You can join assassins with me...I hear they have chocolate covered bacon :)  As for themes, well....I have cliffs, forests and raging sea monsters coming my way.  Also, had a strange thought to base my next, next challenge on Final Fantasy 3 (aka 6) characters and their key scenes.  Because why not?

OMG!  you are like, one of the only other people I know, that refers to FF3 that way!  I do it too.   I say, "FF3 (which was actually 6) was my favorite!   Best story ever.   Just didn't have the benefit of the next gen consoles for graphics like 7 did."   (which is my second favorite FF game.  Followed by 9, because it made me cry.)

 

I'd be way way interested to see how that theme works out!

 

Oh.  And I decided I have to stay rangers, because I ended up joining Blast fitness last night, (it was super cheap) and I was able to work out with barbells!!! It was fun!   And I felt so bad ass hanging out in the free weights, and using a real squat rack and not the smith machine and and and ... I think I will have more support for that type of activity in rangers.

Fair enough :) a friend of mine found a super cheap gym and adores it.  I just wish my gym was closer, but I can't seem to motivate myself to go out of my way to get there (our work gives you a discount at that particular gym, so it ends up costing me only $15/month), which is why I love body weight workouts.

yeah, I was originally just looking for someplace that I could do some pull up thingies from... which still involved joining a gym.   Once there I was like 'why not make use of the stuff here?'

 

I hear ya on the going out of the way for a gym though.  The one I joined is maybe a mile west of where I live, and I work north of both places.  So I just have to come home a route that makes it feel like a wide loop that PASSES the gym lol.

there is a two week break, but try not to get to lax with all of the great new habits you've developed! 

it's okay to relax, have a snack or two, chill out, etc. Just keep your head in the game. these small baby steps will become great giant steps on your mission quest.

Rangers, rangers, rangers!

 

I'm bored.

 

And I hear we've got another 2 week break!?   Wth!  I was assured they did that only once to make sure that a new challenge could start on Jan 1st.  LIES!   BETRAYAL!  ANGER!  DARKSIDE!  COOKIES.

 

Yes... that is exactly how it goes.

 

Talk to me!   What themes are you guys churning up?   Should I stick here in Rangers or go Assassins next challenge because I am theming my challenge after Assassins Creed.  I dunno!?  

 

Also - I might be joining a gym?   Just because stupid winter weather is stupid.     Blast Fitness is simple, no thrills, nothing fancy place - but when I checked it out, there were plenty of machines open for use and the people didn't look like beefcakes out to pick up womenz.    And it's just $10 a month. 

 

Should I?  And if I do, then I should definitely stay Rangers, as I can add in some actual barbell lifts and stuff.

I do bb training - and I'm a ranger.

I don't see why you can't do both.  That's what being a ranger is all about. But if you want to switch to pure strength Warriors would DEFINITELY take you ;)

 

 

I'm starting bulk unoffically today- it's halloween- I've had 5 mini butterfingers already.  Screw the world!!! MAUH HA HA HA HA

 

Excited about bulking- and a new place to live!! WOOT WOOT

Ok.  There.  Better now.   I am taking just a one week break - and man I totally honeybadgered my eating lately.  But I am hiking lots next week on vacation, and plan on eating all healthy yums and stuff.

I like the two week break. It coincides with the breaks I want to take from lifting. 6 weeks on 2 weeks off.

But I totally understand why it would bug you, if I didn't have that schedule, it would bug me too.

 

And I-Jo, I've been calling it "bulking" instead of "binging" as well. I don't think it is helping ;)

So, my next challenge involves a cliff side and I'm trying to decide if I need to do a certain number of workouts to top it, or if each exercise set is worth a certain distance and I need to complete "x" distance to get out.  On the one hand, having storyline progress based on number of workouts reinforces consistency and avoid me getting bored as I did with my cave challenge, but having it based on a distance should encourage trying harder at each workout.  Thoughts or suggestions?

I train as a ranger, but I frequent the assassin and monks thread, doing their challenges as it suits me. What's our class motto," jack of all trades, master of none', right?  Being fit is about functionality; so to be able to handle anything, practice everything. You have to declare a class for the challenges, but you can train however you want.

$10 per month is not bad, head inside for winter weather; it will be extra spacious in the gym as others use winter to hibernate. ;)

This challenge I was still in summer mode while I had school to contend with. Now I know to scale back my challenges a bit and I'm quite confident in my ability to roll with the punches. Realistic was not a SMART goal objective I kept in mind.

 

 

Super excited about tomorrow, I'm doing my practical for my Fitness Instructor Specialist certification. Nervous but I know that I can ace this, I'm doing a step/bootcamp style class and looking forward to it. Plus I have a callback for a job I'm interested in and my birthday on Wednesday! Good things come in threes :-)
