Becoming Batgirl

Yowza, those are some hardcore goals!  But I know you can do it ^___^

What costume is your daughter doing from Attack on Titan?  I'm ridiculously into it myself.  I've seen some amazing cosplays--so complex I'd never want to even try to create one myself!  It would be frustration city.

I got a free set of nail wraps from the fine ladies of Espionage Cosmetics in exchange for taking lots of pictures they can use for their promotions. I gave them a bunch of money for their kickstarter so I'll be getting a bunch more in a few months. I'm madly in love with them.

You're doing freaking awesome Batgirl! That's all I can really say.

I don't know how you do vegan but I commend you for it. May I ask if you do it for health reasons or humane reasons?

A bit of both. Also the ick factor. I was never a big meat eater because I've always found it gross. And when I eat vegan I feel awesome and find it easier to keep calories under control.

Ok. Just curious. I've had to many friends who go vegan to "get healthy" but then look worse for wear after 3 months. Not saying that's the case hear, but I like to see all the different reasons people try things.

I know I could never do it because I hate tofu. The only tofu I've had that was good was tofu chorizo.

Tofu is so versatile you're bound to enjoy it in some way. Tempeh>Tofu any day though.

It's all about keeping it balanced, just like any other diet.  It would be easy to be a junk-food vegan and live on corn chips and jolly ranchers.  Before I was vegetarian I actually had a hard time getting enough protein just because I don't like meat.  Since then I've learned to cook with veg protein and I do a lot better.

Tofu is all about the preparation.  It has no flavor on it's own so you need to really season it up.  It's nice because you can make it work with pretty much any type of meal.  I have a contraption that I use to press all the water out so it's not mushy.  It's called a Tofu Express and you just put the tofu in and stick it in the fridge in the morning and when it's time to cook, you just dump out the water and you've got a nice firm piece of tofu to cook with.  You can marinate it too.

So yesterday went awesomely.  I'm getting better at getting all my water in before bed.  Today will be harder since I forgot my water bottle :(

Diet:

1793 calories.  For breakfast I had a green smoothie, lunch was a breakfast burrito with tofu scrambles and veggies, dinner was roasted potato and fennel soup with some tofurkey sausage and some more zucchini (I had a bunch in my fridge).  I also had some baby carrots and peanut butter for a snack (I made the peanut butter in my vitamix.  Because I am a hippy)

Still 100% vegan and feeling awesome

Still no fries

Got all my water

Workout:

55 minutes of step aerobics.

Sewing:

Did a lot of fitting, adjusting and pinning but no actual sewing.  I'm still counting it.

A+ day!!!  Woooooooooo!!!!!

LOVE the nails!

I only just painted mine pink yesterday...and smudged them instantly. \o/

This is why I'm so excited about the nail wraps.  I can't paint them myself.  I get it all over my fingers and smudge them in 5 minutes.  The wraps took about 10 minutes and I was doing stuff right after.  I've been obsessively putting coats of clear polish on them because I have an irrational fear they're going to peel off.

I just remembered that I forgot to answer this.  She wants to do a survey corps outfit.  You can get the jacket with the patch sewn on online for $30 so we're just going to buy it.  So all we have to do is make or find the brown pants and the shirt and make some straps with vinyl.  The hard part will be the boots but I'm thinking if we can find a pair of brown knee-high boots, we can modify them.
