I'm easily stressed, anxious, nervous. I have recently spent days in my flat, turning around doing nothing just because I was stressed up to panic because of some stuff I had to do. That's not fine at all. So, I want to be stress-free. Goal #1: determine the source of stressGoal #2: Find why it's stressing meGoal #3: find a way to avoid it/ destroy itGoal #4: Profit? And they apparently needs to destroy the walls, the floor or maybe the whole building. Stress level because of the noise: HighStress level because I can't work like this: Very high - Upstairs neighbor Chihuaha rat whining and scratching the doorStress level because of the noise: Really high Solution #1: Kill the rat and feed it to the person who is destroying the buildingSolution #2: Make a can of tea, go analog and take some pen and paper to work and leave the flat to work at my bouldering gym because they have food, beer, good sofa and boulders. Or solution #3: aka solution #2 + getting rid of the rat. I'm pretty sure it's whining because it's nature heresy and it knows it! He just want to die a decent death instead of a life of suffering! ... What? Ok.. ok... Rat will claw its way out of the door because it's so entranced by your fluteStep 3: Well s**t, now the rat is following you! Lead it to the forest or somewhere elseStep 4: Do lots of detours to confuse it so it won't find its way back. Stop at a bookshop on the way, get a copy of the first Harry Potter book. If you don't knowthen you can get a cassette player and an empty cassette - record your fluting (sp?) on the way to the forest.Step 5: Enchant your flute (I'm sure the spell is in the book somewhere!) or set up your cassette player - rat will stay where the music isStep 6: Return home, don't open up the door if the neighbour knocks to ask where on earth that hole in their door came from and where her rat is. I mainly deal with it by ignoring the source, which makes me feel like it's gone away but really just leaves me unprepared and floundering when it actually comes around and I have no choice but to deal with it, so good on ya for figuring out healthy ways to deal. Nuala Posted September 16, 2013 Author Report Share Posted September 16, 2013 Ear plugs don't work against a jackhammer, nor against the children that takes 5 minutes to climb the stairs while yelling "YAY" on each steps. ^^' It may be effective against the chihuahua rat though. Moving my non-existent office may be an option, after all my office consist into my laptop. Technically, that's what I did today, I went to the bouldering gym at 11h30, worked without stopping (well except for a short tea break) until 2h30pm and then went to relax by climbing a few blocs. "few" being climbing for 2 hours and trying for the first time some V4! My hands are dead, I have a new blister under a old blister but heh, it was a good day anyway. I will do that again tomorrow to escape the noise Obax, Nymeria, you are so welcome to visit! We will sit on the sofa and drink all the beer! They seriously have a nice choice. Too bad they don't have any paleo/primal food there. Except delicatessen plates. Yum! Actual stress level: average. Actually high. My mother just told me that they had to put down one of our dog. She had a bladder cancer and at 13 years old, couldn't be treated. On one hand, it would quell that little voice that tells me not to make big, dynamic moves when I'm 10 feet off of the ground, and I'd probably be able to solve more routes. On the other hand, taking a lot of big falls wouldn't be great, either. Level 30? who the hell knows anymore? It's like solving a puzzle with your own body, you need strenght, technique, dexterity and the feeling when you finally solve a difficult problem! It's pure Ecstasy! I won't deny that looking at other people climbing is quite the eye candy too.
