Crooked
Ok so waking up at 5:40 and going to yoga is a GREAT thing. Foot is not feeling super fabulous at this moment but I think that's more a function of using it in ways I haven't been accustomed to than injuring myself further. Bought a two-week pass to this yoga studio so it's my goal to go as much as I can. Comeback Challenge Link to comment

I know; sometimes I get weird food aversions, where I don't want to eat any of the things I normally eat, so I just eat eggs until it goes away. I don't know why I'm like that, but I've tried to fight back a little. I love that you provided illustrations! I'm actually a research assistant, which means I'm working with a professor to provide support for an upcoming article. I was never an RA (at my undergrad we called them RCAs), but I imagine that would be nuts to try to balance. Comeback Challenge Link to comment

I'm in law school, and I'm assisting on a paper about education reform. There are four RAs (myself included), which is nice because we can kind of spread the work around. When I was an RA this summer I was the only one, which was a little scary. Comeback Challenge Link to comment

Crooked
9 November 2013 Today I judged a CrossFit masters competition. It was so incredible and inspiring watching people twice my age throwing down and giving truly impressive performances for people of any age. It was so lovely to see my CrossFit family. The whole day made me want to get serious about healing my foot so I can get back to training for real. Foodbreakfast: sweet potato, eggcashew nut Larabarlunch: courtesy of Kettlebell Kitchen: sausage, eggs, spinach, grass-fed pumpkin chili, sweet potato mash — YUMplantain chipsdinner: pan-fried garlic sardines, avocado, tomato, sauteed green beans and onions, bell peppersdessert: frozen blueberries in coconut milk FitnessDoes six hours of standing and yelling count? Brometheus
Oh right. Fish oil burps. That's why I'm so bad at taking fish oil. (I try to be attractive and charming at all times. You're welcome) I just took some fermented cod liver oil. Trust me, fish oil has nothing on this. I take this...if you're willing to try it, only buy the cinnamon tingle: http://www.greenpasture.org/public/Products/CodLiverOil/ Link to comment
cline
Spousal unit loves judging crossfit!!! That's so awesome you did it. I AM going the distance 'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood. Crooked
Spousal unit loves judging crossfit!!! That's so awesome you did it. It was amazing. And I felt I finally got to use my Level 1 cert to judge standards and offer quick encouragement. We got such nice feedback from the athletes, too. Masters competitions seem to be pretty unusual in CrossFit, so it was amazing that we could provide an outlet for that. Comeback Challenge Link to comment
catspaw
What is the benefit of this stuff over other fish oil? Lots of info via Chris Kresser. Summary: - Cheap fish oil may do more harm than good. You need a high-quality brand. - Fermented cod liver oil (FCLO) has more fat soluble vitamins but less omega-3. - If you eat enough fat soluble vitamins otherwise (eg: grass-fed butter) you probably don't need FCLO. - If you eat enough fatty fish, you probably don't need fish oil. (I buy expensive fish oil, rather than FCLO, cuz I'm pretty confident in my fat soluble vitamin intake.) 1 You gotta experiment to find out what works for you.PM me with any questions about, well, anything!
