BlueKiwi Gets Leaner, Stronger, & More Focused in Slaying Her Procrastination Dragon

Main Quest:  Get Leaner, Stronger, and More Focused.

I want to be able to do & hold this position for a few sec:     L-Seat_edited-300x300_0.jpg

Goal 1:  Put the Focus on Macros

Track macros daily -

Carb:  Eat Less than 100 grams

Protein:  Eat Between 80-125 grams

Fat:  Eat Less than 65 grams

* Grading:  A. Eat 5+ days/wk on target; B. 4 days;  C. 3 days; D. 2 days; F.  Only 1 day in a week on target.

Goal 2:  Clean Fuel for Clearer Mind

Eat clean with less than 15% of daily calories come from processed food and keep a food diary of what I eat.

* Grading:  A. 5+ days/wk met requirement; B. 4 days;  C. 3 days; D. 2 days; F.  Only 1 day in a week met requirement.

Goal 3:  Lift Heavy Things with a Zen Attitude

Do meditation in the morning for at least 5 minutes daily and keep better/more accurate records of the weights & reps lifted so I can keep getting stronger.

* Grading:  A. 5+ days/wk & 4 WL days recorded; B. 4 days/3 days recorded; C. 3 days/2 days recorded; D. 2 days/1 day recorded; F. Nothing.

Side Quest:  Record Fat Loss Progress Using Tape Measurements

The Scale Lies.  Yes, we all know it is a fact.  If I complete each goal above correctly, I should see some fat loss.  So to better track it, I will include the tape measurements for more data points.  I will take measurements (i.e. neck, waist, hip, thighs, and calves) on Mondays of Weeks 1, 4, and 6.

Life Quest:  Slaying the Procrastination Dragon!

Yes, that dragon.  Breathing down my neck again!  So I say, "No More Procrastination!  I Will Be a Productivity Ninja & Kick Procrastination in the Face!"

From my last challenge, I realized that I was/am procrastinating way too much on my dissertation writing (& life, too).  Although, I worked on it everyday, I wasn't using my time effectively and I need to get a handle on this quickly.  I decided I need to work out a plan and follow through with it.  It helped last time, but fell apart toward the end when I didn’t get timely feedback from my profs.  Taking that part out of the equation and keep bulldozing through this, here is my plan of attack:

Dates for dissertation proposal progress

Week 1:  9.16 – 9.22        ---       Submit completed draft of proposal to co-chairs for feedback

Week 2:  9.23 – 9.29        ---       Discuss tentative dates for proposal defense; revise proposal

Week 3:  9.30 – 10.6        ---       Submit revised chapters 1, 2, & 3 to co-chairs

Week 4:  10.7 – 10.13      ---       Submit revised dissertation proposal to full committee for feedback

Week 5:  10.14 – 10.20   ---        Set proposal defense date for November

Week 6:  10.21 – 10.27   ---        Finalize dissertation proposal based on committee feedback

                                                Get proposal presentation ready for defense

I will also put together a to-do list every day and make sure it is completed before the end of the day.  To do that I need to do the following thing:

  • Write to-do list the night before.
  • Schedule time for each task listed with more difficult/challenging/time consuming ones first.
  • Block distractions during the scheduled work time.
  • Stop saying "I have all day to do that" and start saying "I will get this done now"

Motivation:  I need to move on with my life and be happy.  No more excuses for putting things off and feeling guilty about taking off for holidays.  I am tired of coming up with excuses and complaining about why things don’t work the way they should.  So it is time to take charge of my life and get things done!  And this:

I like avoiding the scale.  How clothes fit is a better indicator since, yes, the scale lies.  That position looks near-impossible.  You going for this one afterwards?

:lol:  I think the L-Seat is gonna take me a bit to achieve.  After this one, probably the Crane Pose in Yoga. And, yes.  How clothes fit is much better indicator.  Rawr!

Good luck to you with your goals and stuff!
