JessFit
Damn girl! You rocked that! Well done on getting back up to body weight. I have not started doing deadlifts yet because my trainer has not started me on them. I think next challenge I will start them, I would like to see if I can deadlift my body weight. I'm sure it won't be easy! Your legs have to be amazing to do the squats and dead lift together! Keep it up!OMG you just made my day! HP FTW <3 Deadlifts aren't bad, actually, and it's surprising how fast you can progress on them. They're simpler than people think they are, so yeah, learn them! They're one of my favorite lifts. And yeah, people keep telling me that a deadlift should be a higher number than a squat but for now I'm pretty even, I grew up training to be a dancer and debated going pro and so I've got a very disproportionate amount of lower vs upper body muscle. You can get to deadlifting body weight, I'm sure you can! When I starting lifting my body weight was 20 pounds lower than it is now, so all the sudden that goal became harder to attain. For people working out to lose weight the goal gets easier as you go because as the weights on the bar go up the weight on the scale comes down. Previously my best squat number was 145 (I've only really been lifting since April and I took most of August off) so that's my next squat mini-goal and then, to infinity and beyond! JessFit
Ok, could someone please explain to me how we're almost done with week 2 of the challenge already? Got in a run last night! Woohoo! I started week 3 of C25K which involved 90 seconds of running, 2 minutes of wakling, 3 minutes of running, 3 minutes of walking, 90 seconds of running, and 2 minutes of walking, 3 minutes of running, 3 minutes of walking. And of course 5 minute warm up and cool down. And yes, I am that person who cannot even run for 3 straight minutes. Anyway this was for sure easier than I had feared. I didn't get the full 3 minutes in either time but I was very close. Since I don't really like running I end up having a harder time with mind over matter mid-run and I think I give in more easily. However I really did push for the first 3 minute block yesterday and was very close to making it. I have 2 more runs with these intervals before it gets stepped up and I'm kind of excited because I actually think that I can do this! I made mini-pizzas for mom and I last night. This is great because then I can put all sorts of veggies and/or meat on mine and she can just put cheese wiz (no joke people) on hers and we can have dinner "together" but I don't have to choke down something that is so unhealthy I don't even want to look at it. SECOND AT HOME DINNER DOWN! Tonight is Zumba with gram and this sweet older lawyer that I work for. I'm so excited I've got them going, they both need to get out and be less sedentary so I'm ok that I'm missing a lift for this. Plus my gram is just so cute in her little spandex shorts shaking her bum to zumba routines. And *keeping fingers crossed* I can get into work a little late tomorrow which should mean time for a lift in the morning! Which was unexpected but I'm so excited. If I can get up early and go for a run near the hotel on Saturday then I will actually hit all my goals in what seemed to be an overwhelming and impossible week. I hope everyone elses week is looking to end on a similar high note. Thanks for all the support you guys threw out there when I was looking at getting in fewer than half my goals this week. You all rock! Warrior, Ravenclaw, book lover, history nerd, Red Sonja wannabe Current Challenge Battle Log Link to comment

You all rock! You are doing awesome! What's your pace for the c25k? Maybe try to slow it down a little more and really concentrate on your breathing. My breathing is ALWAYS a problem for me. I read that the breathing is just as important as your running technique. I am with you on not liking to run! It just seems so upsetting LoL....Like it hurts and I can't breath....but when I'm done I feel pretty good...not as great as some people claim they feel but I feel pretty good. Your Grandma doing zumba is AWESOME...There is always a zumba class going on during my Wednesday training and they really shake their asses in there! Yep, "Cardio, cardio, cardio," -- and that's not just Zombieland, that's any sort of SHTF scenario. They are like a warm cloth hug that you can wrap around your body, but whatever makes you happy. Great job this week. Remember us this weekend. That will help you keep on track! Batwoman... AWAY!Let me rephrase, I LOVE sweats, anywhere but the gym. I wear them into the gym with shorts or leggings under and then put them back on to leave the gym. But I have 20+ years of dance training in my 25 year long life and you do not dance in anything that is baggy or hides your lines. So in my head I can't workout in sweats, it is totally psychological but I have a much harder workout when I wear sweats. That being said, if I could wear sweatpants every other place in my life I would be a much happier person. and I love the phrase "warm cloth hug" because it really is so perfect!
