Thai style marinated chicken with a watermelon, cucumber, cilantro and almond salad

 

What recipe or brand of marinate did you use for the chicken?! Looks awesome.

 

 

I experimented with this last night.  Chicken wings and steak wrapped in bacon.

What recipe or brand of marinate did you use for the chicken?! Looks awesome.

 

 

I've been trying different ones, my wife really liked this one. 

1/4 cup cilantro

1/4 cup scallions 

2 limes (juiced)

3 Tbsp Thai fish sauce

1 Tbsp soy sauce

3 Tbsp sugar

3 jalapenos (chopped, seeded if you don't like heat, I like it with seeds)

5 cloves garlic (minced)

1 Tbsp grated ginger

1/2 tsp cheyenne pepper

 

Combined and cooked for 10 minutes over medium heat to blend the flavors.

Nice! The SO and I don't like cilatro too much tho. We've been looking for a good way to use fish sauce since we didn't like it in our stir fry.

I got a new boomerang yesterday, trouble is I can't seem to throw the old one away... :tongue:

5 eggs. 725g sweet potato. 1 Guinness milk glass of milk (which unfortunately needed to be cut out of the picture). It's a terrible picture because from a terrible tablet.

Mama Warriors use REALLY BIG PANS.  2 lbs of beef and spices - and finished beef with broccoli.  Yeah, yeah, there are carrots in there for the little guy.  He doesn't eat broccoli.  Yet.  Serves 4.

OMIGOD WHAT'S THE RECIPE FOR THE QUICHES???I

Chopped some spinach and garlic cloves in the food processor and sauteed it in garlic oil (do this for dinner all the time, so just make extra)

Grease muffin tins.  Line each tin with a slice of prosciutto.  Beat 2 less eggs than you have lined muffins and then beat in about 1/2 cup of spinach.  Divide evenly among prosciutto lined tins.  Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until eggs are set.

Nice! The SO and I don't like cilatro too much tho. We've been looking for a good way to use fish sauce since we didn't like it in our stir fry.

This recipe is pretty easy to make and I really like the flavours:

it looks a little weird cause i add sour cream to it, but it's my chili that i make.  ground beef, onion, green bell pepper, diced tomatoes, dark red kidney beans, black beans, tomato paste, and chili seasoning mix.

Beans are filler. It gets in the way of eating the meat. :)

 

Truth.  I normally think Texas is a bit full of it self culinarily speaking, but in regards to brisket and chili, Bigm is correct.

This is the funniest argument ever. (Well, second to the argument I saw yesterday on whether someone "believes in" veganism. Can you just say you don't believe in it, and it doesn't exist?

 

Tree. Woods. Veganism. You know. Confusing.) Anyway, it makes me want to bring up high bar vs low bar squat. No? OK then. Fair enough. 

 

PS- Brisket- BigM you need to give me some guidelines for smoking. I have one brisket with my part of a cow. One. So much pressure. I need to do it right. Texas forever! (Except with chili. I also like beans. But don't let that influence your recipe-sharing.)

This is a compromise I'm willing to accept. Both here and when I'm around Texans or in Texas (Texas forever (at some point this saying should get old, but it doesn't)!).

 

I saw a sign that said "chili con carne with meat" once. Brought to you by the same disclosure system as the syrup laden walnuts which were labeled "Wet nuts (contains nuts)".
