Zuel
Lots of delicious food everywhere Mouse! I bet you´ll feel more energetic now that you are going back to Keto. Great updates! I felt confident in my wrist, so I tried bench press today. Got up to 75lbs and did my full set without any strange feelings! I opted out of doing deadlifts, though, so I can see if I develop any pains tomorrow. If not, then Friday I'll try deadlifts and see if those give me any problems. Best to take it slow rather than my old way of just kamikaze-ing into something 'cause I think I might be better. Also did a full 15mins of stretching today and foam rollering on my legs and back. Disappointingly, my back didn't crack. It feels like it needs to. However, my legs feel much better. Woot! I´m so glad to read you are feeling better! I´m curious how far will you go once you are feeling at your best! May you heal very soon, and with that in mind: BOOK THAT MASSAGE GIRL!!! The Mouse
Lots of delicious food everywhere Mouse! I bet you´ll feel more energetic now that you are going back to Keto. Great updates! Woot! I´m so glad to read you are feeling better! I´m curious how far will you go once you are feeling at your best! May you heal very soon, and with that in mind: BOOK THAT MASSAGE GIRL!!! XDI certainly had a good time - but alas, training week and the potluck lunches kill me! However, the good news is there are a ton of excellent vegetarian cooks and not-so-healthy bakers among the staff. (To be clear, us part-timers were the lucky ones who didn't have to cook) Ha ha, I'm happy to report I'm doing both bench and deadlift without any problems. It seems the wrist has healed just fine. The legs are still quite stiff and I've actually worn my roller down so it no longer rolls - it slides - half the time. But no matter! I'll press on! ...I know!I may have to end up booking it for after the challenge, depending on my MT's availability, however I will book a massage before challenge end. Bacon puffs?? Do tell... Oh, they're fantastic. Pork rinds, essentially. Great for boosting my calorie count when I need, and they're a perfectly keto chip! 0g carbs, but there's .5g trans fats per serving. I'm sure there are brands without, though, or if the trans fats are there, they'd be the type present in pig skin. I'm not sure if one could consider them "paleo", but they're delish! H'okay! So, updates! DAYS TWENTY-EIGHT and -NINE and THIRTY!Iron BarSTR - 6/8Karate - 6/8Cardio - 6/8 Fruit of KetoDay 28: - 1147cal- 68g fat- 32g carbs- 101g proteinBreakfast: Tamagoyaki, nori, 1tbsp whipping cream in teaLunch: 1c spinach, 1 burgerDinner: 1c spinach, 1 Prime Stuffed Broccoli and Cheddar Chicken BreastSnack: 1 sugar free pudding, 2 sugar free jello, 1/2c ice cream (a treat from the Dean of Students and a work bonding activity - hell, even the lactose intolerant girl had a smidge!), 1/4c pistachios, 20g cheese, 50g pork rinds Day 29:- 1510cal- 111g fat- 18g carbs- 103g proteinBreakfast: Tamagoyaki, nori, 1 crustless cheesecake cupcakeLunch: 1.5c spinach, 1 burgerDinner: 1 container Goldseal Albacore Tuna in water, 2tbsp Mayo, 1 tamagoyaki, nori sheet, 8tbsp whipping creamSnacks: 40g cheese, 2tbsp half and half in tea Day 30:CALORIC COUNT UNCERTAIN/UNTRACKEDToday was a catered lunch and a big make-up date night for the boy and I, so both were free meals. Very nice, and both were great for social bonding. In anticipation, I skipped breakfast and fasted until 12:20PM (about 14 hours). I also had a lot less than I expected to at lunch and only ate half of my dinner - I couldn't get through it all. So I think I fell within my goal calories, but totally screwed keto over this time. Second cheat meal used.Unless I miscounted - and if I did, then please let me know. Blessing of HealNo action We get our interim schedule tomorrow, so I hope to call either then or Friday to book my MT. She may be unavailable until after the challenge, but I will at least call her and arrange for one. The Mouse
I have to save your thread and Chrissa for lunch time. They make me feel hungry XD. Call me silly, but reading about your recovery gives me hope for my girlfriend, she has problems with her wrists too. =0I'll have to check her thread out! :3Ha ha, glad to make you hungry - there's so many things that can be done with food, it's amazing! I hope your girlfriend recovers soon. Did she sprain her wrist or something? I stress-fractured my other one years ago - took a while for it to get better, but after about two or three months, I was okay. The long recovery was namely due to me thinking I'd done nothing, and proceeding to do volleyball tryouts for about two straight weeks straight after fracturing it. Thankfully it didn't get any worse. Okay, catch-up time. DAYS THIRTY-ONE, -TWO & -THREE!Iron BarSTR - 7/8Karate - 6/8 (I slept through my Saturday session! ;A; Though I guess it's not entirely a loss - sleep and rest are vital, too)Cardio - 7/8 Fruit of KetoDAY 31- 432 cal- 26g fat- 