I'm back for a bit, I think!

Met with some Rebels for the Trapped Puzzle Room today - it was a great time!

I'd be up for trying another room there as a group if anyone was interested!

I would probably be down but I'd need at least a few weeks heads up given the current schedule.

I'm over the river in Wisconsin, but I'd love to hear about plans happening on the East Side. I'm in to mountain biking, and am already itching to hit the slopes this winter (but I'm not ready for the cold yet).

Fitness goal: Lower weight from 243 lbs to below 230, or lower body fat from 22% to below 20%.

Why fitness matters(my big why):
I want to be strong & fit so when I want to try or do any activity, I know my body will be able to do it.

Or, stated another way:

My level of fitness is directly proportional to the level of awesomeness I can achieve.

Welcome Beerzerker. I do a bit of mountain biking too. It's not often I cross the river and go east though.

Sloth, where do you bike on the west side of the river? I grew up in MN, and my son and I always love new trails.

I live in South Minneapolis, not too far from the Mega Mall. I'd probably never leave it if I didn't mountain bike.

The trails I frequent are Lebanon, Murphy, Theo (only because it's close), Hillside (a bit above my skill set), and I race at Buck Hill. I used to go to Afton a lot when they had trails. I do foray into Wisconsin a couple times a year to go to Levis and Nine Mile.

What trails are by you? Does your son do High School racing? That has really exploded. I agreed to be an assistant coach a couple years ago but the football coach vetoed the team.

My son is in junior high. We don't go as much as I'd like, but this spring has been super weird with all the rain.

There's a place in Menomonie at Lake Menomin park that is our usual because it's close. Not a huge number or trails, but it's challenging enough to be fun and show us we have a lot of work to do. https://sites.google.com/site/menomonieareamountainbikeassoc/Home/2012_map

Our favorite local place is Lowes' Creek in Eau Claire, but it's about an hour drive from our house. Lots of variety crammed into a relatively small park. http://chippewaoffroad.org/trails/lowes-creek

I want to take a trip back up to the Chequamegon trails for a weekend. That was a blast. http://www.cambatrails.org

There are also trails in River Falls I want to check out and I've heard good things about some of the places close to the Cities. Just need to get out and do it.

I gave it 48 hours then deleted it. I did go for a jog one day for the sole purpose of hatching some pokemons. needing to keep the app open and alive and being enticed to catch pokemons interfered with the run thought. The activity level is in a sweet spot that is probably perfect for teenagers who aren't used to doing anything but an annoyance for people who can run a 5k.

@The Most Loathed That I have to say is the best reasoning I have heard about not playing Pokemon Go.

I sadly don't own a device that can play it... One day...

Yeah, running and Pokemon aren't great together. Walking around your neighborhood or hanging with friends around PokeStops seems to be the key.
My local area is kind of crummy for it though and I'm a little intimidated to go to the larger meet ups. =)

I'd be happy to just hit a patio for some grub this month if anyone is game.

Mall of America, perhaps?

Suddenly, there are all of these young people hanging out at Ingress portals .... :acne:

I did install Pokemon Go .... because my daughter is playing it.  But after a day, I'm kinda meh.

So, figured this might be interesting to some of you.  Allegiance Fitness (a HUGE gym up in Mounds View) is closing up shop.  If you were thinking about picking up some exercise equipment, check out their auction.  You might be able to find great deals on stuff.  I'm going to be keeping an eye on their lifting platforms.  If i can get one cheap, I may have to do it.

Welcome! I've never visited your little hamlet but we can say you're part of the greater-greater-greater Twin Cites metro.

If you ever feel compelled to come to the Cities for and event (charity run, lifting meet, pub crawl), you can often find one of us somewhere nearby. If we ever get another bar-b-q (fall potluck?) planned and you feel up to the trip, you're welcome here.
