LostOne's Attempt to Survive the Apacolypse Part 2

Hi guys!

If you've followed my last challenge you'll know that I'm running in the upcoming Run for Your Lives Race in California on September 28, alongside fellow Nerd gibnic! Both of us are intending on finishing as Survivors (or just finishing period :P).

Now my last challenge didn't end well, so I will be working extra hard on this one. After all, I have an obstacle course race to finish and with flying colors to!

Goal #1: Train or Workout Everyday: I spend all day home so I have the time and equipment to get fit. But I won't overtrain, if I start feeling exhausted or really sore I'll take a rest day.

A: 100%

B: 95%

C: 85%

F: 75%

Goal #2: Eat Semi-Paleo: My biggest issues has always been my eating habits. One of the many drawbacks living with bread and rice loving family! But I will keep trying to stick to eating right until I get a habit of it.

A: No Slip-ups!

B: Two Slip-ups.

C: Three Slip-ups.

F: Four or more.

Goal #3: Keep My Room and Bathroom in Order: Doesn't seem like a big issue, but I want to be able to actually find stuff in my room.

A: Go back to my old habit of cleaning once a week.

B: Miss a week.

C: Miss two weeks.

F: Room resembles a hazard zone again!

Life Goal: Do not turn on computer until evening in order to report! And no video games until Sunday!!

A: Follow 100%

B: Turn on computer once before evening.

C: Do it twice.

F: Man I have a real problem!

I'll post more later, but it's really late where I am and I need to sleep. So night all! :moon:

LOL, great goals, LostOne! Hilarious grading comments! Do you have a particular workout plan (such as days for upper body, lower body, pushing, pulling, etc.)? Might help prevent the overtraining possibility.

Looking forward to seeing how you rock this challenge!

P.S. Tractor tires to play with yet?

I still don't know what you're talking about with the last challenge finishing badly. The only thing bad about you is that you're a bad ass!

(Though I cannot, in fact, speak for the quality of your ass.)

You go on being awesome.  I had decent results last challenge lifting every day--either legs/back or arms/abs/chest. I'm sure you'll be a great candidate to survive the zombie apocalypse!

Woot!  It's good to see you back again for another go at things.  I can't wait to see how you dominate this challenge and that race!  You are definitely going to have to take pictures, etc.

I was watching the entire Looney Tunes collection when I was writing my challenge, gotta luv the classics! My workout plan involves weight training 4x a week, which can either be 5x5 or CrossFit. I'll be doing that almost every other day, and running training on my non-weight training days. The way I see it, in order to run longer I need to lose body fat and I know for a fact that my body loses fat faster when I lift heavy.

Would you believe it, I went with my dad to pick up hay. And he had to drop his friend's tractor, so while we were unloading it I noticed the tires in a row that he told me about. Most of them were just semi tires, but there were a few Bigass tractor! I told dad to ask him if we could have some of his workers help us load it in the truck but he forgot! He said next time he goes down there he'll ask. Mmmhm he said that last time, so I'll be riding along with him again just to "remind" (nag) him that he promised to ask about the tire.

"Quality of my ass"....well I wouldn't know, I still don't get how butts are attractive. I mean (to quote from the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid)a butts a butt!

You bet I would survive! I am WAY to crazy to die off on the first day!

I don't know what you mean by eating semi-paleo.  But other that goals look great and good luck!

I don't agree with paleo's no dairy, or peanuts rule. For now I'm just trying to cut out the sugar and (my mortal enemy) breads *horror music*, just when I think I'm out they pull me back in!

Yes I will be posting a before picture tomorrow, it will motivate me more to make a significant change to the photos once the challenge is over.

Wooo Hoooo

Kick ass and take names, baby!

Hell Yeah!

Today was good, I didn't workout in the gym like I wanted but I did get some exercise cleaning my room! I have to tell you, there is nothing like taking a shower and falling asleep in a bed with freshly dried sheets *inhale* it's so nice......Woah! Dozed off there for a sec :P

Woke up late though so I ended up grabbing a pizza slice on my way out to do chores. But the rest of the day was clean! Green smoothie for lunch, and salad, and glazed chicken for dinner.

