Fauve's Challenge

Technically, this is my second challenge but I did not, in my opinion, do well the first time so I’m keeping myself at Level 1 until I improve.

Main Quest for this 6 weeks:

Revive my MILF and trophy wife status

  • At least 30 minutes of cardio daily. Doesn’t matter what, as long as I’m moving.
  • Weight training 3 days a week.
  • Continue quest to eat healthier by making half of every meal fruit and/or veggies. (side note to self: French fries are NOT a vegetable)

Life quest:

Revive my MILF and trophy wife status

Yep, this quest will take beauty and brains…

  • Use my sun lamp daily to help relieve my depression symptoms
  • Use Lumosity daily to help keep my brain quick and active
  • Write my husband a love note, card, etc. at least once a week.

My motivation:

I met my husband in a bar. Yep.  I was a ‘pick-up’.  We just happened to fall hopelessly in love.

(cue sappy music here)

After I quit smoking 5 ½ years ago, I put on a lot of weight. I’ve taken most of it off this year but I’m still about 15 lbs heavier (and a lot older) than I was when we met.  I want to think, that if he had to do it again today, he’d still offer to buy me that beer.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Mostly I work out with kettle bells. I seem to be the most comfortable with them. I will mix that up occasionally with some dvds. I like Jari Love's Ripped series and The Firm's Body Sculpting.

Hey Fauve, good luck with the goals! I've actually come after your profile pic hahaha -- I love that.

I used to smoke as well and by the time I could SEE again (I was so bad in the habit I got half crazy for the first... several months) I was 10 kilos heavier (that's 22 pounds). I wouldn't fit any of my clothes and I felt really uneasy in any piece of clothing all the time. However, everytime I left the shower and looked at myself in the mirror I though "look at that HOT MAMMA!!" hahaha I swear to god! It was so hard following any diet when I felt so hot in my heart.

But 10 kilos is 10 kilos and I did feel a little weird. I was used to being a hottie. But dieting didn't seem to help, neither did adopting the bicycle as a full time transportation (though I did give me amazing thighs AND I finally stopped gaining weight). I discovered the amazing world of lifting and decided I didn't want to be thin anymore, what I wanted was to be STRONG! :)

I gave up weighting myself for a while so I can't tell you if my numbers dropped. My shoulders and arms are bigger so I still don't fit the old clothes, my belly is slowly disappearing, muffin top and love handles are gone. My ass is out of this world. My thighs, my friend, my thighs are getting bigger and bigger. The shorts I bought when I got fatter are tight. I need new ones. But I must make clear my legs are the most beautiful and fat-free they have ever been. I'm fiercely proud of them.

So there you go - for us hotties in the nude hahah

Strength train, Fauve, it's worth it!! :)

Best of luck!

Proud of how well I did yesterday even though I'm still not completely over my illness yet.  I think my disappointing weigh-in motivated me even more.

  • Did weight training session #1 of 3 for the week
  • Ate much healthier - no junk food and lots of fruits and veggies.  Didn't hit 1/2 at dinner though = B+

Life quest:

  • Sent my husband a romantic card = A for the week

Hooray for starting out with this challenge strong!

Out of curiousity, are you using the free or the upgraded version of Lumosity?  I have been using the free version and debating paying for the full version but haven't encountered anyone who has the full version to get feedback from before I do that.

Hello there,

I was lured here by great avatar of yours :)

But I stayed to say: great job with your challenge.

And: how can it be, French fries are not vegetable?!

And also: I am using free version of Lumosity (I need to add it to my goals right now!) and I'm rather happy with it. But charts are tempting.

when you come upon misdeeds
speak out about those misdeeds,
and give your enemies no peace.

Mmmmm charts.  Maybe we could make our own?  Like with gold stickers and stuff!

Depressing, isn't it Thrima?  I had to make myself a rule that once something is deep fried, it ceases being a vegetable. < sigh >

Yesterday was good again, though I do need to go shopping at get some more fruits & veggies....

Main Quest:

  • Did my Cardio; walked 1 mile and did my Wednesday tap lesson = A
  • Not a weight training day
  • No junk food and some fruits and veggies but not enough at lunch  = B

Life quest:

  • Used my sun lamp = A
  • Used Lumosity = A
  • Hubby = A for the week

Your updating everyday is awesome & that will probably keep your motivation to do it throughout this challenge because we will be watching if you don't come back one day..lol just sayin. Actually I probably should track it like you are so that I feel all the guilt if I don't do a workout one day. Keep up the good work! You'll get that body back in no time girl :)

Yes, please harass me if I don't come back or log or start to backslide. That's the one downside to having an awesome hubby. I don't have anyone to yell at me and keep me in line! LOL

Yesterday was good, though I struggled a bit with munchies at bedtime.

Main Quest:

  • Did my cardio; walked 5 miles = A
  • Not a weight training day
  • Tons of fruits & veggies and did well eating out but had frozen yogurt and almond chips at bedtime = C

Life Quest:

  • Used my sun lamp = A
  • Used Lumosity = A
  • Hubby = A for the week

Eating out at the Chinese restaurant last night went well. Ordered the chicken and broccoli, no rice. And I ate only half and brought the other half home.

I see that food is going to be my sticking point this challenge...though I know I tend to be hard on myself and then I just give up.  Trying to find a middle ground.

Now, I do realize that I won't come anywhere near this every week, but wow, what a great motivator.

Main Quest weekly totals:

Did Cardio every day = A for the week

Did 3 sessions of weights = A for the week

Used Lumosity every day = A for the week

Sent Hubby card = A for the week
