fauve's first challenge

Recommended Posts

Main Quest

  • To have the weight stated on my driver’s license be the truth (which is the maximum I should be for my height).  This means I will need to lose 10 lbs.

Missions/goals:

  • I will maintain a daily food log so that I don’t eat too many calories.
  • I will exercise for at least 30 minutes every day.
  • I will limit my alcohol consumption to once a week.

Life Quest

  • Record and follow the spending & saving budget I’ve been procrastinating on for months.

Motivation

  • I’ve come too far to quit now.

Hey there :)

Your screenname caught my attention because I have a friend-of-a-friend whose name is Fauve. Anyway... ;)

Welcome and good luck with your first challenge!

Have you decided yet what kind of exercise you'll be aiming for? I think 30 minutes of movement daily is a very good goal, but do make sure you don't go all out every day only to end up hurting yourself. Slow and steady mixed up with some intense workouts seems the way to go! And remember to (try) to have fun!

Elves are cool btw!

Thanks!

I've been alternating my days; weight training one and cardio the next.  I stick to the 30 minutes daily because of my personality. I know that a) if I don't do something every day I won't do it at all and B) if I don't set a reasonable time limit, I'll go to the other extreme and try to exercise 5 hours a day.

Elves rule!  lol

haha! I remember watching him on TV and thinking I had a chance with him because there were no girls on the Enterprise.

He goes to all sorts of conventions and such like Comicon. There is a real chance you could meet him some day! (Good idea for a quest, defiantly worth enough XP to level up)

You should share a picture of a sexy outfit you want to get into.

I do have a little black dress I want to get back in to. I have had it hanging on my bedroom door as inspiration.  I wore it when my husband took me out for our first anniversary.  Our seventh anniversary is Oct. 21 and it would be nice to wear it again.  I can 'wear' it now, but it doesn't quite 'fit', kwim?  So I think it's totally achievable by next month.

Day 3:

Yoga = 30 minutes

TaeBo = 45 minutes

Budget and food logs both up to date

Well done on all the exercise! I still need to get motivated to do something today and decide on what to actually do ;)

Any plans yet for your anniversary? Would be awesome if your dress fits like you want it to fit by then ^^

Thanks!  It just makes me feel good for the whole day.  Did you end up finding your motivation?

No plans for the anniversary yet. We usually just wing it and it turns out more fun that way.  lol

Awwww pizza in the park sounds sweet.     We'd probably freeze our butts off next month though, lol.

I'm trying to sweet-talk him into taking me to Las Vegas (where we got married) but I doubt that's going to happen.   < fingers crossed >

That's some excellent dedication to your food logs! I have such a hard time with them, so i'm really impressed by you!

Do you do your exercise over the day or all at once? morning, afternoon or evening? Do you have a video you follow, or just have some set reps you do?

A cold beer is probably not that bad in calories, Budweiser has a low calorie version. not sure what it tastes like, but it might be something to look into. You should never deny your self the things you love, just find a low cal option, or only have a small portion. Split the beer with the hubby!

Thanks!   The food logging is something I've had to train myself to do because I've always hated it.  BUT I know I can't do it without it.  If I try to do it in my head, I always under estimate how much I've eaten and over estimate how many calories I've burned.  The numbers staring me in the face is hard to ignore.

I tend to exercise in the morning because the later in the day I put it off, the less chance I have of doing it.   While my times vary depending on life, my goal is to have it done by lunch time so that gives me a good 6 hours of flexibility.

I do both but I tend towards following videos because it's nice having someone 'push' me along so I don't forget any certain areas or muscle groups.

My problem with beer is that I'm a snob. lol   And I prefer 'heavier' beers like stouts and porters which can be in the 300-400 calorie range...a meal in itself.   So it's really best I avoid them as much as possible.