I'm going to experiment with my schedule tomorrow so I don't end up eating crap in the morning due to me trying to get out the door early. I'll get up, finish all my chores as fast as possible, and THEN eat breakfast. As my food digests I'll work on finishing the room, then workout, eat lunch, and then finish reading Primal Blueprint. Finally I'll get started on that drawing challenge Nara gave me, work on that for an hour. And then just play around the rest of the day! Hopefully it'll be a full proof plan. but as Jayne said in Serenity:

Jayne Cobb: "Yeah but, what you plan an' what actually happens aint exactly been similar."

Me: "Well said Jayne Cobb, well said.......no grenades!!"

Jayne: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAWW!"

Oh there you are! I was looking for you!

A scout huh? I guess we are growing up together!  :love_heart:

I love your goals! The computer thing is such a problem for me recently. Especially a certain social networking site... eeekkk. I think I might borrow your idea and work on not going on there until I am done with everything else. I trick myself into thinking that I can take a break and just check it out for a minute...  :shame:

And, oh dude! I was going to email you the other day and I forgot, but, my time!!! OMG, this was huge for me.... My last run, this past Sat.

1 mile, 10:37

1.5, 15: something I forget now

2 miles, 22:04 or so

and 3 miles was 30:43!!! Can you believe that shiznit?! I was at what, 45 minutes when I started? Some days even more than that!

And I got the Rebel Strength Guide... its some good knowledge.... I need to get myself a pull up bar!

And I promise to be a better rebellion friend here. I got into isolation mode on the last one and didn't really stay very involved other than just checking in, boo for me. I am going to do better this time. We have an apocalypse to survive soon!

Just want to say that pull-up bars are one of my favorite things. Ours is mounted in the kitchen doorway, so we're always monkeying around on it. Waiting for water to boil?  Do hanging leg-raises or something. Walking through? Why walk when you can pull up and swing!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Way ta go girl!! I'm using this challenge to improve my time on 1-mile. But I'm going to have to probably deduct some of my time because the only trails I have, have bigass hills! But hey, it'll improve my stamina to jog up those Behemoths.

Hell Yeah! We'll both come out Survivors!!

Just have time to stop in and say, I FOUND YOU.

Woot.  More to come.

Was I that hard to find? :P

DO EEEEEET!!

Whatcha gonna have for dinner tonight?

Yesterday, Chicken, and steamed veggies. And today was a Green smoothie!

Found you!

Subbing for fun and awesomeness :)

Man! My ninja skills need some work :nonchalance:

So... where them pictures at? Yesterday... you said tomorrow.

O.k. about that, I tried to get them on my gallery but due to the format change I have no idea how to upload them. Any one have the know-how?

Yesterday I had a issue come up that prevented me from putting my plan into action (which sucks because Jayne just LOVES to hear he was right!), while trying to vacuum up the closet next to my room with the wet/dry vac, a mouse popped out of the hose and ran PAST the sitting cat and into my room! I hate it when mice are in my room, because the cats have a habit of catching them, torturing the poor creatures, and then plopping them on my chest when I'm asleep, still alive and crawling.  So I spent all day scowering my room to find it, which I did and my room is spotless as a result!

I went on a walk for 30 min. wearing 5lb. ankle weights (which I found thanks to my clean room :D)

And today: Lower Body 5x5

Squat: 100lb.   Lunges: 30lb.   Hill sprint: 2x   Deadlift: 100lb.  Leg Raise (slow): 5, 10, 15, 20

Tomorrow I want to tell about something awesome that happened at the Baby shower! I have been meaning to post it but I keep forgetting.

waiting to hear about the whiskey shot drinking at the baby shower..........

By the way instead of semi paleo, I call it eatin primal.  I eat dairy and I drink a few beers.  So primal...perhaps I could call it eating a Viking diet....yeah.......

