CourtnieMarie Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 Slept in this morning! whoops. I'll be working out Tues, Wed, Thurs this week instead of the usual MWF. Also, might try to get in a mile or two running on Thursday morning. I also would like to get in at least two foam rolling sessions this week. these are likely to happen after dinner while watching tv. Just have to actually DO it. Speaking of TV… we just finished S2 of Sherlock. What the – whaaaaat?! I love this show and totally empathize now with the squealing excitement of B.Cumberpatch. It may have been the reason that I finally agreed to watch Star Trek Into Darkness as well. Which I didn’t love. The actors were mostly great and the special effects looked awesome. The writing and character interactions seemed pretty low quality to me though. Anywayyyyy – let’s return from this tangent – Slow cooked 5lbs of chicken breast yesterday with some fajita type seasonings. Then ended up ordering a GF pizza for dinner anyway with some chicken wings. Will do something with the shredded chicken for dinner tonight and I already have some portions lined up with rice for lunches this week. So that there is the plan for the week! I should also add in that I won’t eat candy from work on Tues or Thurs. gotta try to make a bit of a dent in reversing that habit. Anyway, I decided to saute some onions, garlic and the rice itself in the fat yesterday before pouring in my liquid (which was water + some liquid from the meat I braised). And OMG. It turned out so freaking good! Almost like a halfway point between risotto and steamed rice. I am guessing sauteing the rice is what made it break down similar to a risotto. I wonder if the nutrients are similar. Anywho, you said rice, and I had to share. Guess what I've seen a huge improvement with calf mobility through? Yoga. Freaking downward facing dog. I'm not sure how much of your ankle mobility is from your calves (according to my chiro, my ankles themselves are "average" mobility, but the calves are the issue), but might be worth tossing in if that's any part of your issue. I'm also a Sherlock fan. Not quite as much as a few of my co-workers, but I can't wait for the new season! Because I sweaaaar I had thought about doing exactly that with my rice on Sunday! But, I wasn't sure if I'd end up just ruining the rice. I'm so glad you shared that story as it will definitely be on my list to try now. I've been using leftover broth (and the hardened fat on top) from the crock pot recipes to make the rice. noms. I was so close to buying a yoga groupon yesterday. I really should. I'll go see if it's still there... My warmup was jogging to the fitness room. Then jogging back to my apt because I forgot something. Then jogging back to the fitness room so I have no idea how fast or how long I went but I felt “warm.†Goblet squat: Did a lot of stretching beforehand – these felt pretty good but I think I’m still leaning forward too much.20x525x535x340x345x4 Split squat with rear leg elevated:30x830x830x8 Then I pretended like the cable machine in my fitness room could handle wood choppers (it can’t)40x10So I did planks instead: 70s, 75sBut planks are so boring I hate them I hate them I hate them. So then I did 10 incline reverse crunches. I plan to lift again tomorrow since I want 3 days in before saturday. I figure my lifts are light enough that I'm not going to damage anything by lifting two days in a row. I also did not grab candy this morning! Still have about 8 more hours to get through though... I think I crave strawberries almost all the time! But, yes, for sure I'd need them after workouts with that paper. This notepad is actually a new thing for me. I used to print out excel sheets I made but I ended up not liking having to fit my workout notes into squares and not being able to add in my warmups and any mobility I do. So I found this thing lying around my apartment. it's a jessica simpson notepad. how I came to be in possession of this rarity? I'll never know. My first thought was about the strawberry paper too. CourtnieMarie Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 I meant to tell you that I rolled my calves on Tuesday! Also did not have candy that day either. Wednesday… was a different story. But I did okayyy, overall my macros ended up being at these percentages 35/31/34 (C/F/P). I started off the morning with an egg white smoothie which I’ve been doing every other week or so when I don’t have a piece of egg casserole to last for the whole work week. I usually make it with oatmeal, apple, banana, vanilla, cinnamon and almond milk. I was really excited for todays though because I had thrown some leftover fresh blueberries in the freezer last week to use. made a maple blueberry smoothie! It was really good until I tried to drink more of it in the car on the way to work... It had congealed. Like gross texture congealed. I made myself get over it and stirred it with the reusable straw from my iced coffee and drank it down. but it was definitely grossing me out so sad. Did you know blueberries contain a higher amount of fruit pectin than other fruits? Well now we do. Blueberry jam is a go. Blueberry smoothies? ehhhh I need to remember to foam roll tonight. Speaking of – who’s cruel idea was it to air Sherlock every TWO years?! arrrrrrrrrrgghhhh No candy yet today. I did have a piece of that cookie though. I finally saw the most recent Star Trek movie. Benedict Cumberbatch was an AWESOME Khan. Such a great actor. Soooo I totally thought I'd be able to keep up with a challenge thread this go-round but I just got slammed with a huge project. I may be a few days or a week late in posting a thread depending on how work pans out. I'm going to initiate some of my goals anyhow, just may not be able to update about them. Going to continue with calf rolling at least twice this upcoming week and eating within my macros. I've been smoking 2 cigs a day during the week so I want to bring that down to one on monday and wednesday at least. I've got a cream of asparagus soup in the crockpot which smells amaaaaazing so I'll hopefully be able to let you know how that comes out! I cleaned and chopped a bunch of lettuce and wrapped it up in a towel? sure, why not! Also cleaned and chopped some strawberries and froze some of those bad boys as well. i definitely thought my hangover was going to hold me back today but as I type this up it actually looks like I was pretty productive! happy sunday, y'all!
