Wow, so glad you are starting to voice your concerns & thoughts and stand up for yourself! Picture us as your ghostly army (a la lord of the rings 3rd movie!) Willing you on and supporting you all the way! (Although obviously we don't ask to be released like in the film, we're here by choice ;) )

Sounds like you are making great strides, so congratulations on that!

Also on saying goodbye to the 300s and hello to the 200s - yay!

Hi all!  I'm finally back :)  Things haven't been bad, just super busy, and a bit stressful.  My work changed a bit, so I have new students that are very demanding, and my volunteering has changed a bit in that I haven't been able to get my supposed co-leader to shoulder any of the responsibility yet.  She has missed 5/6 weeks so far.  I'm supposed to meet with her this week to discuss it (oh, more confrontation?  Please.  I love confrontation.....not.)  I will be starting my new challenge next week, once some of this stuff is dealt with, because I can't add anything to my plate right now.

 

However, for wrap up purposes:

 


1)      Walk to work.    I will be parking half a block farther from work each week, gradually building to the full distance. This will be graded on days done/days able.  There will be no penalty for missed days due to listening to my body, or due to illness, only for “I don’t wannaâ€s. +1.5 STA +1 CON A

 

 

This goal went very well.  I loved how calming it was to take a few minutes each morning to decompress on the way to and from work.  Adding just half a block a week worked well for me.  Overall I walked [14/14] times!  The sad part is with the snow on the ground now it's impossible to continue, but I'll have to see what I can do to modify it for the next few months.

 

2)      Do one no-holds-barred bodyweight workout per week, picking one from each category (from last challenge). This will be graded on days done/days able.  There will be no penalty for missed days due to listening to my body, or due to illness, only for “I don’t wannaâ€s.  +5 STR  A

 

This was a great goal, and one of my favourites, but having the workout planned on the weekend meant that I only got in 1, because there was always something else physical happening.  Real life fitness is important too, and so is listening to my body, so I did the right thing, but I MISS doing actual workouts.  Another time I would plan the workout for mid-week and then decide whether or not I was up to the additional challenge on the weekend of whatever life fitness was available.

 

3)      Eat my macros.  Ketosis, here I come (hopefully)!  In order to fuel my body better and still lose weight, I need to be more conscious of my macros.  5 steps involved in this one: +2.5 CON   A

  • Track
  • Focus on the Protien (150g)
  • Focus on the Fat (100g )
  • Focus on the Fibre (30g)
  • Focus on the added sugar (get rid of it)

This goal was amazing, and it only took a few days of it to start feeling better.  I never did manage to get to the Fibre requirements; life intruded before then.  But I did track, and focus on the protein and fat, which for me seem to be the most important of all. 

 

Life Quest: Confident A+

 practice saying the responses into a mirror or imagining a senario where one would necessary and then saying it out loud.  Each 25 times I do this is worth +.5 CHA (to a max of 5 CHA)

 

As written, this goal didn't happen at all.  What did happen, however, was me practicing standing up for myself and actually doing it.  Four.  Times.  I know, crazy, right?  I stood up to my co-worker and told him to keep his hands to myself.  I stood up to my ex and explained why I wasn't okay with the travel they were proposing.  I stood up for myself with my immediate supervisor and was able to explain why I felt what I was doing was valuable to the student, even if she didn't agree.  I also stood up for myself when my ex was trying to steamroll me into agreeing.  So although as written = F, in reality it is an A+, because it provided the kick in the pants I needed to really look after me in social situations.

 

Side Quest: Courageous (part deux), [from last challenge] DONE! 

I still have 2 makeup techniques to practice 4 times each in order to earn that NF t-shirt.  I’m going to finish that up this challenge! +an NF t-shirt (self awarded)

 I am enjoying my NF t-shirt thoroughly.  It is very soft and comfortable and worth all the practice it cost me :)
