BlamedCat
That would be a great idea and Id totally encourage it. Of course if you know anyone who works in rehab, they might be able to suggest some things. Actually, if you want, I'll hit up my mom or wife on this since they both work at/with a local hospital. We will see how it goes. Great job on Week 2, tateman! What is your battle strategy to get back on the A-game in regards to working out? Well, I think I really have confirmed that especially on bowling nights, I need to work out in the morning/afternoon. Monday I didn't workout since I just wasn't in the mood after bowling, and my kid went to bed late. I get my one day of not having a workout, but I need to try to save it for the weekend So overal I think before I get doing things int he morning, I should just get out and finish off the workout. Walking in the evening isn't usually a problem, so I can do that whenever. Good stuff Tateman! Glad things are still going well your end, glad you got back on your workout, it can be tough getting it done after a couple of days off but it sounds like definitely needed it! Laureleye
Hmm, well she has some co workers that are sort of into it. They were doing walking and things, but now my wife can't really do that much. Her knee has gotten really bad, and I think her left knee is bone on bone. They have been implementing new services at her work, so they have all been extremely swamped and stressed. It probably will be that way for the rest of the year. We will have a little time off when I do my spartan race in December. We are going to spend a few days down at Disneyland and stuff I've never done well eating a lot of meat, especially red meat. I used to only eat meat at either dinner or lunch because of this. Now I eat meat at both meals, but smaller portions and it seems to be better for my system and is actually more meat overall. So instead of 3 or 3.5 oz at 1 meal, I eat 2 - 2.5 oz twice. I still get a good bit of my protein thru greek style yogurt, nuts and nut butter. I hope she can find something to do around her knee issues. I have knee problems and its just no fun at all. Also nice to see the IF is working out. I love my IF, i have a break once a week every now and then, but it's really helped me with food regulation and viewing food more as nutrition. Have you found that you're now hungry when you're actually hungry and not just because you normally eat at those times of day?Well, I was eating sort of that way already. Close to it anyway. I still have 3 meals some days, they are just smaller. It really depends on how I feel. I do feel more now that I get eating when I am really hungry. Not just eat something at 8:30 in the morning because I got up, or eat close to noon because it's lunch time. If I eat properly, I usually don't feel hungry at night too. Just sometimes when a smell or something is around to make my brain want to switch on the feed me button. I came close to breaking it once, just because I ended up eating later then I wanted, and almost forgot to check it next morning. It's just hard for me to let myself feel ok about missing a day sometimes. Just have to remember how hard I am trying to push myself now vs a few months ago where I was doing nothing. Hey Tateman, you ever end up making mayo? I did and it turned out great. Almost out of it so I'm gonna experiment with garlic powder and possibly red pepper flakes.Nope, still haven't tried. I am tempted to give it a go though sice I can make a few things with it now. I did make the Whole 30 BBQ sauce from the book. It isn't bad. Had it on some chicken the other day that I roasted in the oven. Seemed like it was missing something still. I just have evoo at home, and I hear that is too strong to make mayo with, so I might need to go get some tasting olive oil for the mayo. Hey Tateman- dropping by to see how you are doing. Tateman
Ok, yesterday i had a good time. I did give in and eat some not so great food though. Before the hockey game, they had a street rally going on. Lots of give-a-way stuff if you wanted to stand in like for them. We didn't They had a couple of half pipe type ramps setup. There were guys doing tricks there. IMG_3322a by Will Tate, on Flickr The Sharks firetruck was out tooIMG_3315a by Will Tate, on Flickr One of the Sharks Zamboni was out there as well. I have other pictures in my Flickr feed. Went inside and took a pic of my and Nolan IMG_20131003_183146 by Will Tate, on Flickr So for food I figured I would have a Sausage link. It came with grilled onions and peppers. It had a bun which I ate some of as well. Also had some onion rings with my wife. I had about 5. I also another sausage link with no bun or anything since my wife ate a hot dog that my son didn't want. Overall, I wasn't impressed. I actually couldn't finishing eating all of the one bun. I just ate the veggie part and sauerkraut I got on it. It felt liek it filled me up pretty quick. The onion rings we ok, but not great. It made me more upset to waste a cheat type meal on that quality of food. Next time, I'll just go hunger if I don't eat before. (Which I will make sure I eat before an outing like that) I'd normally try to take a few picture of the hockey players and such, but they said I couldn't brign in my camera since it had a detachable lens. I've only brought it with my like 10 or more times to other games. Ohh well. The doctor's appointment went well. She ended up giving me another medication to take, though this one is purely to try to help protect my eyes and kidneys from being diabetic. Also a very low dosage. She gave me the smallest dose available, and I need to cut the pill in have to have an even smaller dose. She was saying maybe after my next bloodwork tests, we might reduce my other medication. I guess it all depends on how healthy I can be by then too. I'd love to have her say we need to start cutting me back on it asap i told her all about how I have been doing things here with everyone at nerdfitness. Also eating Whole 30 style and such. She said she wished that I could speak to other patients about my success so far. She thought I could be a huge inspiration to others in a similar situation vs just a doctor telling someone to lose weight or change their diet. She was thinking of trying to submit a proposal of some kind. She wanted to know if I wanted to be a part of it. I said maybe. I was never good at being a public speaker type person or anything. We'll see how it pans out. So since the appointment was so early, I didn't get in my workout yet. Tonight, I just have to make myself get it done. Tateland.com, Instagram, Fitbit Link to comment
