So I joined the last challenge a little late, BUT I completed like a day over the last 3 weeks, so I'm level 1 baby! But I still need to do a full 6 weeks to find my way to level 2, so I figured I should post in this forum (as those who do the first 3 weeks of their first challenge do - it all works the same right?)

 

Anyway.

 

My main mission (same as last time): Goal weight 137lb by Christmas

 

How am I going to get there?

  • Be active 3x a week (including both cardio and strength training)
  • Stop eating bread 
  • Don't buy sweets/biscuits/cakes

and my life side quest; DON'T PANIC.

 

My 3 goals are the same as last challenge, except the bottom one, because for my last challenge I totally succeeded beyond my wildest dreams my third goal of eating a portion of fruit/veg with every meal and that is definitely not a habit.

 

And my life side quest is something that needs a little explaining. I go back to university in a week, my final year of my MPharm degree. I have just under 9 months to be awesome, and to manage to pass this degree, to become a pharmacist. I have my job all lined up. Also, I've just booked my wedding, and we're in the process of looking for a house. I'm the sort of person that makes themselves really ill when stressed, and I stress myself out a lot. So for these next six weeks, my 5 first weeks back at university, I need to NOT PANIC, I need to breathe, and be cool, and just enjoy my final year, because I'm never going to be here again.

 

My motivation....my wedding :) I want to get in shape, stay in shape, and look damn fine in my wedding dress (at 12pm on the 10th October 2015 :D)

Day 1 down, and I have had fruit/veg with every meal, and have already exercised twice!

I'm going shopping today, however, this is shopping for my parents, so I'm buying biscuits/cakes....not good, but I promise I won't eat them! When I do my own shopping on Monday when I'm back at uni I'll be much better :)

Gym again today after a couple of hours at work, using the ViPR's (full run down in my battle log). so that's already 3 times this week, and I'm totally going tomorrow, and hopefully Friday too! Then I'll be back at uni and I plan on going to the gym there every day. And even if I don't go to the gym, I'll be walking to uni, so that's a 20 minute walk right there :D

 

I will get my dietbet money back!!

That sounds great!  I've started eating veggies with every meal for one reason--I like to eat, and I like to feel full (Okay, two reasons).  The great thing about veggies is you can eat a ridiculous amount of them and still stay under 200 calories.  For example, for lunch I'll probably have a skinless, boneless chicken breast, a can of french style green beans, and a can of sliced carrots.  That is a LOT of food.  Depending on the size of the chicken breast, I'm looking at a 300 calorie lunch, probably less.  It's all about getting the most out of what you eat!

I know! My lunches atm are BIG salads, but they're only 200 calories; baby spinach, figs, bacon(!! I love it when bacon is diet food!!), avocado, mushrooms and homemade vinaigrette. So tasty, and yet so healthy too!

Wow, you have a really exciting year coming up! Those are major life events... graduating Uni, a new job, marriage and a new house!  I just wanted to wish you good luck; it looks like you're off to a great start! 

 Thank you so much :D yeah, right now I feel like I have a TON going on, but hopefully it'll settle down soon, back to the monotony of uni life haha.

Wow you have so much going on but they are all so exciting! I also stress myself out but you just have to keep reminding yourself that the reason for your stress is all positive. Graduating, getting married, moving into a new home, and having a job are all positive things! Take everything one day at a time, even one step at a time if needed, and your stress will calm down  :peaceful: I used to have a bad anxiety problem when I was younger about school and sports and work (didn't help that I'm also a procrastinator!) but one day my dad had me break all of the things I had to do for the week into little sections so I would only be focusing on one thing for a small amount of time and then once that time was up I would just move on to the next one. This mainly helped me study for school but I feel like it can help with any life decisions as well! :playful:  "Don't dwell on the past" and "One step at a time" are the mantras that help me get through a stressful day  :redface-new:

 

I don't think you will have any trouble reaching your goals! :joyous:

My first day back at uni today, though these first two weeks are just ridiculous. I'm in 7 hours this week and not at all next week!! So I spent an hour and a half at the gym (full run down in my battle log) and went shopping.

 

£94 I spent, jesus I'm glad I've got my student loan. But! It's totally almost paleo. I don't know if cous cous counts, and I know pasta doesn't....or cheese, but I can't give up cheese!! It's just too hard xD.

 

So far I've still been having fruit or veg with every meal, and I have yet to eat bread (aside from the naan I had with my Indian takeaway last night xD) so we're going well so far :)

I've lost like 4lb this week. I think it's because I'm not eating as much. I'm....not depressed, but I'm not happy. I'm living with friends, but I feel like I hardly see them. and I really miss my parents and my fiance. I've just spent a weekend with him, and have cried for like 30 minutes after he left. I'm a mess, and I need to sort my life out!

