I get sick of water (which is a lot), I switch to herbal tea. I make jars and jars of it, all the time. Actually, that reminds me... I'm about due for one now! Goal #2 I am having the hardest time with this one, though part of my problem may be the fact that I haven't slept through the night in weeks. I thought working out would help but the muscle soreness seems to have kept me up a night or two, Huh. and I thought this would be an easy goal. So, week one was a D and week 2 was an F (total failure) <lonely tear falls from the eye> I think I only got up once early last week. This week is not looking any better so far! starbon
oh !...ah...uhm.. i guess I've been doing them wrong then ...sortof actually this whole thing with rows started when I told the trainer at the gym I want stronger shoulders and back so that I could do a pullup - and he told me to do these rows and pull the bar towards my chest as much as possible keeping an absolutely straight back ...hence the increased focus on rows That being said, I am now eager to try out the rows with pulling the bar / cable towards my belly button Good job on keeping up with your goals ! and don't worry about the minor shortfalls along the way - stuff's just going to keep on happening, and we have to do the best we can to tide over it (gosh that sounded a bit too gloomy lol) For the waking up early goal - might I suggest sleeping in a room where the sunlight comes in early ? CB3
Starbon, you are very right. Life happens, no matter if its gloomy or not, that just seems to be the case. That is a really good idea, I should just open my curtains. Though some nights my neighbor likes to leave their outside lights on that shine directly into my room. That is no bueno! I am talking about getting up by 6 on a regular basis, my mornings go so much smoother that way but lately here I tend to get up about 630, then lie in bed a read till 7. This morning I woke up at 7 and got out of bed at 715, I am just being a slacker! I could open the curtains most nights so I will have to try that! starbon
Good job on keeping up with all your goals ! awesome work ! as for the beer part - here's something to make you feel a tiny bit better - some studies have shown drinking beer (in moderation of course) helps strengthen the your bones, and some more have said that the whole process by which your body gets rid of the beer from your system is a mild detox routine for your body. I am planning on sleeping in tomorrow for sure... sounds so good. I wonder if part of my issue is all the smoke in the air the last few weeks?!?! maybe its an excuse? Goal 3: B/A/?
