So this is my first challenge (officially), I came across Nerd Fit about 3/4 of the way through the last one and just decided to write my goals down in my workout notebook since I was a little nervous about posting on the forum. But I am about to be traveling to a summer camp in Maine to teach and I am not sure if they have a weight room so I have kept all of my goals for this 6 week challenge related to calisthenics and things that I think I will be able to achieve there. Anyway here are my goals:

1. 10 Handstand Push ups in one set (against a wall)

2. 15 Pull ups in one set

3. Consistently workout 4 times a week

4. Read for at least 30 min per day, increasing by 15min per week (30 w1, 45 w2, 60 w3 ex...)

Where in maine is this summer camp? I live in the midcoast region. Also we are planning a Maine NF meetup on June23rd. Love to have you there if you could make it.

The goals are lookin aweesome man. Are you going to assign the points to them? When you rock out those 10 Handstand pushups you will be my hero. I want to do those soooo bad.

Oh yeah I forgot to assign points:

1. Handstand Pushups (3 Str 1 Stam)

2. Pull Ups (2 Str 2 Stam)

3. Workout 3-4 times a week (3 Con, 1 Cha)

4. Read (3 Wis)

The camp that I will be working at is called Camp Laurel, it is in Readfield Maine on Echo Lake. I would love to come to the meet up but tt would have to line up with my one day a week I have off so I am not sure if i'll be able. :/ But if we are really lucky and they happen to match up I would love to come! :D Is there an event page or something similar for it so I can stay updated?

I currently can do 5 handstand push ups and 10 pull ups so I figure If I can add one per week I will be right on track to meet my goal.

Got off to a little bit of a late start posting my work out but here it is. So as many of you know I will be going off to Maine in a few weeks and I doubt I will have access to a proper gym so I will complete doing almost all of my workouts over the summer though only calisthenics. Here is my first week’s workout:

Directions: Complete the warm up. Then do the workout as a circuit completing the exercises as quickly as possible. Complete 3-4 sets. Rest as much as needed and aim to complete the whole workout as quickly as possible. Do the workout 4 days a week for two weeks, and try to improve your time during each workout.

Warm Up ~ 5min

30 Pushups, 8 Pull ups, 20 Squats, 20 Jumping Jacks, 10 Arm Circles

Workout

Box Jumps: 25 reps (On a picnic table)

Reverse Push Up: 10 reps

Mixed Grip Pull Up: 5 reps per side (10 total)

Burpee: 10 Reps

Hand Stand Push Up (Against a wall): 5 reps

Plank: 1min

I finished the first set at 6:05 (1:15 rest)

Started the second at 7:20 and finished at 15:20 (2:00 rest)

Started the third at 17:20 and finished the workout at 26:45

I am thinking about adding another Ab exercise to the circuit what do you guys think?

I'm gonna be impressed by the 15 pull-up. That's straight up BEAST in my book.

Um. What does SUBBED mean? I've been on the line a time or two, but I haven't seen it used as much as here and now I'm wondering.

Thanks OmHawk! I'll be pretty happy with myself If I can manage to get to 15 as well :D I believed subbed means that they subscribed to the forum post to that its easier to keep up with :)

I'm working towards Calisthenic goals this 6-weeks b/c I'm sort of gym-less at the moment, but I am determined to make some pretty good workouts. So far I think I've done a pretty good job. Today was my second day of my workout:

Workout

Box Jumps: 25 reps (On a picnic table)

Reverse Push Up: 10 reps

Mixed Grip Pull Up: 5 reps per side (10 total)

Burpee: 10 Reps

Hand Stand Push Up (Against a wall): 5 reps

Plank: 1min

This time I finished the first set at 6:18 with 00:42 rest [+00:13]

Started the second at 7:00 and finished at 14:04 with 1:56 rest [-01:56]

Started the third at 16:00 and finished the workout at 23:44 [-03:01]

* the +/- sec at the end is the time difference between the two days

So for the most part my workout goals are on track but I haven't really been reading like I wanted too, time to change that and get down to reading!

I wish I could do burpees. They're so good for general fitness... I just spent so long in the Army that I feel like I was bad when I do them. Like, "Why am I pushing? I've done nothing."

This is going to sound silly, but put a book by your toilet. Potty reading time will help meet your goal.
