I failed all but one goal which I'll get a D on.  I gave up midway through for about 2 weeks.  Picked it back up, and met the A rating of one goal if it were not for giving up.

SO, here's my recap of how the challenge went for me.

1) Work out a minimum of five times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes a workout. Potential stat increase: +3 STA, +3 STR

Well, I met the five times a week rule for the first three weeks. I had a lazy three workout week followed by a guilty five workout week followed by a four. I'm gonna call that a B- and award 2/3 point value for +2 STA, +2 STR.

2) Cook dinner at home at least four times a week.  Potential: +2 CON

I did pretty well at this. There was a week where I wasn't home (doctor's visits) but when I was home I did really well. I'm giving me full points, cause I can't help being away from home for the doctor.  +2 CON.

3) Spend at least one hour of every day out of my house. Potential: +4 WIS

This I did all right at. I'm giving myself +3 even though I met the goal all days but two because I had to have someone go with me a few times. I feel that's not entirely in the spirit of the goal, so I docked points. +3 WIS

4) Finish preparing my card game and get it online for sale.  +3 CHA
I award myself a single point for this, because all I did on it was a few more sketches. I got really distracted. Maybe I shouldn't have put an art goal in with a bunch of fitness goals? I had zero inspiration for it most of the challenge, though I was still writing and drawing. +1 CHA

Also, for the whole six weeks I lost precisely two pounds. That was a big disappointment with all the working out, but there's a possibility I cook a lot of food. I did go down a whole pant size though, and I did increase the weights during workout twice. I'm gonna call that a win. Next challenge I will make about actual weight loss, though, because while I'm loving the new muscle I'd like to be in a size 12, I think, not a 16.

Weight loss as a result of working out is one of the largest misunderstandings.  You are working out, and building muscle.  Muscle weighs more than fat.  You therefore initially put on weight.  Focus more on that lost pant size than the weight loss aspect.  And read up on Spezzy.  She's the deadlift superhero mentioned in the site introduction resources.

I think you did great, hun!  I don't think anyone reachs 100% of the goals they set for themselves, and as an older farmer used to tell me, "If you accomplish everything you set out to do in a day, then you didn't set out to do enough!"  I would also second Seleas' comment about the weight, your changes in body shape and dropping a whole pants size in 6 weeks are far more worthy of note than what the scale says, so good on ya mate! :)

You did great! Dropping a clothing size is a wonderful achievement. And getting out of the house, even though you had someone with you sometimes, is awesome. I know how hard it is to do, I have been in a similar situation myself. I hope you realise what excellent progress you are making. Carry on the momentum!

Well, I can't do too much lifting. At least, not deadlifting. I have a lower back injury from the Army life, and I tend to either use dumbbells (easier for me to control) or machines (harder to get out of form and tear something).

I guess I am a bit hard on myself on the goals. I should just be happy that I stuck with it mostly, and get ready for the next one. This time gave me a lot of ideas for what I want to do.

My point isn't that you should take up dead lifting, it's just that you shouldn't sweat the scale.  If you are in better shape, both physically and mentally, then the scale doesn't matter.  In fact watching the scale can do more mental and will harm than good.  :)  Remember, it fluctuates on a daily basis depending on the contents of your gut, not just as a way to weigh your gut.  ;)