Yay on the clean room, nice to see a good workout.  Steady as she goes.

I am in Cleveland training this week so I am sporatic.  But still checking up on you.  Me and Batman.

Good morning!  Seems like you've been busy :)

Ya know, here's my random two cents for the day.

I heard two different schools of thought on why cats bring us 'presents'... one... because they love and adore us and want to give us the spoils of their hunt.  Or two... they take pity on us and think we need don't know how to hunt, so they give us wounded prey to help teach us.

I think it depends on the cat ;)

Anyway, I hope you're having a good day today.  Good job on cleaning your room, now the trick is keeping it that way, right? :)

Nah, besides I don't drink. And my nana was watching EVERYONE to make sure they weren't any drunks at her house.

I like that, Viking diet!

Hi Batman!! *waves*

I like the belief that cats place dead things in front of their owners because they are actually proving what they are capable of, so don't diss the cat!

Hmmm? What do you mean keeping it clean? I thought the pixies came by and helped good people in their quest in getting high scores on video games by doing their chores!

Interesting cleaning tactic?! Hey, whatever works right? LOL

So true!

Mouse...popped OUT of the hose? Interesting.

Blamedcat, I like your cat theories. Definitely makes sense. "You sad, strange little human...here, have a broken mouse. Surely you can catch that!"

LOL! All I did was grab the hose and the mouse jumped out took one look at me, went *eep* and took off like Speedy Gonzalez under my couch.

Pfffft, my dog has caught more mice than those cats have! Except they still lose to Ginger, but since she's now 19 she's starting to slow down. But she can still take down our youngest cat in a fight and will always draw blood when she bites.

Rest day today, I was so sore from the past two days that it really hurt just to walk and pick anything up. Will be back in working order tomorrow for sure!

About the baby shower: I honestly thought that it would be another get together with my nana who would be just on my back about using school money she had set up for me for college. But it was awesome! She was to preoccupied with everything to even talk to me, and the relatives that were there, were those I haven't seen in a long time some 5 years! They all commented on how good I looked and that I was full of energy instead of the ball of blah that I used to be. I was even goading others to race me in a run around the block!

But what was awesome was finding out that my cousin who is in the Navy as a Corpseman for the Marines and she is a fellow Nerd! She isn't part of the Rebellion yet, but she's subscribed to the articles. We spent almost all day talking about life in the military, workouts, diets, and good movies. It was nice to talk to someone who actually knows what CrossFit and the Paleo diet is! My aunt Betty overheard us and she's now interested in joining the Rebellion! WOOT! She's awesome and even though she's almost 90 she's still sharp mentally and still chops her own wood and walks every day. Plus she's a BIG game Nerd! She has a Wii and the neighbor's boy brings over the 360 and PS3. She's played Call of Duty, Mario (her favorite), Legend of Zelda, Assassin's Creed, and Smash Bros..

That's great that you got to see relatives and that they noticed the change in you.  Even more awesome that you found quest companions in your own family!

My new goal is to lose such a large amount of weight they won't recognize me!

Goal 1: Train or Workout everyday: A : So far so good! I just needed to rest two days because of some really sore muscles. But now I'm back!

Goal 2: Eat Semi-Viking: B : Messed up in the form of two bowls of ice cream. But I will make up for it by being REALLY good this week....and the next, etc.

Goal 3: Keep Clean and Orderly room: A : SUCCESS, that came in the form of a mouse and me trying to find it, but it's clean!

Life Goal: No Computer until evening, no video games until Sunday: A : So far so good, just gotta keep it up!

LOL, ah you sound like my wife.  She's a dog person, but I can totally see that train of thought too.  But cats view owners as staff, not masters... hmm...  Maybe it's a "Hark!  Draw thy gaze near, silly human.  I have slain this vile rodent... what hast thou slain lately?" (yes cats speak in old english didn't you know that?)  Then you get to show them your high score on Left4Dead or something.

haha, if only that were true.  Then all the time I sink into SW:TOR would be rewarded with a spotless house and a real lightsaber...
