Almost missed getting my challenge post up... but I am definitely in. In line with my challenge title I'll keep it short. Well, short by my standards!  :highly_amused:

 

MAIN QUEST: Reduce!

In keeping with the principle that Less is More, I intend to reduce my body weight and fat %, clutter in my home, stress in my life and the things I commit myself to do. Having less "stuff" in my life will free up more of my energy and time to spend with my family and to find&focus on the things that matter most. Clearly, this quest is something that will take more than 6 weeks. In fact, in one way or another, I have been working on it since long before my very first challenge at NF.

 

Main Quest Supporting Missions:

 

1. Reduce weight (+3 STA) - by eliminating “junk†snacking in the evenings (post exercise protein and healthy snacking allowed). Scoring: success if lost 1.5kg and had 85% no "junk" snack evenings is an A, 70% no "junk" snack evenings is a B

 

2. Reduce body fat (+3 STR) - by doing BBY or going for a run 2 to 3 times per week (no more than 4). Scoring: success if body fat drops by 2% and done 2.5 x per week is an A, 2 x per week is a B

 

3. Reduce clutter (+3 DEX) - by doing 100 x 25min declutter/organization sessions. Scoring: success if noticeable reduction in the stuff I own and over 100 sessions done is an A, over 70 sessions done is a B

 

 

Side Fitness/Diet and Life Quests:

 

For my side quests, I've picked things that also support my main quest but are not as tangible. Reducing Stress for Mental Fitness and Reducing Mess for a better life at home.

 

4. Reduce Stress (+1 WIS, +2 CON) - by using the Minimalist ZTD method to organize my life. Scoring: success if I don’t feel worried that I am forgetting things, my inbox and todo lists are under control and I applied it 85% of the days is an A, 70% is a B

 

5. Reduce mess (+2 CHA, +1 WIS) - by applying Do it Now to keeping my Home tidy. Scoring: success if done 85% and wouldn’t need crisis cleaning to welcome visitors is an A, 70% is a B

Thanks. Me too! I can see it... and can almost feel how it will be... just have to get it done. :)

 

Good luck with your goals! I'm excited to see how this challenge pans out! It's amazing how a decluttered room feels different, to me it feels like more energy!

I had to look that up. Thats pretty cool! Shame on me for not knowing it! I used to be a software engineer. Mind you I never worked with Perl. 

 

In case its not clear, LESS = MORE is what I meant with it in this case. :)

Back to report this challenge is a DNF. Embarrassing to admit it but after the first week I pretty much forgot to keep it going. 

 

My Missions were:

 

 

1. Reduce weight (+3 STA): My weight is the same as it was at the beginning of the challenge. I am happy to be maintaining.

 

2. Reduce body fat (+3 STR): my body fat percentage is the same as it was in the beginning of the challenge. 

 

3. Reduce clutter (+3 DEX): I did do a few decluttering sessions, but to be honest, the stats is pretty much the same as it was at the beginning of the challenge.

 

4. Reduce Stress (+1 WIS, +2 CON): Stress level is also the same it was at the beginning of the challenge. I do think work is more stressful, so I must be doing something right for the stress level not to have increased.

 

5. Reduce mess (+2 CHA, +1 WIS): House is not a neat as I would like it. But it is better than it was... still a long way to go.

 

Overall I would say the status of things is pretty much the same, so although I did not finish this challenge, I also did not back slide. So I am going to call that a win. 

 

No leveling up or points for this one!