8g carbs- 42g proteinBreakfast: Tamagoyaki, Nori + 1tbsp whipping cream in teaLunch: 1.5c spinach, burgerDinner: inadvertently skippedSnacks: 20g cheese I didn't really intend to eat this little, but between a lot of travelling in the evening without any keto-friendly restaurants nearby, I figured I could skip a meal. I wasn't too hungry, either. Also, the next day we were having a catered lunch for training and I figured fasting couldn't hurt. DAY 32- 1404cal- 27g fat- 48g carbs- 62g proteinBreakfast: skipped (fasting)Lunch: caloric count uncertain, but I had .75 of a full sandwich consisting of 1/2 an egg-white sandwich (which was apparently "vegetarian") and 1/4 a corned beef sandwich. I also had about 1/2c excellent potato salad (I can understand now why the full-time staff who were training us were so excited during the morning breakout sessions) and 3/4c of punch. And I had two squares of this chocolate-marshmallow-graham-cracker thing that were delicious. It also helped to get me through the afternoon without falling asleep.Dinner: taco beef (spicier than usual), 2 leaves butter lettuce, 1/3c tex mex cheese mix, 1/2 mangoSnacks: Rainbow marshmallow square (essentially marshmallows covered in peanut butter, and I intend to find a way to make a keto-version) DAY 33- 1444cal (may increase slightly after this post)- 82g fat- 60g carbs- 105g proteinBreakfast: slept throughLunch: 1c pasta, 2oz beef steak strips, 1 dinner rollDinner: 1/4 cup tex mex cheese mix, apprx 50g taco beef, 2 butter lettuce leafs, 1 tamagoyaki, 1 sheet nori, 1 tbsp mayo, 1 container Goldseal Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water.Snacks: 1 keto cookies & cream chocolate bar, 1 bag Frito Lay Baken-Ets (pork rinds). I didn't intend to have another cheat meal this time (I fail the diet component of this challenge, and I don't mind that. It's been a bad, bad challenge for that, but I feel I needed to do it), but I visited a friend in the afternoon and she told me not to bring food. As I haven't seen her all summer, I figured I'm in no position to tell her no. Plus, fuck it. I can still keep my calories low while visiting a friend. Blessing of HealHaven't had time to book the massage yet. I'll do it after the Labour Day weekend. Horray! Long weekend! Thanks MouseI was fearing she had carpal tunnel, but her physician said it was rather a sprain coming from her thumb muscle from using her smartphone (can you believe it!?), exacerbated by the use of her laptop in uncomfortable positions and trying to do some push ups. If I only could make her keep her hand rested for a few weeks, I´m sure she would heal properly but noooooooooooo. You independent strong women and your want to conquer the world! I've no clue how I sprained my wrist, either. But independence and world conquering must be had! *rawrs* Ha ha, it's so true about the food! Good food makes great company, ha ha! I had a lot of fun with her - she's a great cook, and I'm starting up a character on a literary RP site she's on too since she said she's missed writing together. Now I just have to find a way to play with her, ha ha! How was your Labour Day, Mouse? Yay! Almost done! My labour day was good! Kishi
Well, let's look on the bright side. Sure, the diet's a wash, but on the other hand your physical activity is looking really good! The Mouse
I haven't gotten the massage booked, unfortunately. First week of school caught me off guard. Aaaand I'm pretty depressed with my regression this challenge. Strength wise, I'm better than before, but weight and fat wise, I seem to have gained.I'mma skip the logging for the last few days since it'll only depress me more. Final Weight: 127lbs (+2) some may be water weight, as I haven't been drinking enough water and I've had more carbs than usual recently, but yeah.Body Fat: 30.8ish according to my bodyfat caliper measure. Kishi
Do not panic! Do! Not! Panic! Calipers are notorious for user-error and they take loads of practice, practice which we here in the Rebellion discourage because we don't put much stock in the measurements. Read this. Because even if it is inaccurate, it's still a worthwhile way to make the measurement. Using his information really helped me mellow out about the whole thing. You had a lot thrown at you this challenge. You looked like you were doing really well, but it sounds like you didn't finish as strongly as you would have liked. That sucks and it hurts to deal with, but you owe it to yourself to own your accomplishments as well. Work like a farmer, train like an athlete, fight like a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:3-6 BATTLE! terrormortus
I have a very simple logic for this bad thinking. You're stronger, which means you built up muscle, which means that extra weight is the rock hard abs no one dare mess with. Seriously though scales and tools like that suck, go find a pair of pants that don't fit to prove that you've improved.
