What stretching are you guys doing. That is one piece that I need to add in.

when I do yoga it's a dvd that's 20min sessions (I can give you the name if you want it) otherwise post workout I do the Nerdfitness cooldown-works nicely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcFGLWapu1g&list=PLorwcGYQWpZFI1f6RJsrJ4gWKDriA2kh-&index=3

Sorry I'm late to post guys! Forgot to "follow" the group!  A bit about myself- 27yo female my first challenge ended with me competing in my first 5k obstacle course-Run For Your Lives, and I "died" (not real surprising statistically) anyways I lost a lot of weight and gained some muscle while training (was even able to do the monkey bars for the first time in my life!) that got me pumped for challenge 2 but hit many bumps in the road and dropped out. Now I'm back for redemption.

Workout-wise I run using the Zombies RUN! 5k app on a local bike trail and NF dumbbell division rank 1. Eventually I'd like to try out a "basic training" class my local Crossfit offers, but I have to wait until my schedule works with it (which may take a LONG time) so I can learn proper barbell technique (I've never used them and the personal trainer at my gym always seems to send everyone to the machines so I don't wanna waste my time or money).

This week I'm just working on my nutrition and crafting/housework goals as I somehow injured my shoulder last Thursday and can't really lift a gallon on milk or reach without protest let alone lift weights or pump my arms to run. I'm told it's healing with hope it'll be well enough to take on my 12hour night shifts this weekend come Friday.

Hope everyone is doing well thus far!

Had the nom noms and was tempted to get a Snicker's from my apartment vending machine. Got some grapes in my fridge instead! XD

Good on ya, minx34! It's the little changes that make the difference! :D

Hi Tiggs86! See, everyone keeps yammering on about this Zombies RUN app, and you all seem like you're having such good fun... I really may need to download and see what the fuss is all about! Sorry to hear about your shoulder; it can be so frustrating waiting to heal. In the end though you'll spend less time waiting if you give your body a proper chance to patch itself up, than it you push it before you're fully healed and make things worse than before! Maybe think of it as a chance to really focus on developing your core and lower body?  :)

Lupus - I added weight to my DL squats for work out 2 of NF Recruit work out for a total of 70 lbs. I am completely gassed.

I am going to have to eat more. Not sure how I can it seems like every time I am turning around I am going to look for something to eat.

Now to go cook breakfast

2 eggs 2 bacon, Protein shake and maybe some grapes.

See, add a bit of weight and you get pushed over that little ridge you have built in.  It'll take me a good week to find mine, but it would appear that, 15-20kg (around 40 pounds) will give me some sore bits. Shame i dont have any more weight plates, these'll have to do for now :P Also, wearing a 10kg backpack while working out really, REALLY increases the difficulty.

Did my part B today, and i gotta say, i like deadlifts... :D

Also - CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE! You have all just passed the first mini-challenge!

See http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/topic/37566-mini-quest-1-whats-a-hero-without-a-sidekick/ for details :D

Have an extra +1 CHA!

And another thing;

Should we set up a Fitocracy group?

Ive been reading it, its completely free and basically it gives you points for your workouts. Makes it a bit of a game, and pretty social. Would anyone be willing to regularly update their profile on there and give it a go?

If not, we could also set up Facebook.

I have a fitocracy account, but haven't used it too much! I have both though and would be up for either!

I'm onboard for the Fitocracy group! I signed up there awhile ago, but just recently logged back in and finished my profile. :P I'd definitely join an RPG Fanatics group on Fitocracy! :D

World of Dailycraft :D I used to raid, but I have managed to stray away from WoW... what class and server?

Use to play on Chromaggus.  That place was dead though.  We transferred our guild to Bleeding Hollow.  My main is a Orc Hunter Sito (Survival).  I also have a 90 Blood Elf Paladin, Enakai (Ret).  Leveled up a Pandaren Monk, Qinshii (Mistweave/Windwalker)  My Goblin Shaman, Tateman (Elemental/Restoration)  My newest 90 in my Undead Mage Preyna (Frost)

Yeah, I asked about WoW recently as well.  I tried out Emerald Dream.

A lot of times I wish my guild would be on a PvE server, but it is fun sometimes on PvP server too.  It's also be mostly better since moving to a high pop server vs being on the old low pop one.

fansdfaeasdlvj I can't stand WoW anymore. I played a Hunter from Vanilla to Pandaria and they've completely ruined the game for me...

Sorry, I recently convinced my girlfriend to quit playing as well, it's kind of a rant for me. Blizzard is worthless.

Seriously though, if you still get enjoyment out of the game awesome, it can be a lot of fun.

I played on... Chromaggus, Blackrock and like three other serves (my guild liked switching services for some reason). But mostly those two. (Horde)

Yup, I agree.  If you don't have fun, quit playing.  I use to play City of Heroes long past when my other friends went to wow and such just because I still had fun playing it.  It took me like 3 or 4 tries before I really got into WoW.

Yeah, I kinda lost interest in it and decided that I would rather spend 6+ hours of my week doing other things... maybe even OUTSIDE things ;)

That's why I bowl ;)  Get myself outside of the house more often.

I created RPG Fanatics on Fitocracy. and let me say it is pretty cool.  I added in my workouts since the start of the challenge and i went DING lvl 4. It is a public group may have to go private if we get random people.

I tried entering in my workouts today.  Didn't know what to put for these though

  • 10 hip extensions
  • 5 hip rotations each leg (like you’re stepping over a fence)
  • 10 forward leg swings (each leg)
  • 10 side leg swings (each leg)

I took parts of my warmup from the Dynamic warm up Steve posted http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/01/09/warm-up/

Also not sure how to add in my kettlebell stuff since I am following a video.

Yeah some stuff just isn't in there, especially stretching.

If I have time later I'll watch that video and see if I know what the kettle bell exercises are.
