Was out of town for about a week, but I'm back in the saddle now. Started week 2 of 5/3/1 yesterday. Feeling those squats already.

Have I mentioned how much I hate OHP?

 

Pullups with 1-band assist, reverse grip: 4 

 

Boring but big OHP:

     35x10 for 5 sets

 

Pullups with 1-band assist, normal grip: 4 

 

Still dealing with elbow lock on the down portion of the pullups, so I wasn't able to extend completely down on each one. It's hit or miss. I'd guess my arm can get to about 15 degrees before it refuses to cooperate. Guess it's just something I'm going to have to deal with. Maybe as I get stronger it will be easier to control.

Shifted back to night shift last week. Been feeling pretty tired and somewhat under the weather the past few days and my diet has been awful. Tried to make up for it some today but couldn't get through all the BBB sets. Getting ready to go to work and all I want to do is go back to bed. Bleh.

BBB is optional, Big Wendler says this himself.  Sometimes you only feel like doing the big lift.  Looks like you merged two workouts into one which is a good way to make up for lost time, yet you still had it in you to do 4 sets of BBB!  Good days, bad days, good weeks, bad weeks- keep going.  Keep pushing and pulling. 

With great size comes great responsibility.

Had another couple of long night shifts with mandatory training making for 14-15 hour workdays, but I finally slept decent today and got about 8 hours total. 

 

Combined DL and Bench today since I didn't get DL in yesterday. Here's the end of week 3 in 5/3/1

I've been a little (a lot) preoccupied with other things the last 2 months and haven't been keeping up with my nerd posts so I feel like it's a little late to join the current 6-week challenge. Especially since I'm going out of town this week. So I think I'm just going to keep on doing the 5/3/1 program until Dec 22 then re-evaluate my old goals and make new ones for the next challenge.

Back from leave with no travel plans scheduled for the next 3-4 months, so time to get back in the saddle!

Was supposed to stop at 130 on squats but I had one of those days where nothing felt right and everything was uncomfortable, so I made my husband come outside and watch my form because it felt like my squats just weren't staying consistent. I felt off balance and awkward and uncoordinated, like it was my first time squatting. He made me go down to the bare bar and work on fundamentals for a while, which helped, but it was a frustrating lift day.

Again, a frustrating lift day. Feels like I'm going backwards. A week ago I did 62.5 for 5, and the week before that I did 60 for 6. WTH? That's why I added one more set at the end today because I was determined to do more. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate OHP? Grrrr... Bench felt good, even with being sore from pushups yesterday. I like the Wendler program because it spaces the big lifts out during the week, but I'm starting to wonder if it's doing me a disservice.
