HAVING FUN!

 

I'm stealing some of this from Kibcy because she has an awesome challenge concept that I think might help me get back into, well everything. I keep giving up on these challenges either half way through or around the last week. I'm not enjoying myself and if I want to get fit and stay healthy, I need to find a way to make it fun. This challenge is not going to be about passing or failing, it will be about learning to have fun and build good habits. I will be evaluating how I'm doing at the end of the 3rd week just so I have a record of how I'm progressing.

My first focus for this challenge is to enjoy moving my body, to enjoy playing and using it. I can go for a walk with the dog, yoga, go to a park, be a tourist, dance around the house, and enjoy the outdoors. I just need to do something that is active and that is enjoyable. Does not matter how long this is done, but that it is done EVERY DAY. 21 out of 21 (3 weeks)

My secondary focus is to enjoy food. Food should be fun and should be enjoyed! My only goal for this is to eat out no more than 3 meals a week. 9 out of 9 (3 weeks) 

I'm moving up with the NF fitness guide and starting Level 2 Recruit Workout so that would be 3x at the gym. 9 out of 9 (3 weeks) 

To really enjoy myself, I need a clean environment. I recently deep cleaned my entire house in prep for my sister who was house sitting for me. When my home is clean and free of clutter I tend to find more enjoyment in my home than I do when papers pile up. For my lifestyle goal, I want to keep my house visitor ready. This means the kitchen will be clean, garbage will be taken out, the living room will not have stacks of paper everywhere and the bathrooms will be clean.

 

 

I also would like to participate in the mini challenges as much as I can.

High five Jonesy, those are great!  I love how you are making it fun and not a chore!  I'm the same way with my house..."messy bed, messy head" syndrome for sure.  If I come home to a messy house I find that I don't have any motivation.  I'm rooting for you!

Thank you all for the support!

 

Week one went pretty well with the exception of missing one workout and going 1 over my eating out. While I went over my limit for eating out I didn't charge anything to my credit card so that made me happy. Staying within budgets, yay! As for my workouts, Thursday's workout tweaked my right shoulder a little too much, so I rested on Sunday. I plan on making up for that 1 workout tonight though.

SUNDAY, MONDAY & TUESDAY
Complete Mini Challenge 2 : Up the protein - 60g Monday 76g Tuesday

Enjoying myself : No fun exercise just a relaxing Sunday, 10 min "fun" clean on Monday and Tuesday aka dancing around and singing while I clean dishes and straighten up

Enjoying food : Home cooked meals for Sunday and Monday. 5 - Tuesday I had dinner out

Recruit Workout : Workouts this week keep getting pushed back. I either have something come up or I just don't go. With 5 days left and plans on 2, I will be combining my workouts. Workout plans are for Thursday & Saturday strength and Friday and sometime on Sunday cardio.

Clean environment : I'm proud of myself, 1.5 weeks and my place is still visitor ready. Now I just need to keep this up. Bathroom cleaning and Vacuuming planned for this weekend.

I'm doing a week report because I didn't have much time to hop on the computer last week. I did manage to keep track but I never had a chance to post it.

WEEK 2 REPORT
Complete Mini Challenge 2 : Up the protein - Failed - I managed to get enough protein on 4 of the days.

Enjoying myself : I did take a few moments to enjoy myself every day. Times ranged from 5 mins to 10 mins of meditating, stretching, or short walks.

Enjoying food : 6 - Wednesday I had a wine and pizza get together with a few friends, 7 Saturday & 8 Sunday I had Red Robin. I'm almost at my max on eating out for the first 3 weeks, only 1 more to go. Looks like I need to be more proactive and make an easy on the go lunch to avoid over doing it. 

Recruit Workout : No work outs. I'm really dissapointed in myself right now and I'd like to blame plans and headaches but I could have handled my not wanting to workout on days that I had no plans better. 

Clean environment : Still struggling on a day to day basis of keeping my home clean but it is easily cleaned up and I've been taking the garbage out on a regular basis so no pile ups.

WEEK 3 REPORT

Complete Mini Challenge 3 : Get Limber - I managed to squeeze in a few stretching sessions. Not as many as I would have liked but oh well. 3 out of 7 days.

Enjoying myself :I did enjoy myself last week. I didn't do a lot of activities or longer than 5 mins but I was not a complete slacker.

Enjoying food : Monday 9 Dinner out & Thursday 10 Dinner out. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - Sunday home cooked all.

Recruit Workout : No work outs. This is driving me nuts. I literally sat on my couch one night in my gear ready to go but I just didn't. For week 4 I'm trying something a little different. While I do enjoy working out later in the evening, I just don't want to leave the house once I've gotten home. So week 4 I'm attempting to do 2 early morning workouts (4:30am).

Clean environment : So with my laziness with workouts so was my laziness with cleaning. I let things pile up through out the week instead of cleaning as I go. It's under control now but all of last week my dining room table was a disaster. I swear it cries out for papers and stuff.

Sooo I started off this week with an awesome workout outlook and it completely got smushed today.  I woke up early Monday and went on a 20 min walk with the dog, almost a mile. Tuesday I got up at 4:30am to go to the gym and did Workout A in my program. I was feeling awesome. Yes it's only been 2 days but it's the best I've felt in weeks. On my drive home I decided to stop and get a Mint shake from a local burger joint. As I was walking back to my car, just as the clouds opened up and DUMPED rain down on me, as I stepped off a curb my foot twisted in a huge crack in the pavement, ankle twisting and sending me to the ground and hitting my car. Oh and my shake dumped out all over my front seat. I spent 20 mins in the downpour scooping ice cream off my front seat and limping too and from the trash can. Now my ankle hurts like the dickens and it makes me really sad. I'm hoping it will get better soon but right now I'll be doing RICE for a while.  :crushed:

Oh no Jonesy! I am so sorry to hear about your injury.  RICE is the best thing now for that ancle.  May you have a speedy recovery.  Please take good care of yourself during this time!  Enjoy the weekend.  Hugs
