Day 1 report:

 

Workout:

Lifted heavy things

    Squats: 25 pounds

    Bench Press: 45 pounds

    Rows: 60 pounds (I'm a little amazed at myself that I can row that much)

 

Diet:

1793 calories.  I had a green smoothie for breakfast, tempeh wrap for lunch and then tofu scrambles, sauteed zucchini and whole wheat toast for dinner (breakfast for dinner *drool*). Also some tasty nuts and a pear for snacks.

My day was 100% vegan

Also I drank all my water (barely, I guzzled the last 8 oz or so right before bed)

And I didn't eat any fries

 

Sewing:

I sewed the sleeves back into my husband's imperial uniform and when we tried it on, it's still a little big.  Aaaaaaarg!  My husband is oddly shaped.  It's annoying as hell.  Other than the bigness, it looks completely awesome.  I should be done by the end of the week.  Then I can focus on BATGIRL!

I made a breakfast burrito out of leftover tofu-scrambles and veggies from last night, along with a ton of salsa.  It was SUPER tasty but I think next time I should bring the filling and the tortilla seperate, heat it up and assemble it at work.  I couldn't quite get it hot enough in the middle.  It was YUM though.  And filling.  I might be too full for my afternoon snack.

Back to bench pressing, I think my ability to bench press 45 pounds might have something to do with the years I've spent playing airplane with small children.  It's kind of the same thing :P

Also on benchpresses: When I'm bench pressing, I'm not lifting any of my own bodyweight (same with rows and overhead presses and stuff).  I figure when I'm squatting, I'm lifting an extra 50 pounds or so just from being overweight.

Also on benchpresses: When I'm bench pressing, I'm not lifting any of my own bodyweight (same with rows and overhead presses and stuff).  I figure when I'm squatting, I'm lifting an extra 50 pounds or so just from being overweight.

Maybe, I've never thought about it like that, do you struggle with the squat at 25 pounds? How long have you been doing it at 25 pounds? Are you working progressions of the weight? Are you following a program or just making stuff up at you go? I ask because this goes against most of what I experienced while lifting. I'm only benching 70 ish but I'm squatting 160 and my squat was always much higher and progressed much faster than my bench. Most women's seem to, so I'm being nosey

I'm doing stronglifts.  But I have terrible, terrible knees (stupid high school gym class) so I wanted to make sure I had my form PERFECT before adding weight.  I'm adding 5 pounds per week.  I'm not struggling but it's like WORK.  By the time I'm done, I could probably do one or two more but not many more than that.  I'm 70ish pounds overweight so I'm definitely hauling around a lot of extra pounds on my butt.