 

I've been eating well though, when I have been eating. Porridge for brekkie, salads or pancakes for lunch and I've been having some really yummy evening meals. I am now only 1lb away from winning my dietbet, which is pretty sweet :).

 

This week, I've exercised 3 times, have not eating any bread but I have bought sweets...well actually it was cakes, and it's because at uni we had a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning (we raised 209£!) so that's why. But I hardly ate any! Promise. Also, my life quest; so far I've been keeping calm, even though I have 2 assignments to do already plus I need to sort out my dissertation and sign the contract for my job for next year and try to organise a time when I can get a course of Hepatitis B immunisations *sigh*. But I'm not panicking...yet.

So this week I bought some of those Warburton's wholewheat thins and have been having them for lunch the last two days. They're so yummy, and yes it means I've eaten bread twice this week, but I can't regret it!

 

I've been to the gym twice this week AND I went out last night. Oh my word! I ache. Dancing from 7pm till 2am has killed me. And I didn't drink much alcohol, so I've tried to be good :).

 

Oh! I won my dietbet!! Not sure how much money I'll be getting back yet, but it's so nice to have one less thing to think about :D

2 years tomorrow I'll be a married woman :D This has prompted me to kick myself in the bum and to make some major changes

 

This last week...and a bit, I've been so lacidasical with my whole outlook to weight loss, and the feeling I had...8 weeks ago now, when I first found this site has just about vanished. The nights are drawing in, all I want to do is drink wine and snuggle up with my laptop. My inspiration for writing has come back, which is nice, and I have so many assignments to be doing at uni that I'm just snowed under with so much else that worrying about food and exercise seems trivial.

 

But it's not!

 

This week I've actually done not too bad. I've exercised twice now, and still haven't bought any crisps or chocolate or sweets. I'm buying fruit snack pots and little sticks of cheese instead, and only allowing myself one piece of cheese a day (oh it;s hard!) However, I have been eating bread. These wholewheat thin things. They're super yummy and only have 75 calories for one thing of them, which is much better than two slices of white bread, right?

 

I'm hopefully going to the market on Saturday, so I'll be buying some more fruit and veg, so hopefully, hopefully, everything will be good :)

I haven't been to the gym yet this week, which isn't good. The problem is it's so cold, and I'm unhappy, which equates to me just wanting to lie in bed all the time I'm not at university. I need to give myself a swift kick up the arse and sort myself out. I'm going to go tomorrow hopefully :)

 

I've not been eating sweets, but I did get myself some cakes. I also invested in some jelly! Because I figure that since fruit seems to last all of two days in my kitchen, jelly is the next best thing :)

So I went to the gym twice! Thursday and Friday and then I went for a 2 mile walk with my dad Saturday ngiht. So that's 3 days exercise! Yaaaaaay.

 

My life goal of not panicking is....well it's not going too well. I'm in a constant state of panic/stress and it's affecting my physical wellbeing as well as emotional. My stomach has been cramping like mad lately and since I haven't changed my dietary habits, and I'm still being active, I'd say it's due to stress. I'm just...I don't know. University just makes me emotional and to be honest I can't wait for it to be over.

Oh my word how is it that tomorrow is the last day of the challenge?!

As I'm not sure when I'll be getting online tomorrow I'm going to do a quick run down of how I did each week with each challenge, giving myself a score from 1-5. 1 being bad, 5 being good :D

Week 1: 5, 5, 5

Week 2: 5, 4, 5

Week 3: 3, 3, 3

Week 4: 1, 2, 3

Week 5: 4, 1, 2

Week 6: 5, 1, 3

 

Very sporadic....not very good. I've managed to pick my exercise back up, but not eating bread is difficult when I live in a freezing cold house!! I have been buying crisps, these wheat thin things, so they're not potato crisps, but they're still not the best thing for me. Plus I've been getting these jelly pot things which are just super yummy!

 

Next challenge I'm going for something different. And I think it's going to be more life quest orientated to be honest, simply because right now, I'm a mess.

So my challenges for these 6 weeks were:

  • Be active 3x a week
  • Stop eating bread
  • Don't buy sweets/crisps etc

I did pretty good on the first week, and even the second week wasn't too bad. But the stop eating bread thing just went completely down hill after that. 

 

Overall I will give myself:

  • Be active 3x a week --- B
  • Stop eating bread --- D
  • Don't buy sweets/crisps etc --- C

Not good. My final goal was my life quest, which was DON'T PANIC (in big friendly writing). However, I didn't manage. These last two weeks have been just....panic inducing. So for that I will myself a C.

 

Now, as for GCSE and A level education here in the UK, anything C and above is a pass! Therefore I'm going to give myself 3 extra stat points (I completed 3 weeks of a previous challenge) but I can't give myself one for the stop eating bread, because I didn't accomplish it at all.
