Anamal
That's a third vote for me for the Swedish Classic circuit! I totally want to try that one day! Although, the skiing might be difficult since I live in southern California. But this gets me inspired to get back on my bike. Also, can I asked what helped you learn to do pull ups? I'm still working on mine (just one in fact) and any tips are appreciated! Link to comment
Maria
I have never heard of the Swedish Classic Circuit but it sounds freakin' awesome! It supposedly is! Never done one, but if all the guys can do it to keep of the 30-year-crisis, so can I! Ditto this! You've got a great challenge ahead of you =)Thanks! That's a third vote for me for the Swedish Classic circuit! I totally want to try that one day! Although, the skiing might be difficult since I live in southern California. But this gets me inspired to get back on my bike. Also, can I asked what helped you learn to do pull ups? I'm still working on mine (just one in fact) and any tips are appreciated!Roller skies? I am far from doing full pull ups. Actually, I've been slacking greatly in my strength training and can hardly do a proper push up these days... So the 10+10 are just doing the hardest variation I can do right now. For pull ups that is right now negatives and doing them half way, with my toes on the floor. I'm hoping that this challenge will take me closer to the a proper one! Ugh. Things I don't like when people do: Call me up 10 min before I'm going off to bed, which I tell them when I answer, and then they keep on talking for 30 min and with serious stuff that I don't feel like I can interrupt. And then I feel bad because it's family that I haven't spoken to for quite some time and honestly don't feel like talking to. Especially not right before bed. Oh, and unhappy newborn neighbour baby and renovating neighbours at 21.30. Someone buy me a country cabin, please? Hrm. PMS is not the best way to start a challenge, but at least it will only get better after the first few days. Maria
Bumpy first week of the challenge. PMS/period and a slight cold put a stop to my running before I even started. A little disappointed in myself for not at least doing yoga, but oh well, there is a new opportunity in about 3 weeks... Other people seem to do fine running while only having a slight cold, but whenever I try I end up with a full blown cold, so I try to avoid in nowadays. Took a 3K walk yesterday, followed later with a 7K run. Felt perfectly fine for 5K and thought I could do the planned 12K. And then my air pipes started to hurt and it wouldn't go away, so I cut it short. Today I have some not very nice coughing, but otherwise am fine, so I hope it will go away soon. I stumbled a bit with the contemplation and being outside too, but I'm starting to get it into my routine. Strength is going fine, after a single week of greasing the groove I'm feeling stronger. A little bummed I forgot to the last pull ups on Friday. All this means that I have to stay closely on track for the rest of the challenge to get my A. I'm pumped for the next week! OllieFox
I'm the same way when I have a cold. If I do basically anything other than sleep, it just gets worse. It's not fun I hope you're feeling better. It's good that you listened to your body and stopped when it started to hurt. Yay for routine making! Once that's done it only gets easier Level 4 Wood Elf Assassin Link to comment
Maria
Last week went fine. I'm very generous with my scoring. Going outside might mean tacking out the trash or sitting on a bench for 5 min, but it's the habit and motivation for change that counts, as the latest NF blogpost points out. Got my running in. But now the cold is back. The downside of working with people I guess. Not doing very well with relationships either, but I should get better when everyone is back in their routine. Two days more, and I have two weeks off work! No plans, which will be a hard test. I'm hoping for some lovely days of summer, even though the hot weather is done and over for the next 10 months. OllieFox
It's definitely the habit and motivation that counts! I'm sorry to hear that your cold came back but at least with time off coming up, you can truly rest up and get better. Nice days will help get you outside too! Fingers crossed! Maria
I.... just gave up on the challenge on my vacation and then first week back at work. I think I'll just go on and give myself and overall C. And then to move on to the next challenge. I can't bother with this one anymore, it didn't work out all that well for me, even if I did pretty good for three weeks. But it was a good challenge, because it helped me figure out what works for me and what don't work and what I would like my life to be. So mornings I need to get myself pumped and going. I don't enjoy walks outside when I force myself to them. I do like meditations etc, but they do nada in the mornings and often not helpful in the evenings I'm exhausted from work. Which is another topic of its own... I also prefer focused strength training, but the most important thing is routine and putting on the hard hat. As for skills, didn't turn out as good as I had hoped. Most due to the work exhaustion mentioned above. I'm happy if I manage to cook a proper meal and pay my bills after work, my todo list is growing. For the next challenge I'm going back to a system I tried last time that worked better than this. Also, could someone please change the day to only have 22 hours? Would work out so much better for me and my sleeping rhythm. idealistinfire
Growing to-do lists are tricky obstacles to any good challenge. I'm working on that myself. And I'd change the number of hours for you, but I lost the manual that tells me how to do just that and I'm pretty sure if I get the order wrong, the world will blowup. I'd just rather not risk it, ya know? Level 5 Lizardfolk: Assassin STR - 4, DEX - 3, STA - 5, CON -4, WIS - 20, CHA - 12"You want to know the difference between a master and a beginner?
