Lwow- Lose 27 before turning 27

A few things:

1.) Best of luck with all the life decisions. I went through some of that pretty recently and while it can be a bit of a scary time, it should also be exciting. Yay life path! :)

2.) I hear you on your clothes dilemma. That limbo phase while your body is still changing is the worst! I'd say once your old clothes start to reach comically oversized status on your new body, you have to get new ones, but there's something sort of perversely satisfying about wearing clothes that fit (or maybe don't) in a totally new way because of working out.

3.) Probably should not be what I'm focusing on, but I have to ask: where did you eat in Philly? My boyfriend's there, so I've been visiting a fair amount and essentially eating my way through the city. Not great for my diet, but you will pry my biscuits out of my cold, dead hands.

Keep up the good work going into the final stretch of the challenge (and beyond)!

Hey Prefect! I never noticed you were a....Connectican? I think the correct term is Nutmeger, but I am not sure it is recognized. I am one as well, Lyme, CT born and bred :) It's a great place, I certainly miss it this time of year.

Now for a proper reply:

1) Thanks for the luck I need it :)

2) It is fun to find and to some extent to wear the stuff that is too big now, but on the other hand I want to look nice now that I am not carrying so much excess with me. However, I have been able to do some "closet shopping" which is to say things that I bought too small with high expectations and thing which used to fit are now fitting again :)

3) Now for the dirt...where is the awesome breakfast place in Philly...it is Honey's Sit-n-Eat and I don't feel totally guilty spreading the word because they are a Jewish/Organic/Healthy...ish place. They have all farm fresh/organic stuff so if you have willpower, you can stay paleo there. If you have no willpower, I recommend the breakfast bomb, the latkes and the challa bread. The biscuts are also awesome and you can order them as a side and they have fresh preserves on the table (is that an oxymoron?) or you can order them with sausage gravy which is pretty cheat-worthy as well. That said, we did have our car broken into at 10 in the morning parked in the neighborhood...so head's up. That said, Philly is an awesome town and Honey's is way better than their cheese steaks.

I am sure I am not alone saying that this long weekend was not the best for eating. I feel horrible today and have a lot of motivation to get back to being awesome.

Oh yeah. Yeah yeah yeah. Too much beer and wine, too many good times. Re-entry to awesome starts this morning!

I want to be fit and healthy so I can explore and enjoy all the beauty the outdoor world has to offer, in all kinds of weather, all the days of my life.

Getting back to awesome, i think I will be there just in time for the end of the challenge :) As long as I am more awesome than not awesome I am happy and I am so winning that statistic

As for the big life decisions that just keep coming up, I have come to the healthy recognition that I have very little control over my life, so I just need to do a lot of research and make informed decisions. The good news is that I think I have the biggest of the decisions figured out and it makes me really really really happy.

An unexpected thing I am doing well in this challenge is saving money. The prospect of buying a house makes it a lot easier to save. Every time I think of buying something silly, I just put that much in my savings instead. It is so much easier to save with a goal.

Down 30 lbs overall (1.5 years in the making...slow and steady is my motto) But that was my big overall goal.

My first 4 weeks were awesome, clean eating and workouts every weekday morning, week 5 was a mess and week 6 I started to get back on track, so I am doing well now.

I navigated through 2 weddings and all sorts of tempting social events. I signed up for a 15k in December that gives me a goal to work against-which is really helpful for me. Doing well wearing sunscreen and hats.

I set up my desk and after week 2 I totally forgot that I was supposed to be draw/painting.

Unexpectedly, I decided that in the next year, I am going to be buying a house (OMG) and due to that, my very first car. So I have savings goals in my future.

I did a health and fitness test at work, I broke the company record for flexibility-hooray! I also got some good feedback on my heart function, my muscles being balanced on the right side of my body to my left and did a more accurate body fat measurement than I have yet.

Overall I give myself an A because I do well with positive feedback. I made mistakes along the way, but what is life without some cheats? I am doing really well for me and every day I am better. Admittedly, my A is a lot more hollow than other people's C's on here, but I have to say I am really happy with myself for getting results on a program that is really just becoming my life instead of a program.

Goals as Stated 6 Weeks ago

So far I have lost 26 lbs, I want to push (well) past 27 before my 27th birthday which is right after this challenge ends

Diet/Fitness:

In the next six weeks I want to continue to cut some fat and gain muscle through diet and consistent workouts. I would really like to loose at least 5 lbs which would put me past a total of 30 lbs lost. But numbers on the scale are wacky...so not do or die.

I would also like to set a goal around strength functionality (10 real pushups, 1 pull up, increase dead lift) not sure yet where I want to focus on this one

*Paleo, I have 2 weddings in this challenge and a few social events that will be cheats

*Every weekday that I am not traveling, hit the gym or yoga mondays before work for lifting

*Sign up for a running race and put together a training plan

*Do something fun that requires physical stamina (i.e. paintball, urban scavenger race, etc)

*Drink tons of water, it's already 96 out today, wear at least face sunscreen daily

Level up my life:

*draw/paint once a week

*get my desk/office area set up at home
