WELCOME!

My name is TerosX and I'm about to start my 4th 6-week challenge.  All are welcome to join witht he RPG Fanatics.  Last group went great and I made some friends.

Quick about me: I'm in my late 20's and I'm trying to go to school to become a therapist.  I've looking into teaching as well.  I've always wanted to help people be the best person they can be.  I've had serious buots of depression for my entire life and I'm very socially awkward, but I'm not letting these things hold me back.  I'm part of an overweight family that uses food as a crutch for everything- whether it's celebration, mourning, stress, boredom... everyone in my family is overweight.  I was up to 360 pounds at one point but during these past few challenges I've dropped a few pants sizes (unsure of the actual #).

Share your thoughts, your goals, or ask any questions.  I'm more than happy to answer. :)

Alrighty we'll try this...

Going into my second challenge here and I'm pretty excited, although I was in an accident last night which is going to affect some of my goals I fear (I was sideswiped by a car and knocked off my bike).

I was a scrawny kid until I started genuinely working out and bulking in college. However, with college comes the age of 21 and with 21 comes... well, you know. So I fell off the wagon for 6 years and gained 30 pounds of fat. About three years ago I started having digestion and gastro-intestinal problems which I couldn't find a solution for. Not being a fan of doctors, I took the time to research diet and nutritional ideas and come across Primal/Paleo. I adopted this diet gradually back in February and now eat a 98% primal diet (I eat dairy). However, I wasn't able to find the time to workout regularly until a couple months ago when some things changed with my job. Since then I started doing a body weight workout, and about 2 weeks ago renewed my gym membership to start lifting.

My end goal is to cut down to just under 10% body fat. I started at 210 pounds in February and am back down to around 180 (official weigh-in tomorrow). I also plan to get more into outdoorsmanship. I used to train competitively for mountain biking and I went bouldering hiking and camping at least once a month in college. I plan to go hiking more before the cold New England winter hits, and I'm planning a multi-day backpacking trip in Maine for next Spring.

So for this challenge, I'm still on the burn body fat, eat primal, get stronger goal set!

Something unrelated to fitness about myself, I'm an aspiring horror writer, Lovecraftian style weird tales.

I want back in the Guild!!!

Ok, so my last Challenge was interrupted by the Army (which is typical). And although the Army is certainly not going to make it easy, at least the timeline I have now before my next life-upset fits nicely in with this next Challenge. So if you'll have me, I'll throw in my lot with y'all again: everyone last time was so wonderful and supportive, it would be an honor to be part of this Guild again.

Pretty please? With cherry.gif on top? :nevreness:

Hey Terosx! I'd like to join too :P

My goals are basically to get better. Ive done one challenge, but it was my 'level 0' challenge, and it kind of slowed down at the end (read - i gave up). well, hell-to-the-no! Im not bexoming a vegetable again!

Goals are simple - workout, dont eat bad, lose fat, and i have another goal of actually keeping my thread up to date :P

Check it out, its in my sig :D

Good luck!

There's plenty of room and WELCOME! If everyone could post a link to their thread this challenge- I'll edit my first post and put them all up.  It'll make it easier for everyone to keep track of and start following each other.

Ravnos- ah, I see.  ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagi fhtagn?

Evicious- hm.... I'll think about it..... YES!  Glad to see you back.

Tiggs86- Absolutely!

Jack Harlekin- Sad to hear you dropped, but what matters is that you pick yourself back up.  I had a slip up on week 5 of my last challenge which motivated me to start the Whole 30 program.  Glad to see you back.

Errah138- just check in on everyone and be your awesome self.  A few words of encouragement makes a big difference.  I'd make up squirrel personalities if there weren't so damn many of them.  My g/f thinks I'm the pied piper because I walked around the lake one day and I had a trail of 8 squirrels following me and they didn't follow ANYONE ELSE.

Lupus- great to have you here.  although it was metaphorical, I hope you make that armor and such(life goal- do it).  Maybe use it as a halloween costume this year.

Traabbit- Plenty of room!

Also, if you haven't already- just throw your name here:

Hi everyone! Super excited to join this team!

This is my second attempt at my second challenge. My second challenge was interrupted by summer time obligations, but I'm back in the game :D My thread is in my signature. Overall my goal is to lose weight (get to a size 12) and to get stronger. I'm a graduate student going for a Master's degree in Public health with four 8 week terms (yikes!) so I'm going to be pretty busy. But that's why I am so excited to have a team to stay motivated and to motivate you guys too. Looking forward to this challenge and getting to know you all! :D

I don't have my rpg character backstory figured out yet, but it is soon to come :D

Can't wait to get this next challenge stared :)

So I have been on a quest to lose more weight and get ready for my Spartan Sprint Race in December.  A year ago I was 376lbs.  My heaviest being 396lbs.  At the end of the last challenge I was down to 298.6lbs.  Ideally, I'd love to be close to 250lbs by December, but that means losing 4lbs a week.  If I can get close though I will be happy ;)  Currently setting sights on the 275lbs mark.

I was laid off my job in 2010.  I use to do Software QA testing at nvidia.  We found out my wife was pregnant with our second child, and my mother died of cancer that year.  It has worked out so that I have been a stay at home Dad since then.  Before when I was losing weight, I changed a few things in my diet, but never really my lifestyle.  This is my third challenge.  It's felt like I really got serious about losing weight then.

Sounds like we have a good support group started here, let's dominate this thing! :D
